  1. I'm correct. McLean is.not a first choice at Norwich.
  2. He was a phenomenal player but he spat the dummy when he wasn't guaranteed first choice in front of tosh mxkinlay and withdrew from.contention. Could have had 70 caps, outstanding player. McKinlay was good too tbf.
  3. If the game was refereed the way it is now with perfect pitches maradona would be unstoppable completely unplayable players had to literally assault him to stop him.
  4. Yes he would easily, you didn't see him did you? PSG want 265 for neymar, mbappe is valued at 300-350. Maradona was miles and miles better than these two, he'd simply www worth the largest amount of money the richest club in the world would be willing to pay for him. He could be the first billion pound player. I feel sorry for those that didn't see him, it's laughable to compare the likes of Ronaldo to him, talent wise he isn't on the same planet as maradona.
  5. “When Diego scored that second goal against us, I felt like applauding. I’d never felt like that before, but it’s true… and not just because it was such an important game. It was impossible to score such a beautiful goal. He’s the greatest player of all time, by a long way. A genuine phenomenon.” Gary Lineker “For Maradona to win a World Cup on his own, and let’s face it, that’s what he did as the rest of the team were ordinary, was an amazing achievement. He was the best player I’ve seen.” Glenn Hoddle “The best player I’ve seen in my life. He did things that didn’t seem humanly possible. When he was on top of his game, and even without training that much he was always in form, he was simply impossible to control. He decided matches alone, carrying average teams like Napoli, and Argentina in 1986, to glorious achievements. A genius.” Marcel Desailly “There will never be anyone like Maradona again, not even if Messi wins three World Cups in succession or scores a bicycle kick from midfield.” Hector Enrique “Some say Pele was the greatest player of all time, but not me. Maradona will always be the greatest. He won World Cup in 1986, narrowly lost in the final in 1990 and then in 1994 maybe would have won it again had he not been banned. The crucial difference with Pele is that Maradona wasn’t surrounded by great players; he had to carry the team himself. If you took Maradona out of Argentina they would not win the World Cup, but I think Brazil without Pele would still have won.” Eric Cantona
  6. They weren't a one man team but they were a bang average side with no right to be anywhere near the title, not even a top eight side barely top half. You never was them did you? Or maradona, so you really don't know what you're talking about. Nobody has had anything like the effect on a team since then that he did with that team, it was miraculous. They were relegation contenders when he joined them. They only had one other real top player careca who was handpicked by maradona.
  7. Lol. If maradona was 25 now he'd be worth at least £500 million.
  8. Cagliari are.from Sardinia not the South.
  9. Exactly, thats how good he was it was incredible.
  10. "Gary Lineker told a story here on Friday to illustrate why he has started to feel distinctly underwhelmed with Lionel Messi in this World Cup and suspects that the Argentinian will never get close to emulating Diego Maradona’s achievements in this tournament. It went back to Lineker’s days at Barcelona when he was asked to play alongside Maradona in a Rest of the World team against a Football League XI.": “Every player was in awe,” Lineker recalled. “He just had this unbelievable presence. “He got bored and walked out on to the pitch for the warm-up, juggling the ball all the way to the halfway line, and then he just booted the ball about 50 yards into the sky and it came straight down on his foot. Then he booted it again into the air. He did it about 12 times and never had to do anything other than walk. It was unbelievable. “It doesn’t sound that great but, when we got back to Barcelona, all the players tried it and the best anyone could do was three. He was unbelievable, by a million miles the best player I played with or against. It’s not meant as a pun but his left foot could manipulate the ball as if it were a hand.”
  11. There's a couple of minds at the start of this video agreeing with me. What would they know though eh
  12. Lol maradona against Phil jones. He'd still rip the pish out him now.
  13. I mean if anyone wants to tell me defenders today are better than franco baresi or midfielders are better than lothar matthaus I'm just not having it. These are the people maradna played against.
  14. Very similar, the physicality of the top sides was as good as it can be as it is now, technically top drawer and the protection given by referees was non existent compared to today. The game is a bit faster now and they play more games but that's the only real difference. The pitches they play on are much better now too.
  15. What I find funny is watching videos of maradona skipping last multiple.challenges that would be bookings and red.cards today as if.its.nothing and imagining how many of them Ronaldo would dive for. Pretty much all is the answer.
  16. You could but you'd be a tube. Maradona was utterly ripped, a supreme athlete, quick as f**k, strong as an ox, built like a tank with the balance of a world class ballerina.
  17. Started four leabue.games this season due.to injuries. He did not start the previous three.
  18. Celtic are not a team of note. His record of chance conversion is top.drawer against anyone.
  19. I don't think there's any doubt maradona is the best there's ever been. Anyone who actually saw him would agree. Serie A was far and away the best league in the world when he went there, far stronger than any other, in a way that no league is today. Napoli had never won it, no team from the South of Italy had. When he signed they had finished two points above the relegation zone the previous season, and he took them to two league titles. Similarly Argentina we're a fairly average side in 86 and he took.them to a world cup win. Nobody has ever.been able to elevate a team the way he did, Messi and Ronaldo aren't capable of that. If the.game was refereed then how.it is.now (which is largely because of maradona and Brazilian Ronaldo) he would have been unplayable, just completely unstoppable. He is also an utter legend in every way, the likes of which we won't see again.
  20. You attempted to, but failed, as I was entirely correct. Four out of the last six CL titles between those two. Have a wee think about that. I was wrong though when I said 7 CL titles between them, I obviously meant 9.
  21. Spurs taking the shaft from a vastly superior team, pleasing. Bayern are richer than any English club, it stands to reason they'd cruise this tbf.
  22. They respond by being good at it, that's the idea. You can press Real Madrid, Barca or Man City all you want all day long, they'll just pass round you. I didn't use it to justify his inclusion, and in terms of 'years old' you mean four out of the last six CL titles btw lets be clear, and a World Cup last year, not ten years ago.
  23. No, I used it to illustrate his quality as a player. Because he isn't as good.
