Two of our biggest games that will shape our season, let’s hope we get a vast improvement…….here’s bloody hoping

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. You have still not sorted your midfield and if you try to play thro that midfield that is madness. Also midfield imo is Peterhead’s strongest area of the team  with Brown there. Therefore I cant see there being any change,  ie another  loss.  Hope i am wrong , as want them no further  away from us after tomorrow’s game!

I think everyone knows, Rennie must have the most uneviable job in football right now, he might have brought in 6 but i still think he is living in hope in trying to get a tune out of some of whats been mentioned in which he probably has a better chance of getting the lottery numbers than that one happening.

Who in the f*ck thought appointing Holt as a DoF a good idea needs their balls booted he has to have winged it and just thought f*ck it they are good enough

Take your point. But all the posters are saying your midfield is woeful. So why play tit tat football at the back when you have a poor midfield that you cant play thro. No tactician but with Kabia and Dowds who can run down the channels  and have pace, even if they lose the ball, the game is played in the right part of the football pitch- Arbroath are doing rather well using those tactics.🤷‍♂️

Times up for the manager, this is purely a football opinion

Based purely on football , that seems mad. We  were competing with you in league1 and beating you. The improvement he has made to your team is extraordinary. Its typical for a team in the second season  in a higher league to hit problems, fall back before moving forward. Be careful what you wish for. You have had plenty managers who have set you backwards, like us. Again only talking from a football perspective

Time to accept we will concede goals and set up to score as many as we can and win 5-4 every week 😂

4132 for the rest of the season

We took 2 pts off QP today- have to say they are not that great. Actually think you guys were better against us.

But as you all know, and  even Stevie Wonder could see that  your midfield isn't good enough- You cant win games of football against the better teams with a midfield that can be easily dominated. Just be our luck that you sort it for Saturday.

Morrison confirming on Instagram he’s had another injury setback. Real shame for the lad as he’s not managed to get a run of games all season.

So sorry to hear that. Came on loan to us from Hearts after major injury. Was rapid fast, but final ball was always lacking in quality. We put that down to lack of game time. Seemed to play well last year  for you guys , but again plagued with injury. Wish him well - certainly a player there.

    Wish him well.

Whereas I dont agree with those who say, "We haven't won away since..." meaning we're unlikely to win here. Does that mean we'll never win away again??. I do agree that I cant see us getting out of this & decisions made before a ball was kicked meant we'd always struggle this season, before selection problems for various reasons kicked in.

The last 2 games which have provided shut-outs, have seen us with a back 3. I'd keep that. Not seen Healy, but if he's as fast as people say, maybe the manager's idea of bringing him on for the last 20 mins to run at a tired defence would seem logical.

Personally, I'd like to see us with Semple & Connell up front, starting. You never know in football, but a win here would give us unguided optimists another couple of weeks of, "You know what, I think we could still do this!" material.

Winning away has always been a real problem, now we have added to it, we can’t win at home either. Last 6 games, 4 defeats and 2 draws. Sorry but this is woeful , don't think we have improved at all under the new manager.  Expect nothing today- go on surprise me!

If Dundee have offered him a highly incentivised deal that would potentially have made him their highest paid player (if successful), then I assume that our deal will be different and that we're just throwing money at him instead? Under those circumstances, what's the chances of him turning things around and getting fit enough to make a difference to us? Very little I would have thought.

I don't agree that it's a gamble worth taking if it's going to cost us a fortune.

In league 1, even an unfit Griffiths will score for fun. His free kicks at Dundee alone, eg the one against Aberdeen this season was sensational! Re economics, everyone will guess. Thats where you have to rely on the new BOD  being smart and sensible.

Strange one, presume we’re paying him a very pretty penny....

Dowds and him up top now I presume - might we please see Kabia in midfield instead of Mcguffie? Imo Kabia is such an exciting prospect. Finally a player who isn’t 5 foot 8 and slow

Wow-Dowds energy and Griffiths skill- lethal combination. However- just dont seeing your midfield being effective?

Possibly mate, I’d expect any businessman like Sim to always negotiate to try and get the best deal but at the end of the day we entered the contract eyes open, we weren’t conned out of our money by Ali Dia we knew who we were signing. As much as it sticks in my throat to pay him this money.  On this rare occasion Goodwillie will be in the right even if demands the full amount. We’re the ones breaking the deal whether the reasons are justified or not.

As an EF fan I have really admired the RR fans how they have reacted - changed a dreadful decision. 👏👏

But you now have a decision to make. Carry on and your club is dead. Not sure that is smart.Change within the constraints , is smart, learn  from mistakes. Sim, and whether you rate him or not, has saved your club with his money. ( We would of loved such an owner) Now , if that is unacceptable, so be it, see you with us in league 2.

