    Thanks for clarifying.
I never read the courier but looks like I’ll need to start.
I just thought there was some website (other than here) where you’d get the inside scoop on all things Pars. That .net site is a clusterfuck of bawbaggery, and though the east end bounce seems quite informed, it has very slow traffic, hence why I joined this site.

If you register with Twitter and follow Craig Cairns( He writes for the Courier), you will get all the Pars latest news.

    Team work then?
I have to say I’m pleased with the signings our club has made since McPake took charge, and I’m sure they’ll get the right players in again this season

Yeah. It's worked so far so can't complain.

It's is a bit frustrating when you have deals bubbling in the background for ages. Like a lot of fans I tend to think with the heart than the head and want everything yesterday but deep down I know they are doing the best they can for the club.

    Hanks mate.
I’d have thought the manager would have identified the players he would like then Meggle/the board would negotiate a deal if one could be had?
isn't that the way most clubs would do it, or is that too many people involved as suggested by SRB?

Meggle and Cook have a say in what players come in too. More a say with age and potential rather than identifying individuals I think.

Not just trying to bring in the management teams targets.

Genuine question. Do you know who’s all involved with signings?
I’m new to P&B, but have read the site for a good while. I have seen many posts where people apparently know the inner workings of our/their club, it surprises me how many fans know what goes on behind the scenes at our club.
I don’t do any social media sites other than this place, but it like to know where I’ll find the information that some on here apparently know. Can you point me in the right direction please?

There was an short interview in the Courier with Thomas Meggle. Can't remember fully but it was along the lines of the board having the final say but he was involved with the mangement team.

  5. The strange part for me is how we have guys like Wotherpoon and Jakubiak hanging around the club, going to games, training with us. We all know they are easily good enough to play for us. Mumbongo has been hovering about the club for weeks too.

Why is everything so strung out with players hanging about the club for weeks and not being signed? O'Halloran was the same.

Are you guys missing Todorov or was he of a similar ilk to the rest,  not starting much for Airdrie due to injury and Gallagher hitting form, don't think it will be too long before he starts, must be on a decent wage as well..

He was a good impact sub. Seemed to have a knack of being in the right place for sniffing out a goal.  I think his touch was poor and never looked at his best when starting games.

I think the powers that be thought he was an expensive impact sub. Personally I thought it was the right decision to get him off the wage bill but many would disagree. Particularly now, as months later we've still not replaced him.

Paton's Pars in Europe. That would have been glorious.

Would've done better than Davie Hay or Stephen Kenny. Pars 95-98 teams would've caused some damage to the teams that put us out a decade later.

We were quite unfortunate we lost Calderwood and some good players after 2004 and played Hafnarfjörður with an awful manager like Davie Hay. BK Haken we played after relegation to the first division. Strange times under Stephen Kenny.

  8. Kai Kennedy just doesn't fit what our club/team are all about.

He's a diving cheat for a start. Not a team player. Won't track back and just massively overrated.

Like Heaton alludes to, KRH is a player that came from a background of Man City & Rangers with not near the same hype as Kennedy. Due to that, he's grounded and realises that he needs to work hard to make the most of his talent.

The comparison of Kennedy and KRH is a good one, as it refects the kind of decision making we've been making in the last year and a bit compared to the howling mistakes under Grant and Yogi.

jings! I’m showing my age, I was away googling Alex Hunter hoping he was a guid striker 🥴
I’ve given in on new signings, and stopped getting my hopes up.
I have faith in McPake to get us the cover we need.

In solidarity with a fellow older poster, I will admit that I did the same.

Got slightly excited for 3 seconds when I saw him in a Real Madrid strip and then realised he's on FIFA.

I love Wighton, such a silky player on his day.

Does a brilliant job up on his own. Some of his flicks and lay-offs are sublime. Very talented footballer.

He can look lethargic with his body language and takes a bit of stick for it but actually does a power of work in that role if you look closely at him during a game.
