Genuinely heartwarming to see Danny Devine being Danny Devine just there in Sportscene. An abomination of a footballer.

Couldn't agree more. Can't believe this imposter is still getting a game. Truely awful footballer. Crawford has been at the club since July and seen this joke for months. He comes in and still plays him? He was pish at Tannadice last week and yet again plays him agains. Oh... what happens... Another f**k up!!. We really are screwed.

    Coward

That's a bit much. He's only had a couple of interviews as well.

Calm down a bit. He might be utter pish. He might be decent. He might be totally mediocre.

We need to give him a chance.

Also manager interviews are always pointless pish. They're never going to say that the team were pish and tear in to them. You'll struggle to find examples of any manager at any level who does that, and if you do it will be a rare example.

He sounds like his had a lobotomy. Asked about Greg Shields and 2 minutes later he has him moving on to better things. Asked about the big support and it ends up talking about fans crossing the line with behaviour.  He's not media savvy. He goes of on a complete tangent when asked a simple question. Really not impressed. Doesn't look to have his own ideas. Apparently a fresh manger with his own ideas, but has basically kept AJ's team and been even more cautious.

  3. Danny Devine again showing what a fucking donkey he is. Total imposter. Get him to f**k.

On a side note. Crawford was a coward playing one up top today. Rovers are total garbage. They kept passing the ball to us. What more do we need?. I know we need striker or two but at least try two folk up top. Concerned with Crawford as manager. His interviews are embarrassing. Sounds like some fan boy dragged off the street and given a club tie. I think Shields sounded far more impressive. Very early I know but that's how I see things.

  4. Really disappointed with Keena going back. He was a bright light in a pretty bleak season. His boundless energy and incredible strength for a 19 year old was impressive. Got a goal in him too. His turn and strike against Alloa was class. I think the guy will be playing regularly for Hearts in the not too distant future.

What we have left to play up top now is pretty worrying. Smithy needs to rebuild his confidence and isn't ready to lead the line for us. Faz has completely lost his ability to be a threat in the box. Ryan is injured. Then we have a collection of winger/striker type players, of which none of them are capable of scoring enough goals. Personally think we need to bring in two forwards before the end of the window.  Sounds like we need to lose a few before we can do that though. Not sure how much we were contributing to the two Hearts players wages.

I'd disagree that the recruitment in the summer was terrible.

    I'd say it was mixed.

There have certainly been signings that haven't worked out but he also signed Thomson, Beadling and Keena.

Also Devine is nowhere near as bad as folk are making out. He's not been any worse than Ashcroft for example.

The recruitment was aimed at playing 3-5-2. That's the reason we have an imbalanced squad with our current formation. Devine was awful yesterday. Slicing clearances and missing tackles. Just like the week before against Alloa. Much worse than Ashcroft

  6. Can't believe AJ gave Devine a 2 years deal. Dreadful centre half. Utter bomb scare with zero footballing ability. We need to get a proper right back in who can defend properly. This has been an issue for too long. Our collection of confused winger/strikers that don't really know what type of player they are is hurting us up top. Lets get an out and out winger and a proper front man.  The team is imbalanced and confused at the moment. Terrible recruitment by AJ in the summer. Hopefully we can at least fix one or two problems in this window. It will certainly take 2 transfer windows to fix all the issues though.

Loving it that the pars are potentially more car crash than with AJ

As said previously, the current squad is a top 4 at worst, it's a quandary to be bring in a rookie

Time will tell. I actually think it's a not bad situation for a rookie. Decent squad to work with and a nice wee cushion from the bottom two teams still. I agree that we should be looking at top four at least, so AJ had to go. Our hands are tied financially though, we couldn't afford to pay compo for a performing manager at another club and we don't want some stale merry go round manager.  We can't throw money about like Falkirk have. I'm  happy to have some Pars fans at the helm and guy who will work to the bone to make this a success. 100% behind them and the board on this one.

  8. Did Shields get strapped to a ballistic missile to get over here for the photo shoot?

I heard after the Falkirk home game that AJ's contract terms changed in January, which means it was a much reduced pay-off and that Crawford would take over if results didn't improve due to a lack of finance to get somebody external and pay compo.. Thought it was just ITK shite but looks like it was true.

  9. I think Darren Young would be my first choice. No because he's an ex player but he did well getting a very small club like Albion Rovers up to league one and kept them there. He has now taken East Fife to the top end of league one and keeping pace with Rovers. He has a few years experience behind him now too. Petrie has done well but not quite proved it for long enough for me.

Goodwin interests me too and wouldn't be unhappy with that.

Maybe even Lee Bullen who was caretaker at Sheffield Wednesday and been in around the management scene at a good level for a while now. Maybe a good chance to be his own man now.. Knows the club, intelligent guy too.

Billy Davies? Where's he been? Not sure if we would interest him though. He would've had some high paid jobs over the years.

  10. Just listening to Joe Thomson's interview after the game. He's very honest.

Don't know what happened second half, they might of made a wee change but we've not picked up on it''

''We didn't make ourselves tight and see out the game or push for another goal.'' That's exactly how it looked to me. It looked to me that there was no real plan second half and no response when things went pear shaped. I mean not even bringing on Durnan last 5 minutes to add to defence and defend set pieces. That would be standard for a manager at professional level. It's amateurish.

It just sounds we're lacking direction. Like was said above, we start of with a plan and it's just a case of hoping all goes well, because AJ and Clark seem incapable of out smarting the opposing management in game.

First half showed how well these players can play. Let down time and time again by Johnston's inability to manage the team during 90 minutes.

It's 11:05, why have the club not made a statement yet?

They will simply view  it that AJ is four games unbeaten. There's a question mark if we could afford to get rid and if we could, it will take much worse before they act. It will take losing the next 3-4 games and taking a gubbing in one of them I think.

The way I view it is that we sometimes have flashes of the ability we have in the squad but are being kept behind by poor management. Saturday was fine example of how much AJ and co are holding us back. Goodwin roasted him tactically, just like various managers have done this season. Hitting us on the counter has work time and time again for visitors to EEP. Just like the QOS home game he messed up in October with his tactical nous. Oh and add the Ross County and ICT home games where he persisted with 3 at the back but it was clear as day it wasn't working.  He basically saves his skin with the odd win against Falkirk. Don't think that get out clause exists anymore so he better get his act together fast. The guy is a hindrance.

What’s your thoughts on this and on him? He’s always been a player I’ve known to be decent without actually remembering him any time he’s played against us (I think I’ve blocked out the time he scored a hat trick).

He's a goal threat coming off the left. Pretty much every man and his dug know he's going to cut in from the left but he's made a decent career out of it.

Great on his day but as is typical of this type of player, he disappears for large chunks of the season.
