  1. Aside from his attempt with jack leitch to form a defensive wall on Saturday, I've been impressed with Lewis Milne. He's been a greqt addition and has fitted in really quickly.

We will have to be better at both ends than on Saturday if we are going to take anything..

Hopefully we might have our first choice defence for the first time this season.

I'd be more than happy with a draw.

  2. So..... 1/6 of the league campaign gone already.

Think before the season started we would have been delighted to see only Falkirk and Hamilton above us st this stage.

The good - managing the above with the injuries we've had to a thin squad.

The never say die spirit to earn points late in games still seems to be there.

We should be much better once Pabs and Geeks are back and not just defensively. Geeks long throws have produced in the past and he always chips in with a couple of goals. Pabs is our best aerial set piece threat.

Darren Young - thought the Hamilton game was a great example of proactive game management. We got pretty well turned over first half but adjusted in the 2nd. For the equaliser, substitute Keiran Moore with the assist in a move started by Geeks who'd also just come on. Finished by Kyle Banner who'd been moved forward from the centre half position he started in.

The bad - not scoring goals at a great rate. Joint lowest scorers in the division. The defence had a bad day on Saturday but nobody could bail them out.

Carrick, Hilson, Spence and Thommo should be a decent strike force at this level.

how thin the squad is. We're actually lighter than last season and I just don't think it should be so. Hopefully a couple of loans come in but I'm disappointed we haven't strengthened with a couple more permanent signings at the back and at Centre midfield.

It only takes a couple of injuries to require guys playing out of position.

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm confident we can stay up.

  3. Disorganised playing for offside on the first goal. Looks like Dunsmore is lagging and playing him on. Based on the highlights he looked like a midfielder playing out of position on saturday. Disappointing as hes looked ok there previously. We certainly seemed to miss Pabs for his aerial and organisational skills too.

Wtf were they doing in that 'wall' for the 2nd goal. That's schoolboy stuff..

Did look like one of those days where nothing quite came off going forward.

Tommy Goss is a cracking player it has to be said. Two lovely finishes.

If he stays fit all season I think Annan stay up.

  4. Seems like so long since we last played.....

Watched the highlights of the last one a few times now.

Still impressed with how they came back and both goals were well worked moves from open play.

Hopefully Geeks will be back in the starting line up and we might get jojo back in defence too. Id expect Pabs to still be a couple of weeks away.

With the start thwt we've made to the season the confidence should be high but always find Annan a tricky opponent.

Squeezing out a narrow win would be great.

Not gonna make it down for this one.

  5. Absolutely fantastic. I love this team and they never know when they are beaten..

Second Half performance was outstanding. The energy levels to come back from 2 0 down on a hot day, against a full time team. What a great bunch they are.

Super determination from Moore to get to the byeline and what a cross for the equaliser.

I was pretty much already celebrating as Kyle met it. Superb atmosphere behind the goals today.

Dunsmore put in a  fantastic shift out of position too.

    Blair Currie outstanding as well..

    I love this team

  6. Prior to this season I can hardly remember many games that tickets were even really necessary for.

I might be wrong but I don't think we were doing anything e ticket wise. The last time I remember having a ticket was the rangers away cup game and I'm pretty sure my brother picked up physical tickets from forthbank but I could be wrong.

I think it's pretty much a non issue using ticket co now. It seems to all work OK.

I am more concerned that for months, even when we were winning the league, the club response was underwhelming. I feel like they failed to capitalise on the title success. The coaching and playing staff did their bit and the fans kept turning up.

There may be great things going on I'm the background. The stadium improvements are a positive step forward.

If the supporters who are engaged feel like there's little info coming from the club, I find it hard to believe that much is being done to potentially grow the support.

I brought a couple of folk along to games last season for the first time. Both loved it and have been back again already this season and are keen to do it again.

Over the last year, we've actually had a decent product for the first time in years and I don't think we have done or are doing enough to sell it.

  7. It's always going to be a risk relying on loan players.

Waiting this long means no guaruntee of getting what you want or need.

You also have the other scenario where the better they are,the greater chance they'll be recalled..

Now we're in a situation where a few injuries cause a real crisis.

I think we were pretty lucky with injuries last year and maybe its brought on a false sense of security.

I agree it's slightly weird the continual silence. Seems to have been a pattern for months and months.

