4 of our first eleven out already. 4-5 signings short. 1 nil Pars.

Definately a mutual dislike of Falkirk and joining forces to fuk them over last season has eased old tensions of the past.

Aye, there definitely looks like there is a lot of good things being done in terms of inclusivity since Cook came in. Noticed that there is a new kids play area, including a couple of PS5s, in the concord area of the Norrie. Think that’ll be a cold one for the weans come November mind you!
Never noticed the concord in the Norrie before....

I know we look at the highlights for goals but I would love to see Bene's block with two feet off the ground in the first half. Airdrie player strikes it from 18 yards towards goal and ''The Wall'' just bats it back with two feet. Fukin legend.

Couldn't make it today but that's a really big win for us for multiple reasons.
Obviously three points is always welcome, but to start with that is great. To do so with multiple players out is fantastic. To do so with many starting players out is brilliant. To do so with a 17 year old starting is immense.
The Pars lads. Some team.
We're hard as.
Imagine the team with new signings plus Todd, Mehmet and Hosler back. Might take till 2024 for that to happen but we'll be safe this year.

However, the fact that people were chewing him out today was crazy when he was quite clearly one of our better performers
I bumped into a boy I had not met for years when I was walking out today. He was positive about a handful of players then said ''Chalmers need punted though''. I genuinely can't see how somebody can think that after today. Some folk just don't forgive.

Was 100% wrongly scapegoated when we went down. OG against QOTS aside.
No. He was never giving as much as he did today.

Credit to Craig Watson for his interview with Airdrie’s in house team.
Just calmly dismissed the interviewer’s attempts to turn it into a hard luck sob story and instead questioned his own side’s effort to get a positive result.
The Airdrie players would've known exactly what thay were facing today. They know us and we know them. Nae hard luck stories to be told today.

Thought Chalmers was class to start with and played well throughout but also feel he could be so much better at times
Chalmers was superb today. That's coming from somebody who was pissed off at his two year deal

As a Pars fan who was 19 in 1996, I can't believe how sensible this Pars v Airdrie thread is. Fair fuks though, Airdrie have some good posters on here and a balanced view of the game is good to see.
The game was exactly how I thought things would play out. Two very different styles. Airdrie looking to shift the ball about midfield to attack and Pars solid at the back and looking to counter. It was close all last season and it was again. Going down to 10 men is not that big a deal to Pars. We are very comfortable sitting with our backs to the wall.
I'm confident our style will see us safe with a few more additions and I'm sure Airdrie will win games playing less defensively organised teams in this league.

Away from signing talk. I'm trying to think how we will lineup for today and who will play.
I think the 3-4-3 that we have played in pre-season. 3-5-2 as another option but there no Matty Todd to play AM and we haven't signed any back up after Mochrie went back to United. Perhaps Andy Tod could do that role.
Sharp
Fisher Benedictus Otoo
Comrie Hamilton Chalmers Edwards
Tod Wighton McCann
Subs----Little, Breen, Allan, T.Sutherland, Hoggan, O'Halloran

Regardless of short signings, we should have enough about us to be beating Airdrie tomorrow.
We struggled to beat them last season. Not sure our even weaker squad now gives me much confidence of that.

Part of the problem is hearing we were close to a signing two weeks ago. Then you hear from that meeting last night 1 could be completed today and still nothing.

FB murmurings suggesting Witherspoon deal off.
Did he not help a granny across Halbeath Road on his way in to sign the contract?

Big game for both clubs tomorrow, hoping to be there early for the flag unveiling etc, what sort of crowd are you expecting,, planning on parking in the leys rd ? Car park, is that still the best option on match days... Parked there the last couple of times and was very busy and takes anage to clear.
I would imagine 5000 odd. Weather is meant to be horrific, so might put a few passive supporters off.
Leys Park is fine but as you know, it takes a age getting out. If you are early, Garvock hill or in around that area might be better.

My mate Wullie fae Toonhill would be ideal. Never played football but a bloody nice lad.

Also this bit on ST sales
''As of today it sits at 3418, last year at the same time it was 2500. ''
That's some effort from the fans, pretty much 3500 season ticket holders. Just hope we get enough on the park to keep them coming back and add more.
