  1. So you think there are enough local young lads good enough to play in the Championship?
  2. I don’t think a young squad is in any way a bad thing. Young players could come out of this in a reasonable position with their salary expectations being smaller than that of more experienced players.
  3. Thought Doyle had signed a two year contract at Falkirk. expect to see Doyle and Longridge at Queens next season if they have been released.
  4. why doesn’t the guy wanting to put £2m into the Scottish game buy 10 of these testing machines, allocate 4 clubs to each machine and cover the cost of testing for 12 months. That would be his money well spent in my opinion.
  5. I don’t think players are going to be in a position to be too choosy about offers they may or may not get. Would save the club a fortune to train at Palmerston unless someone tells me different mind. Certainly easier for Dobbie and Holt. But I do agree that in normal circumstances Hamilton is by far a better option.
  6. Didn’t realise I had quoted your post by mistake. was replying to 19QOS19
  7. Aye I'd be happy for Mercer to stay. I'm still not convinced we won't see some of them back. I doubt they will be getting snapped up by other clubs any time soon. It'll depend how they feel towards the club in these circumstances I suppose. I think any of the decent ones amongst them will understand....... I don’t think any out of contract player is in any position not to consider an offer from any club.
  8. Totally agree. If he performs he stays if for whatever reason it does not work out then the club is not lumbered
  9. We are talking about Oliver’s contract where he needs to play so many games to be given a new contract. It’s nothing to do with a contract which is not based on appearances. These contracts are all in the clubs favour. Do I really need to explain again
  10. The player doesn’t hold all the aces at all. If the player plays well enough he gets a new contract. If the player is poor, gets injured, falls out with the manager then no deal as he won’t play enough games. All in the clubs favour I would think.
  11. I am sure one or two players will be offered a return. I would think the players would be disappointed rather than furious. Quite rightly they must be wondering why they can’t be furloughed for at least another month when other clubs are happy to do so.
  12. I am surprised said c***s have not had a go at you yet. Give it time
  13. I think you will find it is pretty accurate.......
  14. By that time football clubs could be building a squad back up giving players a bit of a chance to find a club. We are talking about the here and now
  15. Any employer who genuinely cares for their employees would keep their staff on furlough as long as possible even if they knew they would be making them redundant or sacking them when furlough stops..... It has nothing to do whether the person is well paid or not.
  16. The furlough system is to prevent making staff unemployed. Normally players are released with options or clubs to potentially move to. That is not the case at present. So clubs are entitled to use the furlough system to keep all employees paid........ IF THEY WISH TO DO SO. Not sure where Dunfermline are saving any money, as a Furlouged employee costs a business nothing.
  17. Not sure what cost is incurred to clubs by keeping out of contract players for an extra month or two so they can stay on furlough rather than being out of work.
  18. Now there is a shock......... you have been doing so well today.
  19. A large proportion of Championship players.... especially young ones will be earning less than or equal to you... unless you are going to chip up you have lost your job. As you said earlier..... most Championship players are shit anyway so why would they walk into another job ?.. So you shouldn’t have to much to worry about ... Sounds more like a ‘ woe is me ‘ comment on your part.....
  20. Millions of people are going to lose there livelihoods due to this fucker including me. Why the f**k should footballers be any different? Nobody said footballers should be treat any different. I have the same opinion about any industry being scrapped or anyone being laid off...... We are in a football forum not a general fucking chat. So scrapping football would be a major setback to players, staff, and any other staff that a club have. And yes they would have to find other jobs.
  21. So you think every player will walk into another job..... most full time players will never had any other kind of job in their lives. Most will be working towards what they do after football if they have anything about them. Add to that unemployment will be at its highest for years.
