If the sfa/spfl are willing to extend their number of teams for a bteam conference that no one can vote for, surely they could make league 2 bigger and open up more promotion relegation places without any bteams? add 6 teams to league 2 for a 30 game season . Extended playoffs and promotion would make up for the six games lost. Perhaps some other system. or simple automatic relegation for club 42 and a playoff for club 41. Easier to go down but easier to return?

Maxwell should resign over this. It’s becoming crystal clear b teams dont work. England is now the best league in world football. Never a hint of a b team there. I bet leagues will be looking at pulling b teams out there league system in the next decade.

Soon as the pyramid opened up the Lowland league was the new bottom division.It's destined to be a really good league from now on with all the old established clubs and the best of the old Seniors and Juniors finding that that is their level. It's the lowland league clubs dont want relegated from now. I hope the good people of Albion Rovers arent too dejected today. Perhaps the people of Coatbridge might rally round and support their local club in better numbers from now. Rovers are at least sitting on a far bigger potential than alot of clubs.

Rangers finally understanding that b teams dont work in league systems for alot of reasons. It is far better to have a proper reserve league an loan out your better players to a level you want giving max development leaving clubs to find their level will have a big domino effect in greater standards up all through the league system to the top. The b team experiment could only go wrong. They field stong or weakened teams depending if their main team have a game. This could easily have an effect at the top resulting in the wrong team winning the league. All they have to do is withdaw the b teams from the pyramid and let Scottish football keep improving.

Could they not just revamp the other competitions? Revert the league cup back to a straight knockout and make the challenge cup a bigger comp with decent group stages? The b teams already get in the challenge cup and nobody would bother. Maybe someextra matches and cash for the smaller clubs here too. Keeps the b teams out the pyramid as there is no fair solution to them being there and gives them a meatier competition against even better sides. Everyones a winner.

60 clubs above those leagues and no significant big b teams would put clubs in the equivelant WOS or EOS leagues without any chance od going further Rangers and Celtic b finished joint 44th and 45th after buying their way in this season.It's a disgrace.

It means they have things to hide.They will only give you information if it suits them.

This is all about the old firm.They are trying to get Scottish football to develop their players for them at the cost to alot of clubs around the bottom of league two and all clubs lower. It isnt Scottish footballs job to help the old firms reserve players

Along with others yes this is isnt good at all.The b teams have to get thrown out there is no place in the pyramid for any b team.According to some though alot of SPFL2 support b teams and FAR worse the new proposed conference (which is far worse than just inviting in guest clubs to the LL for a bit coin). Where do Albion Rovers sit on this?

I suppose when you look at it like that .It also makes you think why they dont just tell the b teams to bolt. A couple of seasons being guests has only given them the chance to be percieved as a normal thing.They are a fraud.

It is what it is i suppose. i do hope Brechin find their way back eventually.I have a wee spot for them as i remember going to Brechin 0-0 Hibs pre season friendly in the early 80s when i was a bairn.I was quite amazed by the hedge.

Queens park B? Where would that team sit in the leagues if they were left to find a natural league position? One of the west of Scotland leagues? Perhaps not even in the premier division.

Its an unfair comparison. Had Spartans spent the season in league two and AR in the LL then Spartans would have greatly increased gates and AR even smaller. The fact Spartans already had a bigger average than AR whilst a league below says alot.

i thought the first half was even though rovers got the opener.Not sure why Spartans got a couple of bookings when rovers players didnt for identical fouls. Second half and Spartans clearly played the better football and could have gone on to win. I guess anything can happen next week though.On the evidence today and with a big crowd backing Spartans are a great club with a big future.

That’s just awful. It’s actually that bad that the clubs cannot vote for it. Get them in a proper reserve league. Any of two Aberdeen/hearts bs will always finish bottom two. The best Rangers and Celtic b players(who might get to paint the first team bench one day and get a ticket for a Scotland game) would be far better being loaned to championship/low premier teams for max development. This is a farce and b teams would ruin the pyramid. Are the old firm actually running the show?
