Really not a fan of the ‘If there’s nothing to say, don’t say anything’ approach that the media/commercial departments are taking at the moment. If there’s no signings to announce, then fine. However, for example, why would we not be more proactive in releasing the new kits in time for the schools going off, people going on holiday or for the first pre season game? I’m certainly not one to get hung up about what a kit looks like, but what does bother me is the way in which we conduct ourselves at times - it’s amateurish. A quick glance at other clubs’ Twitter pages shows daily engagement of all kinds, not just the odd 20 second video of half the squad in training. Even wee things like naff in-game graphics that look like they were done on MS Paint. (See midweek) We always seem to be frighteningly behind the curve when it comes to club media output. It all contributes to the bad taste that’s been lingering for the past couple of seasons.

We really do excel at sucking any kind of good feeling and/or excitement out the build up to a new season. Every single year without fail. Goodness me, this is tedious.
