  1. Aye, the campaigners went to all that expense to block a development that's nowhere near walking distance to their homes. You're stating it's nowhere near walking distance when the lad I've quoted below you states his pals walked from Holburn Street to Pittodrie. The new stadium is literally almost on the bypass. It's going to take me less time to drive there than it does Pittodrie and I'm a 12 minute drive at worst to Pittodrie on a non match day. If I leave bang on the final whistle I am lucky to be home for 1745. Again, there's park and ride a very short distance to the stadium...which is on a bypass. You've looked at a map and made a decision without taking in to effect any mitigating factors. King Street and the surround has thrown up some student accommodation over the years. Holburn to Pittodrie is a decent walk!
  2. Eh? I've never once said we're moving because of traffic? I've said that if Pittodrie was to be built now then a major complaint would be the traffic congestion. I'm stating that the new location won't have the same King Street stress to deal with. The Kingsford survey figures don't prove anything other than how fans get to the current stadium. You're adding 4500 as extra fans now taking motor transport. You're not taking account fans who will live within walking distance of the new stadium, shuttle buses, park and ride and buses which city centre pubs have already declared they will provide. Depends where you lived I guess. Surrounding areas have also had a fairly large influx of immigrants in the past ten years. Unsure if that's within the time frame you lived here.
  3. Aberdeen have a large following from outwith the City, due to being the only big club for miles. You'd be surprised at the amount of the city citizens that have moved up here to work in the O&G industry or to study.
  4. The stadium site is pretty much on the new bypass. There's already a park and ride facility in kingswells. There will be shuttle buses to alleviate some of the driving public. The roads around Pittodrie are more or less single lan per direction. We need the new stadium because Pittodrie is a shit hole and the mounting maintenance costs along with planning legislation make it impossible for a club of our size and finances to upgrade. Nothing to do with the traffic? I don't know anyone who walks to Pittodrie from their home. No idea how you can state 'many' folk walk there. Most will drive or get the bus. A high proportion of the folk in immediate walking distance are students.
  5. It's in the city boundaries and is a short drive from the city centre. Those who want to go will go. Those who don't will find excuses, as they do now.
  6. No idea what your point is? The City Centre is gridlocked before and after games. Nobody that doesn't arrive very early can park close to the stadium. Nobody who doesn't leave early can get home in a decent amount of time. Truly bizarre how many posts on the subject you have for someone who doesn't live in the city.
  7. Can you imagine the list of complaints if the location of Pittodrie was to be built for a new stadium?
  8. Based on what? I'd hazard a guess that the commute to the stadium for a large percentage of the fan base will be quicker.
  9. Why don't the authorities just release a list. If it's on the list, the club can't sing it. Non negotiable with no exceptions either. About as straight forward as it gets.
  10. The whole game in general he bullied our defenders. Not specifically for goals.
  11. No need to apologise. He destroyed us that day and was a lesson for McKenna that he won't get it all his own way. Looks like he had a purple patch at the end of last season though. Scott Burns is usually reliable with Aberdeen stories too, tbf.
  12. The first two words should be note before you look at the second sentence. Can't imagine we'd even look at Curtis Main unless we were offloading Cosgrove.
  13. Yet signing dreadful players has still seen us finish in the top 2 the past 4 seasons.
  14. Reynolds was a great servant but I'm glad to see him sign a contract somewhere else. Was positive he was going to sign for another year.
  15. I didn't read too much in to it. Typical defeated manager post match interview. McInnes is one of the worst for it.
  16. It's probably the first time in some while that several teams could make that realistic claim about their keeper.
  17. The BBC text page had Bonner demanding that Lennon get the job permanently now. Fans of every other team in the league demanding it too.
  18. Rangers are a very good counter attacking team. They look like they can score almost every time they are on the counter. the issue they have is that most teams won't set up against them in a manner that they can use this to their advantage. We've beat them three times and each time we've sat deep and allowed them to run out of ideas and resort to firing in crosses or blocking all of their shots. The times we've failed to win, we've tried an expansive game and been picked off several times. The goals they are losing that you've highlighted above are largely down to a lack of concentration when the onus is on them. Something you rarely see from Celtic.
  19. There's also Robertson and Tierney to fit in to the lads team.
  20. Apologies to jump in to your thread but the highlighted part is why I'm sure there's nothing in the Shinnie to **** rumours. The Hastie news is poor If true. Yes, he will be much better off financially in the short term but he's likely to end up at QoTS or similar in a few years going down that route.
