Pies are the main reason I'm going!

That brings back memories of me as a wee boy freezing, sitting on top of the barriers, getting a heat from a pie in a cardboard wrapper from the Riverside Bakery watching communist teams facing the likes of Paul McStay and Mo Johnston.

I still remember gawping in amazement as a small child seeing the 1987 Rangers home kit with the chequerboard pattern for the first time. My Matchwinner Accies strip looked pretty old fashioned compared to that.

Here's the new Accies home strip... General consensus is that is an improvement over last season's effort but again it is a stripey front with a solid back (last year we had red, this year white). I may be in the minority, but I like the traditional hoops. I think the solid back isn't a conscious design choice but rather a limitation of the Adidas templates which only allow for dye sublimation printing on the front of the shirt so continuous hoops are not possible. Puma has a similar limitation with their templates; maybe Germans don't like hoops? No doubt Accies have a good relationship with their supplier who in turn have a preference for supplying Adidas but if these relationships prevent us getting a belter of a jersey, then there is a reason to look for a new supplier. On one level it doesn't really matter but maintaining the traditions of the club, pleasing the supporters and even increasing revenue with sales of replicas can't be ignored. So, any suggestions for a kit supplier for next season that can produce a kit the fans will be really happy with? I'll start with a leftfield suggestion of Irish GAA favourites, O'Neills:

Some of the weans are still traumatised about Andreu going to St Mirren; talk like that will have them rocking back and forth in a dark room.

I'd like May so sign for St Mirren just to confirm my theory of Jim Goodwin engaging in psychological warfare with opposition fans after upsetting a bunch of nostalgic Accies by signing Andreu. Who else could you guys could sign to enrage more opposition fans? Bonus points for Old Firm raging!

I feel sorry for the lad that spent his hard earned on the ANDREU 22 flag. Only got half a season out of that.

Yeah, that is grim. No objections to the blue/green colours but with the red badge, another shade of red on the sponsors logo and the baby blue sponsor patch on the shorts, it just looks thrown together. If we are limited to the templates in the teamwear catalogue, at least make an effort to make all the other elements look good on the shirt. Here's hoping we get some appropriate width hoops on the home shirt.
