  1. No fan worth his salt would do that would they? If you got beat 6-0 off Rangers or Celtic would you be full of praise for the opposition? I’m guessing not as that would probably be an expected result. So why would arguably one of the worst results in our history be met with making sure we gave out platitudes. I’m sure Queens Park are revelling in their victory and then some.
  2. No you don’t. It was really just a bit of a teasing comment rather anything that needed too much analysis. However, the bus loads of Rangers and Celtic fans leaving various Scottish towns including Falkirk is a bit soul destroying which you may or may not agree.
  3. It’s not the worst idea. Before today I would’ve said don’t be ridiculous but we’ve hit rock bottom and like you said, he would no longer have anywhere to hide.
  4. Twice Totten got us out of a hole. To think Hughes was available and could’ve done the same.
  5. Basically since Houstie uttered those words it’s been a disaster. It was right for him to go though not all his own doing. Today was a nadir. Get Rice in until the end of the season and take it from there. If he fails (basically by trying to somehow to improve our current league position) then maybe Kerr next if necessary. We are a train wreck of a club that is in “salvage something” territory.
  6. Getting murky here man. Let’s face it, if we’re playing Clyde we’re watching the guy play too. Things are dire enough without this rubbish.
  7. I think this is the first season where any excuses from any angle well and truly ended: 2016/17 - after such a great previous season, a repeat performance was always unlikely with a couple of key losses from the squad. 2017/18 - Houston announcing his pending departure always undermined his position which, in turn, probably affected on-field performance. Hartley repaired the damage to maintain Championship status. 2018/19 - terrible summer transfer window which produced terrible results leaving us adrift. Almost escaped relegation still. 2019/20 - Despite some lows (a couple of real lows), we could’ve still gone toe-to-toe with Raith until Covid hit. 2020/21 - Top for a good while until the wheels well and truly fell off. And to this season, the season where fans thought anything is possible now….League 2, Lowland League….
  8. They don’t want you to be just seething with your team though. These trolls want so much more.
  9. I don’t think there’s a seethe. We know we’re shite. We fully expect to be ridiculed. So where is the seethe?
  10. I take your point about trophy haul. I was coming from - average league placing from way back when the leagues started. Or in the lifetimes of many fans, I think it would be fair to say we are suffering a very bad patch. We may become another Clyde but I think for many fans, this still feels like a blip in supporting the club. It is getting ever closer to being a lost cause.
  11. In purely historical terms, probably about 3rd or 4th in the second tier or about 14th overall in the country in a given season, considerably lower than where we are. As you probably know following your team is about your history of following that team and memories too. Or is the question you posed not really supposed to be answered?
  12. No point having fans then is there? Such a clinical way of looking at things but knock yourself out.
  13. My day has just got a whole lot better. Derek McWilliams is the latest guest on “Walking Down Hope Street”!
  14. Agreed with all of this apart from Hartley’s first season and the “hardly put a foot wrong” comment. Yes there was the 6-1 Dundee Utd game but the wins against perhaps the worst side ever at that level (Brechin) and 3 wins in dead rubber matches really did bolster an otherwise indifferent first season (albeit on the back of Houston’s bad start). Incidentally, Bannon’s league record was 9 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats in his 20 games in the second tier so pretty average overall but not disastrous form.
  15. I honestly feel if we didn’t have such a stupid, yes stupid, stadium (outside of the town too), Brockville wouldn’t be missed as much.
  16. What are older fans thoughts on Peter ‘Silky’ Hetherston? Not directly comparing the two but was he like a Louis Longridge, a good game every 5 or was there more talent there? I started going to games when him and the team were going like a juggernaut in 90/91 so i have favourable early memories of him. He went on to have a decent career too.
  17. Any part-time team worth their salt, is a daunting prospect for this squad.
  18. Yeah, Lambie we were bad in the Premier League and with Bannon we still had some popular players at the club. This is beyond bad.
  19. Aye same pish but he’s enthusiastic and has other strengths too. Too many clones out there anyway.
  20. We had an excellent chance to rebuild after Hughes as we were still in the top flight and we blew it with the May appointment.
