  1. Some of the boys who played in the Euros and raised their game against England have to be asked why they can't do it against anyone else. Judging by the Euros semi-final, it would be fair to say that England and Denmark are fairly similar in quality and yet tonight we never looked like beating the Danes, whereas we could have nicked the game against England quite easily. The players need to look at the badge on their shirts for motivation, not the other team.
  2. Is he really 26? He looks about 50, and his experience would indicate he's been around for a couple of decades at least. What do those who've seen him play reckon, a good signing? I can attest that the lower American leagues are fucking terrible, so that doesn't fill me with much confidence.
  3. Cheers for the update AHB. Not quite hard times for Shire this year but 5th or 6th looks to be about our ceiling.
  4. Yeah I need to sign up for Twitter or something now my dad isn’t going to games anymore. Used to be able to rely on BBC but obviously not anymore. Cheers pal, did you see the game?
  5. Anybody see the Shire game against the Sevco weans? BBC reported that the game was abandoned again, even though every other report was 1-0 to Rangers B. What’s up with them reporting match abandoned every time the lads play?
  6. They are back on the main results/fixtures page tonight Mac - seems like they finally listened to you.
  7. As a distant exile, it pained me that I lost my BBC goal update notifications when we were relegated and now the LL has completely fallen off their results page with unironic 'fake news' being circulated about the Shire.
  8. New Gary Numan LP is very disappointing after the excellent 'Savage' in 2017. All of the 'edgy atheism' shite should have been abandoned at school Gary, it's getting on my tits.
  9. Quite right, the OF do not give one solitary f**k about the national team or the development of any player who isn't on their books.
  10. Isn't that how the majority of teams in Scotland have to look at most games when they are in a different stratosphere financially to the two bullies at the top? Let them f**k off to the English league and let's have a competitive domestic competition that might encourage some attacking football.
  11. Agree that there is nothing positive to be taken from this game. They were poor, we were worse. The only positive I can see is that I was incredibly underwhelmed by Croatia and they look very beatable. England were far better than Croatia, but they may relax or play a slightly experimental side on Friday and a point may be enough against them if we can beat the Croats. That said, if Southgate goes with his most attacking side, we might get slaughtered.
  12. Theoretical answer - yes I would still be pissed off about it and I would also be incredibly surprised (it isn't going to happen). I agree with you to an extent - my club has voted for this horrible shite but the fans fucking hate it and we don't want to lose our wee team, so I'm not keen on the Charles Bronson messages.
  13. I met Bilel Mohsni when I lived down south and he was a cracking fella. This was before his days with Sevco so I don't know what he's like now but he was genuinely humble and funny as f**k when I spoke to him for a few minutes. His English wasn't great so we mostly spoke French so maybe that helped, but he seemed a million miles removed from the headcase that we saw on the pitch.
  14. I wouldn't say they were far better, but I think the point still stands - both didddies.
  15. I watched quite a lot of the qualifying matches over the last few days, and what I saw, especially of the home nations, reinforced a theory I've had since more and more overseas players started coming into the EPL and to a lesser extent the SPL. I watched England's game against Albania (who I would probably categorize as a similar level to Israel, maybe slightly below), and although they totally dominated possession, only scored two, with one being a gift. The one 'good' goal they scored was a typical British league goal - whip in a cross and have a big lad get in front of his marker. If they had done more of that, rather than trying to weave pretty patterns through mass defensive ranks they would probably have got 4 or 5. I see a similar problem with Scotland, especially against weaker sides. One, we give them way too much respect, and two, we let them dictate our style of play. I'm not advocating hoofball, but there's definitely room for some direct play and whipping in crosses to a big brutal Joe Jordan type. That probably won't work against the better sides, but that's where you play a press and counter. Too many players who usually train with technically excellent overseas players think they have to play like Barcelona or Ajax because it's an international game, and that's just not our strength (nor is it England's for sure). I don't recall the magical Tartan Army results being the product of 50 pass total football moves, but a lot of determination, physicality and a piece of individual magic - let's give these diddy teams the fright of their lives and go for the throat.
  16. Like craigie, was fully prepared for a loss today but not for a pumping. Hopeful that the bombshell is a decent manager, love Del but this ain’t it chief.
  17. Piss poor tonight. Gala rode their luck I suppose but we have to win games like these.
  18. If we play like that again we can draw anybody at home and it will be easy. C’mon the Shire!
  19. Great to see Shire on top of the pile even if it’s just for the one night. Can’t help but think what might have been if we hadn’t given those points away against Cumbernauld. Still there’s so many evenly matched sides at the top that we still have hope if a few of them draw against each other and we can nick some wins like we did against BR.
  20. Magic result for the lads today. C’mon the Shire.
  21. Saw Bunn when he was at Southend last year. Thought he was very tidy, some pace and an eye for goal. Very injury prone though.
  22. He looked good for Southend in preseason but has been awful since. Out of the team since Kiernan got fit and apparently not settling down south. All depends on how their new manager (more than likely Larsson) wants to set up, because they don’t have many more CB options. Seems like a nice lad, hope it works out for him.