Now I have never liked McGlynn . He is smart, know his football, and even worse he always came across as a good guy! Sponsors,Val,  with their political follies, really don't  add that much value to the club- sponsorship is a round of drinks in the corporate world. Let them go, the core is the fans, don't be a pawn in a wider agenda. Take your club back,

For me, appoint a new chair, get the fans back, but give McGlynn and Sim the opportunity for redemption, forgiveness. If not then stop talking, kill the club and follow the ego of Val….

Even better , join us EF fans in our living nightmare…..???

Time is not on Rennie’s side. If the only aim is to finish 6th 7th or 8th then fine, but I think we can all see 4th looking less and less likely with each passing week.

    P6 W2 D1 L3 P7 is a mile off.

Like the last three or four years, we are left with “maybe next week, it will get better”. It just doesn’t feel like a team about to come good. Jacobs had a mare in the first half, ATS and Dixon gave away another comedy goal.
Salt in the wound had to be McGuffie’s performance. I don’t really get bringing in a player totally ineffective as a wing back, and watching him be just as ineffective in a midfield role. Baffling.

Time for Rennie to take stock, and re-assess. I honestly do not think he knows what his best XI actually is……I am not sure anyone does any more.

Having only watched you twice this year, i agree with most of the posters, unless you sort midfield, ie bring is a hard tackling and ball winning player to supplement the likes of Telfer, you wont beat the top half. Rennie comes across as a smart guy. It seems like he has sorted the front line and the defence , he must know the midfield in not working and therefore it affects the defence and the creativity for your forwards. Thought you were signing Liam Craig, who would fit that bill perfectly?

The frustrating thing is Sim is utterly minted and will absolutely have the cash to pay Goodwillie off but he's a stubborn auld c**t, much like McGlynn, who seems like he's one of those 'I know best/won't be told what to do' type characters.

Its the definition of the ultimate self destruction. Only a couple of years ago we were confident that we could be beat you- after breaking the long hoodoo we did and draw regularly. Under McGlynn you kicked on remarkably, played attractive football, were miles ahead of us, and were that close to the unbelievable prize of promotion to Premiership. I think you get the Celtic.  Draw in SC, plenty money, raw ambition takes over and you destroy everything built in the last few years. Couldnt make it up. However, the RR fans have been amazing and all credit to them. Forget those who seek political opportunity, RR fans have stood up and said our values as a family club are more important than anyone’s ambition, hollow victories. Respect👏👏👏

There needs to be some thought put into how the fans can rescue something from the wreckage of the club. Whether it's just the club registration and starting again in tier 9 but if this is allowed to go on, there won't be a club left.

Seriously, speaking with a cool head, that clearly the BOD did not have with McGlynn. Keep the pressure up, you can largely solve this . The Directors cannot ignore the uproar, and actually it will show the Raith fans did not accept winning at any costs, that the fans really do believe they have family values and will stand up For those, at the cost of hollow victories.

i know it doesnt  feel like it now, but the fans of RR have won a lot of support from other fans and wider public. You can salvage this wreckage, but you need to keep the pressure up imo.

Is going to the games when he's not in the squad allowed?

😂. Seriously, None of us should be making moral judgements, particularly us fans of other clubs.Do what you think is right is my advice to my Raith pals. Show your displeasure, in  the way you think best. The club was here long before these idiot custodians arrived, and guess what will be there long after they leave.!No doubt the club has gone backwards which is so weird when you could almost taste further success at the club. The danger of raw ambition…!!!!But its your club not theirs.

God, this hasn’t half brought out the morons in our support.

Agree with what someone else said earlier, McGlynn in that post match interview has the air of someone who knows he has fucked up. He was a hero at this club prior to this and could have walked away and been loved for how he’s turned us around twice. Now that legacy is fucked. He’ll always be the manager who signed Goodwillie and ripped our club apart. Even if the club see sense and backtrack on the signing, this will always remain a stain on McGlynn which is an awful thing to have to say.

As for the 4 fuckwits on the Board who rubber stamped this, the sooner we get these morons out of our club the better.

So agree with this. Really sad. McGlynn has done an outstanding job for you , a really descent guy, sees this as the best opportunity in a long time to get promotion to the top league , and makes a woeful decision. The prize had clouded his judgement but that is where the cool heads in the Board come in. They are as culpable as McGlynn for this poor judgement. No idea what happens next, but this cloud will not lift quickly which ironically is likely to sabotage your chance of promotion- the purpose behind the ill fated original decision. A true Cluster F- ck!!

Sorry, had to say it. But I do really feel for decent Raith fans who must be wondering what the hell just happened.

    Thats better.

