Your last point regards last years budget is funny. Especially as the Chairman who took over stuck with it, doubled down in January still hoping that balloon would get us top4, and then didn't make redundancies until the end of the season.

Sure, I'm not disputing that. But the person who said "slashing budgets is a false economy" is every bit as culpable as her. He set that ball rolling.

Back to your first point, I'm intrigued why you'd be willing to take that step into the dark without seeing the detail. I assume I know as much as you about the proposed manner in which the club will be run - very little - so I remain sceptical. A position I'd have expected you to adopt on past form.

It's only an omnishambles to the knickerwetting brigade on WAT who are demanding Beattie release a statement every time some hissy fitting "insider" peddles their divisive horseshit to the press.

It's almost like some folk cant let it sink in that theres such a thing as confidentiality and what's the words... oh yes, Company Law, that might prevent the Club and its suitors telling some keyboard warriors every minute detail of what's going on.

Yet Jim, who's all too aware of the restrictions imposed by confidentiality agreements, called on the previous board to issue a statement following a Daily Mail article containing no sources or direct quotes. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, Dave.

I can't understand why you and others - guys I'd expect to ask the hard questions - are hitching your wagons to a vindictive hypocrite and a guy who's about to ask us to take another leap of faith, with the only certainty being financial gain for himself and a few others.

A guy who failed to make some tough decisions when they were required, set the budget for last year and then seemingly disappeared into the sunset.

I notice no-one asks what charity work they are involved in with all their cash (not casting aspersions - I genuinely have no idea what they do, and don't care).

Next time, use the full quote.

    As I said... I don't care.

I'm not casting aspersions = I'm casting aspersions

I don't care = I care enough to question why no one's questioning their charitable endeavours

  4. 1.5M paid off debt.
1m went into a separate company, a company set up to benefit not just the club but the local community. he's effectively shut the door on giving hundreds of local children the opportunity to play football.
Could Thistle Weir be rebranded 'Weir Football Academy' with the pathway to Partick Thistle removed, but the door remaining open to kids who want to play football?

Quite.  But if it's true that Colin Weir has taken his ball and gone home in a huff because his pal Jacqui was removed from the board, then that's pretty pathetic stuff from the two of them, tbh.

Whoa, quite the 180 here. Colin Weir is now "pathetic" and lacking in class?

It's being repeatedly drummed into folk that it's perfectly reasonable for the old/new board to sell up and f*ck off, yet potshots are now being taken at the guy who's made probably the most significant financial contribution to Partick Thistle in the past 15-20 years?

Should have been booked earlier. Constantly in the refs ear. Using QP players heads as elbow rests.

You appear to be the only person in the stadium, other than the completely inept ref, who thinks that challenging for a header is worthy of a card.

The only player who was "extremely fortunate to stay on the pitch" was the lad who poleaxed Alex Jones. And I assume the guy who pulled Mansell back in the last five minutes was on a yellow and the ref sh*t out of sending him off - that's the only plausible explanation for failing to book him.

  7. No one is suggesting a "huffy teenager". The club didn't need to release a statement on this until the transfer had been completed, or if they felt obliged to in order to keep the fans in the loop, say something along the lines of "the club have accepted a bid from Norwich for Aidan Fitzpatrick which we feel matches the player's valuation. He is now heading down south for a medical and to agree personal terms thereafter". It's not difficult.

But it might not match their valuation of the player, so why would they say that? That appears to be the case hence the carefully worded statement that's been issued.
  8. Those criticising the statement would have preferred a huffy teenager on the books, aye?

The moaners are probably the same people saying the board shouldn't stand in the way of the rumoured takeover.

It's fine to stand aside for them if it's for the 'benefit' of the club, but the same principles shouldn't be applied in this situation?

    Our fans are f*cking arseh*les.
