  1. I just meant if I’d heard Fjortoft alone was joining Ayr I’d be disappointed, but I could stomach it if Salkend and McGinty were joining him as has been suggested.
  2. Must be a different McGinty. The Morton one just hoofs it as long and high as he can, which admittedly is impressively long and high!
  3. I like Fjortoft but if we have to take the hit on him to also lose Salkend and McGinty then I’m happy with that. Throw in Blues and Orsi and I’ll start dancing round the garden now! Jacobs is also a loss but we did look better with the more creative McGinn in the play-offs.
  4. One positive for either Gus or another new manager coming in is the chance to build their own team. Due to the amount of players being out of contract and the fact those still in contract are mostly of a decent standard. Those out of contract are the ones who either split opinion or who we all agree should move on. This is outwith VT’s point about completely restructuring the set-up. I also don’t know if the player budget or wages are to change under MCT, I just think it’s a good opportunity for the new manager to shape the squad to suit his philosophy.
  5. I thought Montrose performed well against us and gave us a scare. So I then expected Airdrie to be a tougher match. Airdrie seemed very cagey though and were unfortunate with injuries. I was pleasantly surprised that Gus went to 3 upfront and we attacked for the whole game to such good effect!
  6. You've made My night Hursty, much appreciated!
  7. I watched the match on Ayr Utd TV as a Birthday present. I was gutted The Ton didn't win especially as I had Nesbitt and 2-1 win to make Me a few quid. However I really enjoyed the match and thought both teams gave everything they had to try and get the 3 points. I thought Nesbitt, Lyon, Strapp, Kerr & McCowan all played well. Morton were well organised and Ayr tried to play football. I've always loved Somerset Park as an iconic football ground like Cappielow so it was a great setting for My Birthday match. Luke McCowan is also my best pal's grandson so I'll try not to take it too badly!
  8. That’s a very decent squad, think I’ll put a few quod each way on Ayr to win the division!
  9. Point 2 should be split into two points and “account” should read “end the season”. No idea what happened there but hopefully you still get my drift!
  10. I’m not sure our individual voices will have the impact we need. I was thinking of a collective voice for all of us, where we can say together for instance “We demand a say in Reconstruction or we will withhold our season ticket money”.
  11. Neil Doncaster’s statement that “Supporters are the Fabric of our Game, without them our Game will die” is very true. How come then we are not involved or even consulted in the current reconstruction talks? Is there a way that we can have our voices heard in a meaningful way that will influence Scottish Football?
  12. I wasn't so much wrong about Peter MacDonald as I thought he'd be a decent addition. I just didn't realise how skilful a player he was, he completely won me over.
  13. Just having a kangaroo supper with a can of XXXX, thanks for asking!
  14. Were the two players recalled by Hearts getting regular game time? I’m maybe clutching at straws here but will take any advantage we can get!
  15. Shankland looked okay to me in a Scotland Strip in both matches, played unselfishly for the team and linked play well. Should maybe have been a bit more selfish a couple of times but the comments from his team mates were without exception complimentary and appreciative of his contribution.
  16. The Green Oak is one of those pubs which is absolutely jumping on a Sunday or even a Monday, Saturday seems to pass it by!
  17. Yeah could be right, as Hoppy was praising him up, whereas Salkend wasn’t sourced by him.
  18. I’ll admit I’m also unsure if McAlister still has the legs to play wing back, however I thought having Nesbitt in front of him would reduce his need to fly up and down the wing for 90 minutes. I’m also taking from Hopkin’s intention to sign 4 CB’s, that’s it’s a back 3 with one as cover. Perhaps McAlister could fit in there with Strapp at LWB?
  19. I'd be very surprised to see Hoppy play 4-3-3! possibly more likely to see something like this: Ramsbottom New New New Tumilty Millar Jacobs Lyon McAlister Salkend Nesbitt