Really feel for the many good Raith fans- woke up to a nightmare that isn’t going away. Got the draw away to Celtic, suddenly were presented with cash they didn’t budget for and the prize of promotion clouded their judgement. McGlynn has shown raw ambition, at any cost, is a powerful sin and as I said clouds good judgement. Maybe also, a wee bit arrogance that he had built up such goodwill( sorry about the pun) he could do anything.

Cant see the current situation continuing. If the contract has to be terminated, think McGlynn position os very difficult. Their season re promotion imo is over, one less competitor for you guys.

Think i’m still in the denial stage of the grieving process. I keeping thinking “nah, there has to be some mistake.. they surely never paid actual MONEY to sign David Goodwillie?? Rovers wouldn’t do that, that’s mental!”

If McGlynn pushed to sign him in the first place then I don’t see how he can also continue at the club. A colossal error in judgement.

Actually think you are right. Which is truly mad. He always had good judgement but fatal flaw- allowed the prize to cloud his judgement. That being said, that is where the Directors come in with the cool head. Many to blame. Don’t think McGlynn can survive if the contract is terminated- which is a great shame as excellent manager and comes across as really descent guy. Ambition  , at all costs, can be a terrible sin. Sad all round really…

Surely if you are Goodwillie and had any remorse at all for what happened why would you want all this brought back up again and in the public eye again? Stay at Clyde, keep head down and keep rebuilding your life back while demonstrating remorse and regret. He could have rejected the move just the same but the offer should never have been on the table in first place. Shame on anyone at the club who sanctioned this.

Now the victim will be re living this over and over again and back in the news..

    Our main sponsor gone

    Fan base alienated

    Community football programs in tatters

The feel good factor at our club now gone.

The hard work done by all to get us where we are last 4 to 5 years undone in an instant.

Actually feel for many of the fans here. The anger will not go away. I can see him banging in 10-15 goals and can you imagine the divide amongst the support when they see his name on the back of the teams shirt?

  18. 8 minutes ago, SirJimmyofNic said:

Ohya fucker, Well we wanted a proven goalscorer, but at what cost to the club, I hope it works out but this could be the nail that holds McGlynns jacket on the wall coming loose

Really surprised by this. A club that of late has done really sensible things, but willing it seems to do a deal with the devil  to get promotion. I feel family club is often an exaggerated claim, but Raith have without doubt blown any remote claim to that now. First, but really huge mistake by McGlinn.

Looked to me like he was carrying a sizeable arse through treacle the way he was moving around. Agree his service was poor but I just don’t rate him at all. Stick me up front this Saturday and not only will I do a power of running for 90 minutes, I’ll also do it for free.

Looked like carrying a sizeable arse, maybe you were looking in the mirror? . Get down to the ground and show Rennie and co your power of running or GTF!😂😂😂

Dowds was stinking yesterday, almost as bad as Telfer, but not quite.

Amazing. Dowds plays great for Arbroath gets SPFL player of the month in December scoring something like 4 goals in 5 games. Comes back to Falkirk and after scoring 4 goals in 2 games becomes”stinking” again. What happens at Falkirk?

  21. 3 minutes ago, Harry Kinnear said:

I think as a fanbase we are going to have to display something we are not renowned for and that is patience. The board has taken over a club that for that past 4/5 years has been absolutely rotten and in turn Rennie and Miller have been in the door 5 minutes and we have to give them time.

To expect Rennie to turn our team round in 6 games is madness, especially given how hard the January transfer market is. We have a squad that is littered with players who quite frankly shouldn’t be there but they have lengthy contracts which is down to the mismanagement of Holt and Sheerin.

Rennie is right in that we have to try and get a settled team on the park, especially in defence. It may be the case that we are going to have to suffer a bit more pain before things start to turn for the better. Against Montrose we had a keeper playing his first game in a while, a defence that has never played together, a midfield that was lightweight and has far too many similar types of player and an attack that has previously played 45 minutes together. When you look at that it’s surprising Montrose never leathered us.

We have to give Rennie time to try and turn this round, I’m no fan of the contract to the end of the season. I would prefer to give him the time to get a squad together between now and the summer that doesn’t just get us up but has the bones of competing in the championship.

Montrose are a good settled PT club. Arguably the second best in Scotland these past Few years after Arbroath. When you played us last week, I felt your biggest weakness was actually not your defence but your midfield and that was against us! I predicted unless you changed it Montrose would dominate with the likes of Ballantyne. I think you signed someone in the morning of the game( so manager probably thinks that as well), but still playing your no 6, and other light weights, would mean you would be  dominated in that part of the field and your  forwards would  be starved of descent service.

Your manager seems smart and would not be surprised to see some more additions in midfield.

11 games without a win and thats’s 5 games without a goal now and only our 2nd clean sheet of the season (the other also coming against Peterhead).

    We are on a roll…

We somehow need to find a way to win. The difference between draw and win is small- but its still a difference and we cant bridge that small step.
