Martin has only had a handful of games for us. Seems like a hard c**t though, honest hard worker and good tackler. Didn't make any major errors or look out of place at all when he's played. I rate him higher than Taiwo tbh.

Miller always seemed a strange choice to me to give a manager position. He's determined enough, but hard picturing him try to maintain and manage good relationships with the board and his squad.

He's more of an attacking midfielder? And talk of Scotty Allan coming back too. Might end up with an abundance of AMs and no one that can win a battle...

For me Campbell is more likely to replace some of the heart and drive that we would lose from the sale of McGinn compared to perhaps Kamara.

Yeah Mulumbu slipped my mind there, think Hibs should be talking with him and Rod will be enthusiastic about not having to pay a fee to a club. Apart from that lot I guess we'd be looking to England for loans, players that have shown potential in league 1 and their club would still accept reasonable fees for, also any good free agents that are left there and from other countries. I assume we've been planning for the departure of SJM and Dylan for a while, let's hope the timing doesn't mean the majority of our targets are now more difficult to get.

Would any midfielders in Scotland be realistic targets to (potentially) fill the hole left by McGinn and Dylan? Kamara, Campbell and Magennis are all highly rated but have a feeling their clubs will be wanting more than we will pay...

Looking at the free agents, a few names that stand out are Skondras, Tomas and Sarris all released by Accies, Bauban, Gary Irvine, Paul Quinn, Jim O'Brien and M'Voto. Noticed Zander Diamond, AJ Leitch Smith, David Raven and Issiah Osbourne are freed from clubs down south too. Not sure how up to date the tranfermarkt list is, but you'd think one or two of these guys should have been interesting Archibald at least to have a basic squad ready for the start of the campaign....

I think he might have a bit more of the dig and strength we will need if McGinn goes. Our other CMs bar Marv(who might be slowing a bit and is pretty one dimensional, although great at what he does) seem to lean heavily towards attacking types. As much as i'd love to see Scotty back, I'd like to see a quality, tough, mobile CM come in first to balance things out when SJM moves on. It will be worth shelling out a bit for this kind of player to ensure we have some energy and fight in the midfield and stop us getting bullied.

who's the popular choice to replace Shabba? McIntyre?
