Tanser as the oldest available defender (other than Booth, who isn't on the list above) is quite something. Not a lot of nous among that lot.

We are so far beyond fucked. The defence is shocking, the attack just isn’t clicking and we can’t even score the easiest avenue of goals - penalties. 

Has anyone on here ever pulled together the stats over a longer period? Penalties seem to have been a regular struggle for Saints over the years, barring some spells with competent individuals like Sandaza.

Hemmings has been a pretty consistent goalscorer and appearance-maker across all levels he's played at, bar a relative struggle in England's League One. I can't imagine Wright would have done anything but jump at the chance to get him on board if the opportunity was there and the terms were realistic - assuming we ever had a sniff ahead of Dundee. He certainly looked a safer bet than 2019 May. Quite disappointing.

It's a funny one with Weir. I think during his playing career, most Saints fans would have said he was a sure-fire candidate for a hypothetical hall of fame. Maybe time hasn't been kind to him in that regard - particularly as we've had numerous better defenders over the past 20-odd years (including several of his own contemporaries). No issue with his induction personally, though.

Dave Mackay as cup-winning captain is difficult to argue with, although perhaps it would have been more appropriate a few years down the line.

Negatives on him from Rangers fans seems to be he doesn't like the dirty side of the game, so maybe doubtful that he'll be thrown in on Sunday but equally, we need to keep and use the ball better against them. 

Seems to have played very little senior football for someone who isn't especially young, but you can't beat a good direct free kick.