  8. I hope you are right.

I was really happy with the 2 signings we did make..quality over quantity. Adding a couple of guys that had already played at a higher level. I wanted a similar defensive signing and because I'm greedy, probably another central midfielder too.

I have nightmares thinking about what would happen if Banner and Davidson were both out at the same time.

    Fingers crossed.

Hopefully they can rejig and hang on until the reinforcements arrive and hopefully Geeks is back before too long as well.

3 wins out of 4 in the league is a great start to the season at least.

  9. Still no sign of any loans incoming.

I was disappointed in the summer that the defence wasn't strengthened at all.  I thought we needed at least one signing. In an ideal world that would probably have been  a left sided centre half who could cover left back.

Now it's really going to bite us.

I thought based on last season that Darren Young deserved a bit more backing.

Hopefully we can get a couple of loans in to strengthen and everyone recovers quickly.

Especially Pabs.. I had the same thing when I was 12 and I'm sure the recovery was a lot easier at that age. I remember playing football a week later when i shouldn't have been and pulling one of my stitches.

A draw would have been a fairer result, always a sickener to lose to a late goal.

Can't really disagree. There was little in it and on another day you'd have had a goal second half.

Can't see you guys as title challenges or relegation candidates based on that showing.

See you bumping around tye middle which is hopefully where we will be too.

  11.

tWe are probably going to have 1 of our regular back four. There is no cover to speak of.

This in turn is probably going to mean midfielders playing at the back.,  weakening the midfield.

Can't see any help coming in the short term.

Always thought the squad seemed thin with defensive cover a particular weakness.

I'd be delighted with a draw

  12. My tuppence. I'm all for the guys going out on loan. Most look like they could do with it.

I think if any of the remainder were worthy of a place on the bench then they'd be there.

The half empty bench is concerning though. I thought the squad was thin to start the season and just a few injuries are resulting in lots of players playing out of position.

Even if we get a couple of loans in they will take time to integrate. Let's hope we get some injured players back quickly.

  13. Great way to end it but man there were some tense moments 2nd half. How Kelty didn't score in that scramble i will never know.

Blair Currie made a couple of great stops and i lost count of the number of times jojo and Cummins put their bodies on the line (literally at one point).

thought cammy Clark had another fine game today.

It was all a bit flat a lot of the time from both teams. Felt like a few of the games 2nd half of last season where they dug out a win regardless.

That'll teach them for making us change ends. . ..

Was great being back on the terrace

Could easily have been double figures, don't think any Albion fan would dispute that.

That said, half the teams in League 2 would have scudded us last night playing like that. We're not the best team in the world, but Darren Young has moulded us into being very hard to beat (was only our 2nd league defeat of 2023), which makes the performance even more perplexing. I've never seen us surrender like that since the Kevin Rutkiwiez days.

    Awful.

I don't think we can underestimate the level of mental and physical exhaustion that Fridays game will have caused. It took a huge amount of effort to stay competitive in that game. A thin squad means an inability to make changes means it was always going to be tough.

For it to be a well rested, full time team they were coming up against just made it harder.

If we are going to throw in a  stinker then maybe it's best in a game we'd probably not expect to get much out of anyway.

If I'd been offered 6 points from first 3 games I'd have taken it.

  15. So proud of the effort and performance tonight.

For a part time team to be the ones driving on at the end shows the spirit they've got.

As  others have said we are so lucky to have Darren Young. This is the fittest, best organised and best team spirit I think I've seen us have in so many years.

After so many failed mangers it's a real breath of fresh air.

I was just delighted to see one of my son's best friends make his 1st team debut last night. Weak XI I know, but still.

    Good for him.

Was a hard test for them last night but a good lesson on what is required to make it as a footballer in the men's game.

  17. That was a hard 90 minute watch but must have been even harder to play those 90 minutes.

Charging 13 quid is a bit cheeky.

Mark Weir our man of the match for preventing the scoreline being embarassing.

I do understand the rationale and think it's a poor show that we couldn't move the game. The league Cup group stage format is stacked against lower league teams and our reward for making it through is an early season fixture pile up.

My biggest disappointment was not seeing any if the youngsters looking like knocking on the first team door any time soon.

  18. That's a decent update on the stadium.

All things thwt should improve the match day experience. Particularly the tannoy which has been a running joke for years. You could barely hear it when we were only getting a few hundred through the door.

    Nowadays it's totally inaudible..

Could be interesting tonight. Be good to see some of the youngsters get a chance.
