  1. Going by transfermarkt...
    Doolan: 39 games, 6 goals, 2 assists, 447 minutes a goal
    Miller: 32 games, 10 goals, 1 assist, 267 minutes a goal
So undoubtedly, Miller did better based on the stats, but once you start to take into account the much bigger cost, then it's not really that much of an improvement.

After 32 games last season Doolan had scored four goals.

Had the budget allowed, there's no question that McCall would have brought Doolan back; he said as much when he initially returned and I had heard the deal was done to come back as far back as October.

How could the deal be concrete if it was dependent on moving other players on?

It sounds like some of us have heard variations of the same story. I heard that McCall had expressed an interest in bringing him back if , and only if, he wasn't able to sign a couple of other players he was targeting.  But he got what he wanted.

  3. Any suggestion we fell apart after MacKinnon was subbed is fanciful. The game naturally opened up as both teams pressed for the winner.

As for headless chickens, that label could easily be hung on Rudden. I genuinely can't remember him doing anything other than running into opposition players. I don't doubt for a minute he'll show up better when he's free from injury, but it was an uninspiring cameo.

  4. Some of our fans really like to chew on stats, so I've compiled a few for consideration. This isn't an attempt to launch an attack on/mount a defence of anyone.

My takeaways...Caldwell completely blew it in the summer after a decent enough second half of the season and was deservedly sacked. But McCall's now at the stage where excuses are starting to wear thin.

McCall's 17 league games in charge:

    6 wins, 8 losses, 3 draws

    21 points from 51

    23 scored, 30 conceded

Caldwell's last 17 league games in charge:

    5 wins, 7 losses, 5 draws

    20 points from 51

    25 scored, 26 conceded

Caldwell's first 17 league games in charge:

    4 wins, 9 losses, 4 draws

    16 points from 51

    17 scored, 27 conceded

League results from 1 January 2020 onward:

    0 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses

    2 points from 12

    4 scored, 8 conceded

First 4 league games in 2019:

    2 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses

    8 points from 12

    6 scored, 4 conceded

  5. Ride were excellent last night.  The 2 new albums stand up really well against the classics.  Glad to have passed the epilepsy test yet again during Drive Blind.
'15 Minutes' and 'Repetition' were a bit meh, but the likes of 'Kill Switch' and 'In This Room' slotted in seamlessly as did everything from Weather Diaries. I listened to Drive Blind with my eyes closed.

    DIIIV up next in February.

  7. He’s poor. Had a couple of appearances when Caldwell was in charge, and proved himself to be yet another Caldwell dud.
A bit harsh, no? He made a mistake against Ayr and got 15 minutes at Montrose.

In saying that, he must look absolutely horrendous in training if he can't force his way into McCall's plans. Wonder if Saunders' horror show yesterday will change that.
  8. Whats the score with Oware? Does McCall not rate him, as did Caldwell or is he some sort of disruptive figure.

    He's sh*te. And he's an arseh*le.

All of us eventually reached the conclusion that Caldwell was a dud (some admittedly far later than others), but he appears to have sussed out O'Ware *and* Bannigan.

The latter's lucky he still has credit in the goodwill bank, but I don't think I could go another game where the two of them pass the ball back and forward between each other.
