  1. Going to my first game to watch County play at home. Looking forward to watching another step back to the Premiership. Be interesting to find out who will be playing and sampling the atmosphere
  2. GN does a fine job on such a restricted budget. I have been impressed how he helps to develop loan players who are recommended to us by his contacts. A few more lads, like Callum Semple, from the excellent Sheffield United Academy system , won't go amiss
  3. Just back from Inverness What a performance. Our back line are so strong now and its a shame Callum Semple has left. The young man has formed 2 partnerships first with Doyle and now with Fordyce They both played so well and can you imagine how it was to see our 2 Wing Backs in the opposing area and getting the goal that put us back in the game. 2500 in the ground and our 200 ish out shouted the opposition completely You can see in the celebrations how much the players appreciate the great support
  4. feel a bit for Doyle. His is a good right side full back or wing back and he did well at centre back playing with semple He does give his best even when played out of position.
  5. Two games against us, nil goals and I hear we have a poor defence. Funny game football
  6. It certainly was exciting and GN certainly is doing well with the squad available but I was astonished that nobody was allocated to pick up their number 7 the 7 ran the second half, all the moves went through him. I thought when Norman came on he would have been told to mark him out of the game, but no. It surprised me that one of our senior men didn't take responsibility. The stats on the CBs are very interesting and certainly I prefer Doyle alongside Semple and the results seem to back that. Just got back on line and i wish the Inverness 7 was playing for us but still loving watching the great entertainment on offer although a headed goal would be nice from Dykes
  7. The screamer came from poor defending by Mercer and Martin's decision making is par for the course. I thought Doyle and Semple were coping by belting balls that the keeper should come and collect, into touch but Fordyce must have forgotten that. 4 nailed on chances to score only 2 on target and no danger to East Fife's keeper. It has been a concern that we rely on Dobbie for our goals so when he has a poor game we do not look like scoring. Surely when Harkins is missing we must have someone who is capable of taking a free kick i would settle for even a 50/50 success rates I am a big fan of Dobbie but I just think we should be protecting him a bit more rather than landing him with free kicks as well. I thought Dykes would do the running up front but not yesterday. Still expect a point at Dumfermline. Still believe The Manager is doing well with the resources he has been given and it's never dull watching Queens
  8. Sorry I was trying to show our away support remains good no matter the results ,just like the Tartan Army but got led astray
  9. Want to guess what support we get for the home match against Israel 18K in a 80K stadium but according to some the national team is holding its support base. I remember the qualifiers for Italy, France and Argentina when you couldn't get a Hampden ticket for love or money. We even got 30k to wave goodbye
  10. If you think 17k against Albania is a gate that is 'holding Up' then we have opposing ideas of International turnouts. It is a disgrace that a football stadium that I attended with 100k in attendance now looks almost empty for a non friendly game. I will not waste my time with any further response to your comments
  11. The point I make relates to the excellent support we get at away games and the great support given by the Tartan army away. I can not agree with your comments on the numbers who support the national team for home games, Belgium 20K and Albania 17K. Contrast that to 2014 when we had 4 home games England 50K, Republic 49K,Georgia 34K and even Gibraltar at 34K when the nation started to believe we were progressing. After our latest show I dread to think what kind of crowd we get for the next home game. Contrast that to Wales who now sell out games at Cardiff City and are now having to move to The National stadium to ensure every one can get a ticket. All because of the success they have had over the recent years and we could do the same but not with the present displays
  12. Regarding all these posts on winning and defending to get fans back to our games I would refer to the after match interview with Mr Dobbie when he was commenting on his 3 goals. He accepted that in his opinion he did not play as well as he could have by loosing possession too often and in relation to us loosing goals he said that our defending needed to be much better up front. We play an attacking game by pushing our full (wing) backs up and we do it well however when we loose the ball we have little cover in place. So if goals and wins bring back the fans then we will need to make changes to how we are set up. Naismith also said he was concerned how we can loose 2 or 3 goals as no matter how the game is poised we keep bombing forward, Queens don't do Game Management. To me it is a management issue on how the team is set up. If we stay with attacking full backs we need 2 in the midfield who will cover the attacker. What surprises me is that with only 2 CBs in place we have managed to get clean sheets. We seem to be better when away but if goals and wins are needed to get the fans back then we need to address the home set up. With Dobbie in our team we will get goals only maybe not so many. As an aside how can Scotland play 2 very good left full backs out of position, ensuring neither play well and hope to attract back fans to the international games. I always feel that Queens fans and the Tartan Army are great away from home but suffer to attract the extra support at home. To quote a well known song " It's a Mithtery"
  13. Given what the manager has I think he is about right in how he handles the media. We have a stronger defence and we can score goals. Results attract support and so far we have a decent record. It's true we do not have a strong bench but that means the players are unchanged for each game, a big thing in my view. Injuries are the concern but until that happens lets enjoy the football on show. A result on Saturday will be welcome.
  14. This will be a fine match and at our best we can get a result. Sorry i won't get up to Inverness but if we track back a bit more than I saw at Firhill we can do the business I worked out that we could play in our 3rd kit.
  15. I agree with the manager that the second half performance overshadows the fact that we won the game. Must have been a great view for neutral supporters but a strugle for both sets of supporters. The Crusader fans I spoke to blamed the defeat on their keeper having a rush of blood to the head for our first goal. I look on the positive and our keepers performance was his best so far. Long may that continue and our defense, who look stronger every game, are getting accustomed to his style. Dykes continues to improve and I hope we keep with the same players for the Ross County match. Another 2 goals for Dobbie and a fine first half for Harkins although I think Harkins is at the stage in his career where around an hour is enough. Dobbie can last longer as he does not need to get about the pitch as much. I am not a great fan of stats apart from shots on target. I'm more excited by enthusiasm, character and shape and our squad deliver on all these points. Lets just eliminate silly mistakes and stop throwing our throws to the opposition.
  16. It looks like they play to different rules in Northern Ireland. For once I hope we get a good referee for the game and yes i hope we can avoid not only injuries but also retaliating to some of the attention we will surely get.
  17. Absolutly this. His highlights have been good but watching via qostv90 games and this Saturday, he is a very good player. Great first touch, calm in defence seems to be able to pick a pass and was defintly getting his head on most crosses. Good player please extend his loan if he continues this run of form. Yes it would be a shame to break up that back line at Christmas. A lot will depend on Sheffield United's view but our manager has given the lad the game time they asked for and Naismith has good relationships at United, so if he wants to keep him till the end of the season then it should be possible. Might help us if the Scotland u21s have a look as that would add to the valuation Sheffield put on the lad. It's not all about the football now and that's a shame.
  18. Yes, he is responding to the way he is expected to play. I'm so impressed
  19. Best goal I've seen in a long time. 24 passes, fantastic
  20. What a game that was against Ayr. Dobbie gets the praise on here, quite rightly, but good to hear the manager praise his defense for another clean sheet. I bet Ayr management wish they had taken the money for their CF. Doyle and Semple gave them nothing. Hope to see the 5th goal again, the build up from the back through the middle was 1st class, how many passes were made before the goal was scored?
  21. Be good to get 1 or 2 in but it seems the team that played at Falkirk is fit to go so we should win this. Looking forward to a great game.
  22. I think we should rest Martin for this one. The opposition keepers in the first 2 league games produced outstanding saves to deny us goals while 2 of the goals against us were well saveable. So 2 bits of good keeping and we would be on 4 points and it might be said we have the makings of a decent defence. Having said that I do like an on form Martin but with keepers its all about confidence and he is a bit short of that. A bit of competition will help him, I think.
