  1. Hughes contract was only short term, surely? Left at the end of it (straight up Pratt Street at the end of the game).
  2. I remember a while ago someone mentioning that Livi were missing a layer compared to ours but that is probably bullshit. I've been very impressed with our pitch. Far better than I imagined and we've been playing the correct style of football for it. The state Starks used to get in to (particularly in front of the South Stand) was poor as soon as Winter arrived and really dragged back any attempt to play decent football.
  3. I fucking loved doing the rounds at work today visiting all the Pars fans. One of them did hope they might go for McInnes but atleast admitted it might be a long shot!
  4. I think it says something when we routinely get fans of other teams wishing him well and a speedy recovery. Everyone recognises the struggles he's been through and that we've almost been robbed of watching a great, exciting player even if he would have been away some time ago if he never had the injuries.
  5. I'd rather Tait played than Vaughan.
  6. It wouldn't even be as bad if the reds were picked up going about his defensive duties but so many of them are for reckless, immature or ridiculous reasons. Although I think he's a better player than many do on here, I can't argue that his ability as a player outweighs these moments. He's not Sergio Ramos.
  7. I'd also like to think that Vaughan would stick with us even if offered deals elsewhere as we've stuck by him for so long. The medical costs will have been quite substantial for a club our size and the board have mentioned in the past about medical expenses being a big drain (although this was across a number of players). I'm sure some clubs would have dumped him long ago.
  8. I don't think you can criticise ICT for working Davo at all. I'd be wanting us to wind up any short fused opponents to try and get a man advantage. As Raith1974 said, he should know better and it's his own fault for biting. Edit: It's not as if they were even going beyond the pale. Their player went down easy and a few other rushed the ref and Davo and that's all it took. 10 minutes in to the match...
  9. I don't think we ever appeal red cards because of the cost. Possibly only on a couple of occasions in the last few years?
  10. I hope playing more games in the run in doesn't adverselyaffect us too much. It seems the form teams are the ones that are able to play all their games (other than Alloa).
  11. How will these affect the Premiership playoffs dates?
  12. I doubt the Rovers will turn down any cash you want to offer up either but the Donate a Ticket website has been helpful not only for our club but a few throughout the country. They created a knockout competition during the summer where the team with the most tickets bought per tie then progressed. It was just a bit of fun and competition during a time when no football was taking place. I don't have a problem with it continuing to run if fans still want to donate despite there being other methods or not. Ps: Pars are shitebags.
  13. I think I'd keep Duku too. Give him a run of a few games to get up to speed and hopefully he'll get backin to a rhythm. It can't be good for their confidence to keep changing players either. Also, did the commentators mentions early on that Lawrie Ellis was there on scouting duties? I'd hardly have thought that was in the spirit of having as few people as possible in the ground.
  14. Duku has been rank but for whatever reason I still feel like he's the most likely of the strikers to score.
  15. I feel when we're pushing higher, out wide there needs to be more support. Alloa are crowding out the man on the ball who has no options to retain possession.
  16. As others have said, great to find Matthews back in the 11. He's been our biggest miss the last few games.
  17. I underdtand where you are coming from and think that sounds good in theory but, while a mid-table finish isn't near bad by any stretch of the imagination, I don't think it will lead to stability. It's very likely we'll lose some of our biggest players and struggle to replace them which will then mean we are less competitive next year. The higher we finish the more money we bring in then the greater wages we can offer to kick on. I've got faith in McGlynn to bring in some good replacements for whoever leaves but it isn't easy replacing your biggest players. Especially those like Hendry who are probably being paid considerably less than they can get else where.
  18. My preseason prediction was a mid-table but we have shown we are capable of playing to a higher level. QoS fans were barely expecting to be competitive this year but I doubt they would be happy with a low finishing position considering their recent results.
  19. Falling out of the top 4 would obviously hurt and I think anyone saying 5/7th is fine is trying to soften the blow. Saying that, we're obviously missing certain players and have had no consistency in the team over the last few games in any area of the park. Injuries right through the squad have upset us so hopefully when we can start putting a similar starting 11 every week we can start seeing better results again.
  20. Have to say, I'm absolutely gutted tonight. I thought we'd taken that next big step up in the process and had a real chance at the championship this year. I should've known better.
  21. The teams above us can offer greater wages and a chance to play in the top league. That's all they need.
