  1. I’m getting no match fees for refereeing just now so, perhaps controversially, I don’t see how players - at this level - should still get paid. I’m presuming they’re not living off their wages from football, and can survive without it.
  2. The worst part is our pitch is finally playable for the first time since January 25th
  3. I reckon all seasons that run from around August to May are gubbed. The womens and girls season has just started though so they’ll probably be able to resume without too many issues. (The break in July might go though)
  4. Going by how many games some teams still had to play - my team included - before the suspension I’ll be surprised if this season’s not a write off. EDIT - @FairWeatherFan I have to agree with you on that, cup runs are nice but if we get started again I’d prefer the league season done.
  5. I think it was mentioned previously that the EoS might be tightening their ground restrictions now and Inverkeithing only got in as the EoS was desperate for members at the time, so didn’t mind about ground facilities too much.
  6. I think they’re in the ORIAM - which is a good distance from the pitch (not 100% certain though so correct me if I’m wrong)
  7. I’m not in Ormiston this weekend but despite some dry days this weekend the pitch has already fallen victim to the weather Ormiston P-P LTHV
  8. That’s something else. They say they were happy for it to be called off - until it was called off, and then they had a problem with that.
  9. That’s something that’s written into competition rules then, as the Laws of the Game say an abandoned game should be replayed “unless the competition rules or organisers determine otherwise”.
  10. Looking at those pictures it was without doubt the right decision. As a ref, I’ll call a game off if, even if the pitch is playable, it would be a farce to play in the conditions - and looking at the pictures it certainly would’ve been farcical to continue.
  11. Am I understanding this correctly? The 24 1st Division teams from this season, plus any new teams, are going into the appropriate number of conferences for next season? If so, I’m disappointed at that - but it is what it is.
  12. Ormiston v Glenrothes unsurprisingly is off
  13. Yep. It was the 3rd time I’ve seen them this season and they definitely weren’t at their best yesterday.
  14. Went to the game yesterday. Tranent could still have been playing now and wouldn’t have scored.
  15. I’m only going by your post but maybe he felt the Musselburgh defender’s arm was in an unnatural position - but the Linlithgow player could do nothing about it when it bounced. As a ref though handball is the bane of my life - the laws, in my opinion, are far from clear so it purely is your own judgement and I know I’m probably inconsistent in what I give. As for booking the Musselburgh player - not every foul is a booking.
  16. Cup game v Penicuik has now been scheduled for Tuesday 18th February with 7.30pm KO. Presumably this will be the first game under the lights?
  17. Seriously? The first few posts on this topic were interesting - what tangent have we gone off on now though?
  18. I am playing devils advocate a bit. I’ve not seen the challenges so the ref maybe was being an a**e, but I was just pointing out that any sensible player wouldn’t go charging into tackles in the same way if he’s on a yellow compared to not being on a yellow.
  19. At Ormiston u14s are free. 14-16 and 65+ is then concession, and 17-64 adult.
