  1. I would make it four years. Houston/Hartley season was papered over by the worst team ever in the top two tiers in Brechin City and three end-of-season wins.
  2. Obviously, if the content is threatening or of a personal nature then it would be unacceptable. If it’s stuff like “get the f**k out of our club” or “you/the BoD are ruining our club” then he needs to take that stuff squarely on the chin to the point that he doesn’t bring it up on the radio!
  3. Nevermind Rangers and Celtic, there’s the EPL to be devoured too for youngsters. My nephew is part of the local youth set up but Falkirk FC is of very little interest. Me at the same age and I was all over all things FFC because, well, I didn’t know any better but it was also entertaining under Jeffries. I think the area is too big population wise now to see sub 1000 crowds like the 70s but I could certainly see 2000 being a stretch the way it’s going.
  4. Talking about not buying a season ticket then buying one in this period of the clubs history does seem to be a complete act of folly. Working some weekends means I’ve always been a PAYG fan so I’ve never got into the habit of buying them so it might be easy for me to say that but surely a line needs to be drawn.
  5. The wheels have come off this season. However, it’s still relatively new territory for us. There probably isn’t part-time football looming so we still have an expectation of getting out this league (up the way) sooner rather than later. Being a new Airdrie (Clyde is another story) does still seem a good way off but then, it could sneak up on us as we’ve become resigned on this page in 2025. Or, we could be like Dunfermline and get our act together in one season and enjoy the more familiar surroundings of the Championship. I was going to say we’re at a crossroads but it’s not as dramatic as that yet, it’ll either be we'll get our act together or play the waiting game until part-time football is here.
  6. This is where I start to maybe side with the yflabs of this world. It’s not just crowds is it? What about revenue, stadium, honours, general league history etc??
  7. I can add to this by referring to that interview he did with Ian Fergus. He was talking about equipping young players in life who don’t make the grade. That sort of thing is surely big league stuff, not a barely middling club like Falkirk. Yes, there’s a way about going about things but it’s just excessive. I probably wouldn’t have brought this up but, as you said about the “they’re learning” comments, it doesn’t even add up when you consider the current crop of young players currently in our playing squad. Thing is, he says it with conviction. You couldn’t mark his neck with a blowtorch.
  8. Nah, Killie and St Mirren are bigger than us. Motherwell too goes without saying. I’ll have Dunfermline and Partick though as similar size.
  9. Now we’re talking. Not a pishy GIF in sight either.
  10. By all means, have a pop. It’s the ‘going round in circles’ humour I don’t get.
  11. We know that. That wasn’t the topic though was it?
  12. Okay wise guy, you contribute. What’s your opinion?
  13. Chick Young basically jumped on something he said about “not nice things happening on and off the pitch”, mentioned he’s a “big boy” and “keep sending them as they just get deleted”. Not my usual style to do this but I think it’s worth mentioning what we, as fans, are up against.
  14. Talking about the unpleasant emails he’s been getting from fans in recent days.
  15. That Gary Holt interview on Sportsound: ”The emails just get deleted” Get out!
  16. Like others, f*ck the erring on measured approach and keeping 2-3 players. Get them all to f*ck.
  17. I think the Alex Harris signing is worthy of inclusion too. He was the main signing along with Loy that summer and he was woeful. A real watershed transfer window.
  18. My exact same problem. I didn’t even have the rollercoaster of the late 80s to deal with, just straight in with the class stuff. In fact, the only lowlight of that season that I witnessed was the 2-0 home defeat against Raith when he wasn’t playing.
  19. Swore to myself that I’d never get taken in by a ‘marquee signing’ after Sammut so I wasn’t too enthused by Alston coming back. Putting past exploits aside, it looked like a typical downward trajectory signing.
  20. Just to add to that, maybe you can get away with players on the slide a bit if they’re a defender/defensive midfielder as they can use their experience. When it comes to legs in the middle of the park or attacking threat then I totally agree with you.
  21. ....oh goodie, another clear out... We’re bound to improve.
