it would be good to see if we could get some PCAs for next season.  There's a hell of a lot of boys in the Premiership and Championship out of contract in June.  Would be good to tie up a few of our lads on new deals too.

Agreed, but with us being mid-table shite (at best) right now its hard to see who would want to commit to that from a higher level club. So we will loose out with targets ending up elsewhere who are better prospects - even if we turned it round and got promoted via play-offs we will be again scraping about in the dross. Typically signing crocks or guys who have to align that their careers arent where they expected to be any more.

A forwards would be nice though preferably before Saturday so we can at least show some optimism that anyone other than Billy will prevent a cup embarassement

  2. Can anyone else think of a time when as a club we relied so much on only one forward player for goals and that there is such a gap to the contribution of the rest (zero). I've always felt in the past if we had an injury, suspensions or needed to change our play there was goals elsewhere.

This season league only - Billy 6 goals, Samuels, lodivica & Sheridan - f**k all

Last season league only - Billy 13, samuels, boyd & Oakley - 5

I do acknowledge we have had some contributions from likes of Shaw and Wortherspoon etc but I consider it a lot of pressure on the midfield to create, assist and have to score just to cover the lack of competence up front due to horrific recruitment overseen by 2 ex-international strikers no less!!!

Arbroath on first day, QP and Jags in December.  Think this is just fourth time?

Arbroath makes sense given geographical proximity, other less so and Inverness in early Jan just shows again no thoughts for the fans. I'm sure DUtd will bring a decent support (which is commendable) but I'm sure Sat afternoon without TV would have been better for all.

  4. I'd agree Boyes looks pretty solid and competent at this level whether he's ready to step up to Premiership level its not so easy to say. Definitely looks like he has potential to be a decent player.

Although it's also worth noting how bad some of our squad are its not a stretch to look decent amongst the dross and limited options.

Would rather keep him for the rest of the season than have the alternatives on offer

    - If you exclude all those times when they attacked, then they didn't offer anything in the game.

    - It was impossible for a borderline competent team to break down a team featuring such stalwarts like Kirk Broadfoot (67), because they were just too negative.

I'm not sure if the saltiness or the delusional nature of your take on that game is more enjoyable.

Great read. Please continue to visit this thread and contribute with such insights.
