Signing a French striker takes me back to that season we started off with Didier Agathe for the first month or so, then signed Zitelli when he left and we finished the season with Marc Libbra on loan. I think Donald Park was our chief scout at the time, had an eye for a player. It's a shame Doidge didn't seem to be able to regain his prior physical condition as his attributes come in handy in this kind of league. McGinn was a solid player for us too bar a few shite games last season and he could play in more than one position. I hope we aren't persisting with the JDH/Newell (+Campbell if it's a three)midfield next season and Magennis seems to be made of glass unfortunately.

Looks like an exciting signing and was playing the same role as Boyle in the clips of him playing for Orlando so could well be his replacement. Replacing the goals of Nisbet and Boyle is going to be very tricky, but bringing Mueller in would alleviate my worries a little. Of course we'll have to see whether he can adapt to Scottish football. I'd like to see us move for Rudden too if he's progressing before his value skyrockets. Still hopeful McCart will come in, as for Odoffin apparently he's better with the ball than Gogic and a goal threat in the air but seems like overkill to have Gogic, JDH and Odoffin all competing for that position. Gogic did very well last season and I thought we noticeably stopped much more of the opposition attacks when he played. I guess JR might not see JDH as the holding midfielder? Irvine got some stick for a few of his performances but I think we may actually miss him, thought our midfield improved when he stepped in. We really need Magennis to step up this season and avoid injuries too. I have a feeling we will go for McMann too if Doig goes. Although folding to the English teams who are telling us to lower the price could be daft if he keeps improving this season.

1. Scott Allan - chubby baller, magical player on his day, best reverse shroo balls you will see at this level for a decade. Reminds me of wee Russell Latapy at times. 2. Ofir Marciano - I think he has the best reflexes of any keeper in the league, form last season was superb, been dropped for Maxwell though recently possibly due to distribution and being beaten at the near post a few times. 3. Florian Kamberi - Very skilled, dynamic striker with a powerful shot, confidence player and we don't give him decent service from the wings though. Ryan Porteous just misses out as he's had a long term injury so hasn't played enough but looks like he has the raw ability to be a top level defender.

I'm holding back on the seethe at loaning out Mackie in the assumption that we are in talks with free agents who can cover left back, holding midfield and a Striker. Wasn't James considered to look uncomfortable at left back in pre season? Maybe the plan is to put him in the defensive midfield role.....but we'll probably just continue playing this 10th rate knockoff Kloppball crap and keep pretending Mallan and Vela are 'highly mobile' midfielders who are capable of protecting our defence and winning back possession. Naismith is proven at this level at least, Peterborough fans seemed to reckon he always gave 100% if not the most skillful or the quickest of players.

That was dire. I'm never usually one to jump on the 'sack the manager' train a few games into the season but another insipid performance against a side with significantly less resources than us to recruit and I'm pretty much there. Paul needs to pull a few miracle signings off to save his hide because this team has no fight in them whatsoever.

When is Porteous due back? After todays shambles him, Jackson, Gray and Lewis should be the back four as soon as they are all fit. Slivka and/or Murray need to be given a chance to take the jerseys of Mallan and Vela. We need to bring in someone with quality who can protect the back four. Middleton will be straight in to the team over Newell.
