  1. If that's two hours and you've not changed the station or thrown Alexa out, I'd say she's taking the pish.
  2. Is there not enough discord in certain threads already?
  3. But are Johnson and Gove not on record as saying gas prices would plummet after Brexit?* *Yes.
  4. Empty shelves? Just line up the products, that'll be fine.
  5. Some powers, some money. That's the bloody problem. And can you stop the totally nonsensical 'blood & soil' gibberish.
  6. Imagine arguing against being an independent country. Imagine thinking being aligned with what's coming out of Westminster is better than being an independent country. There is no "better together". Is what we have at the moment as good as it gets? Look at the policies coming out of Westminster. We can do better. So it's a Yes from me again.
  7. Thought of Renton the other day when I saw this poster boy on the door of Barter Books.
  8. I had more than a feeling you were going to say that.
  9. Or tigers, as they're sometimes known
  10. Lecturers are (usually) delighted to have older students with life experience in a class. Guaranteed go-to to break any awkward silences in tutorials, bring so much to class, but you might find you're also the "go to" being volunteered to introduce trickier or more difficult concepts in tutorials. Education, eh? Wasted on the young
  11. Last minute cancellations. At 4pm we got an email cancelling tonight's Over Lunan event due to "Covid related reasons". So the open air sound & light show which involved walking between the dunes and on the huge Lunan Bay beach is off. It's mildly annoying to me but Mrs SL is like
  12. That's a fair summing up by @BinoBalls A very disappointing first half. It could easily have been 3 to the Binos but McCallum once again to the rescue. Most of our play concentrated on playing down the left with little success. Second half saw a much improved Forfar and smart movement saw Matty and Thomson cut through but a great save denied us the goal. Inspired substitutions by Stirling changed the game. Thought Meechan and Strachan were excellent. Steven Anderson, not so much. Doris? Why? The pie was a 4 out of 10 (the actual pie, not Doris).
  13. It's been mentioned earlier but Faye Webster's new one "I Know I'm Funny ha ha" is an excellent album. With great lyrics, fine tunes, and some tremendous pedal-steel work, this is well worth a listen.
  14. Imagine being like Haggerty and your 'go to' argument about Godley being binned is that it's about bullying and misogyny and nothing to do with people thinking it's because they see her as talentless, unfunny, and a caricature that has no place in today's 'cultural' world.
  15. Ironic that she was fronting Zero Waste Scotland's campaign to bin rubbish.
  16. Given our places in the league, points and goals scored this looks like it could be a tight game. Obviously hoping for a convincing Forfar win, though. And a good pie.
  17. Shania Twain is a distant relative of Mark Twain. Her album Up! is dedicated to him and the track 'Waiter! Bring me Water!' takes its title from the final words he uttered on his death bed.
  18. Agree with the handshake going in the bin but the fist bump goes in with it. Two of the most ridiculous "greetings" have to be the fist bump and the elbow bump. Nobody means it, it's just a wee show and anytime I've seen it happen it's accompanied with a guilty laugh or awkward smile. It's the tilt of the head and an 'awright?' for me.
  19. HIGHLAND businesses are recovering from the pandemic – but almost half say Brexit is holding them back. Views on Brexit's impact "were more negative than positive", according to a report released today by development agency Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
  20. Washing a car is very much like making love to a beautiful woman...
  21. That'll never get passed by the Uni Philosophy exam setters.
