With Kilday being injured there was no way Semple and Devine could be the only CBs in the club. One 18 and Semple only 21.

Got a text saying he was in discussion with us yesterday but couldn't agree terms. If Semple is fit then I don't think we need a finished CB anyway. Just can’t see Berra wanting to play on Astro with his dodgy knees but also we will be miles out on salary.

On the Berra rumour. There is no way Queens can compete with Dundee financially. Are Queens going to blow their transfer budget on a player in a position they don’t need to strengthen. Finally, Berra has knees of glass. Is he seriously going to sign for a club that trains on Astro and plays on the worst Astro pitch in Scotland ?? I just can’t see it. IMO

The only issue with Brownlie not playing on Saturday would have meant a CB pairing of an 18 year old and Semple at 21. That is a young pairing for that position..... Mind you it could not have been any worse than what happened.

I think you are being extremely kind with your Wording in your review. The defending from all concerned for all three goals was stinking.

I can honestly say Kilday would have played with Brownlie. And to be fare why wouldn’t they. It baffles me why the manager would play an 18 year old in front of a new keeper both being at the club a couple of days. In such an important game.

Semple was 100% fit yesterday. There was no limping no nothing. He did the pre match warm up just fine and the half time kick about fine. AJ decided to play a CB who is leaving next week and an 18 yr old who has been at the club 2 days in front of Semple. Semple has played 40 games for the club and you could genuinely count the number of poor games he has had on one hand. That alone is a very poor management decision. Along with not starting Hamilton, the managers selection was shocking. Dobbie thrives off a big lad next to him through the middle. Now he is shipped off wide or up top on his own.

Semple was and is fit to play.

Kilday/Semple keep clean sheet at Ayr, Semple scores. Brownlie/ Devine concede 3 ( a player who is leaving and another who 18 and has never played before ) Why was Semple not playing? AJ clearly said his fitness was back to where it was. Now he needs games to get match fit. Hamilton has a decent game against Dundee Utd. Dropped today only to score and assist when he comes on. AJ got what his strange selection deserved..... zero

Comfortably the worst game he's had this season. Maybe that is saying something !!
