If that's the case then I'd expect him to be a Thistle player next season.
The furore over Erskine's departure is highly amusing in retrospect. He's gone from being a bit-part player at Thistle to a bit-part player at Livingston who's experienced a win on just two occasions.0 -
The rumour doing the rounds on the bus home yesterday was that McDonald has a player/coach role sewn up at an Aussie club plus a job as a pundit.
He's been phenomenal. Who was the last Thistle player to make such a big impact in such a short space of time?1 -

Does anyone know who wrote or sung the Partick Thistle F.C. Anthem below? Im trying to find out this for a scottish football show, as we have a band who wants to cover it but need to get permission from the songwriter of it to do so and can't find out who wrote it.
It's a great song and we would very much like to include it on the show. Any help or tips greatly appreciated guys.
A View from the Terrace, perchance?
Slacker's correct, it was Brian Welsh aka Big Welshy who recorded it, but it a riff on Billy Connolly's 'D.I.V.O.R.C.E'. Assume Brian will be able to advise you on copyright.

He read it on WAT like the rest of us.Who were the 3 you heard were coming in?0 -
That was a completely wild guess, btw. Gordon's Twitter suggests he's back training with the team, while Graeme McGarry's tweeted that Bradford are interested in Sammon along with "a few" other teams.

I would bin Gordon in general, we have many people ahead of him that can play his role: Bannigan/ Harkins/ Slater/ Penrice/ McCarthy/ Wilson and im probably forgetting someone.
Use his loan allocation for someone that we might actually use.
Gordon back to Motherwell with Sammon moving in the opposite direction.

So we are just pretending Chris Erskine doesn’t exist now?
Caldwell’s a w**k, even if he keeps us up.

You're pretending to be Colin Quinn, you f*cking weirdo.

Saying he didn't get a sniff when he did is not a difference of opinion m8.

You could have simply admitted that you were wrong instead of hammering out three paragraphs that I have zero intention of reading. [emoji1303]

Just had a look at that nine-game run without a win, of which Caldwell was in charge for six.
Caldwell gave Fitzpatrick his only start and brought him on for 30 minutes in two other matches. His only other appearance during that run was a cameo in Archie's last game.
He didn't contribute to the win against Dunfermline, but he started the next game against Alloa...and made no impact.
Caldwell's managed him well, imo. But that obviously doesn't fit the narrative of the #CaldwellOut brigade.

Aye, frozen out typically means failing to feature in match day squads and/or training with youth players. Don't think either scenario applies to Chris.

Just caught up with The Sun's piece on Erskine. How can he claim that he was forced out of the club and in the same breath say he'd been ready to leave since Caldwell first came in? That soundbite doesn't doesn't suggest he was committed to the club. It would to have been to everyone's benefit if he'd admitted that he fancied one last crack at the 'big time' and allowed us all to move on.

really hoped he'd be able to get back to his best with us.
But he didn't, and now he's moved on. And the world didn't end.

“I believe war to be the most uncomfortable environment in which a man could find himself..."
Okay...we're in Bros documentary territory now.3 -
Aye, fielding Erskine and Fitzpatrick would be the panacea for all our current ills. It's a pity that the fans are the only folk who recognise this.

You realise that the Chief Exec is responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, right?

Perhaps if Caldwell wasn't outwardly such a w**k people would be more prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
That approach has worked well for us before, eh?

This entire Erskine episode is fucking laughable. A couple of rumours painting Caldwell as the bad guy are being accepted without question while any alternative suggestions are being ignored. We're even entering crazy conspiracy theory territory in some quarters.

I've heard and read a few versions of the Erskine rumour, the latest being that he doesn't feature in the first XI that the manager has in mind, but Caldwell's told him he can make a positive impact from the bench. Whether that's good enough is up to Chris.
Erskine's been marginally better than a fair few folk this season, but not by any massive stretch. Tbh, Doolan's probably lucky that we've nothing else in that area or he might be in a similar position. He's been pretty poor for a season-and-a-half, but he been painful to watch at times this season.
Sentimentality is one of the factors that's contributed to our current predicament. I'm all out of fucks where player retention and replacement is concerned.

In my opinion I think Falkirk’s signings seem better.
A jobber who's already failed to make his mark in this league, a midfielder who's no better than those we have on the books already, a guy who Killie punted after about a month and the hat man...
"better"
