The club are doing a great job in raising the profile. Seems like we are the must talk to outfit just now.

I might even break my Si Ferry boycott if reports are good. Others love it and fair play but not my cuppa coffee.

I don’t mind Si Ferry’s interviews, I actually think he’s really good at them. It’s his entourage I can’t stand. Folk like Slaney, Ferguson etc. thankfully this one looks like it’s just him and Murray.

In terms of Murrayball, I think there is a more of a middle ground to find at times. I don't remember many, if any, instances of it this season where launching long, 60-yard diagonals into the box has resulted in a goal from a knockdown or whatever. But that seemed to be the approach on Saturday and was more akin to last season's efforts.

Glad someone has mentioned this, the long direct approach to Jack Hamilton we have been using more since the Ayr game is not working, is very predictable and gives our opponents the ball back without them having to work for it.

Also, I think the main reason for Dylan Easton's dip in form is down to Sam Stanton's absence, they link up very well at times.

I just don’t like the 442, it doesn’t work. When we play a front 3 we have Easton and Connolly further inside where they can be effective. When they are pushed out on the touch line they don’t make much of an impact.

In other news, word on the street is that Vaughan has signed a two year extension!

He wasn't punted, his contract expired. He was in their starting lineup vs us the next week. I'm sure they'd have loved to have kept him going by accounts from supporters on here but seems he has his eye on full-time football.

Both him and Bird haven’t played in the same side since the incident. He played against us the week after because they had no one else. Since Bird came back from his suspension it’s been him that’s played and Hylton has been missing, then all of a sudden they part ways. Is that really a coincidence?

Im not sure Ashcroft is going anywhere tbh, maybe we are looking for a better left back as dick can play left cb ( some might argue he is better there) saw on Twitter rumours about hylton , if he is quick then there maybe some truth in it but who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️( not a bad return on the goals front for a team struggling)

Hylton got punted from Arbroath following his sending off for fighting his own teammate. While it may have only been handbags at dawn, I’d rather avoid that sort of disruptive influence in our squad.

I do wonder if Murray has a longer term issue that he's been playing through. He seems to have lost a bit of his physicality and aggression

I think so. I’ve been pretty underwhelmed by him so far compared to the dominant displays he produced for Dunfermline and Killie. I can only assume his shoulder injury keeps niggling away and is stoping him from being 100%

  6. Wrong formation/lineup today for me and Murray hasn’t learned his lesson from previous meetings.

Two centre midfielders isn’t enough when Airdrie are a team who like to play the ball around. We had four forward thinking players standing around wondering why they weren’t getting any decent service. Next time, we need a third player in the middle against them.

That has to be the most sensible post you have ever made on here....

Fully agree.  He was without a club first half of the season, so the thought of loads of chaps at his door now seems a bit unrealistic.  He has been in a window with us, but that's quite a limited window in the grand scale of things.
Would like him to sign, but in reality he is not going to be guaranteed as a starter.

I think in football, players stock goes up and down. When he didn’t have a club, he was part of a defence that had been relegated. Now, in his short spell with us, he’s impressed in a defence that’s top of the championship and has scored 3 goals from set pieces.

Being a goal scoring centre half for a team top of the championship will have seen his stock rise considerably (whether it’s justified or not)

  8. I thought we were outstanding today. We clearly had to play a very deep back line so as not to expose Kevin, this probably meant we suffered a bit from an attacking sense as a result though. Had he been fully fit, I think we would have blown them away today.

Scott Brown was an absolute warrior today and I hope that we continue with that formation. Him and Byrne are a joy to watch.

And the money aspect ? £15 online or if you are a family, 2 adults, 2 under 12s then its £56 plus travel plus something to eat there. You are saying people should go just because it’s close? thats great but not every family can afford that. Remember that.

I am fortunate enough that I can afford to go to away games and drive to them, but I am very conscious that not everyone can. Never mind the time of year. Calling out  fans for not going because it’s 15 minutes away is not called for

There’s a money aspect for every game though isn’t there? And we have managed record season ticket sales and also took a healthy away support to Tannadice the week before Christmas when money would have been tight (if you want to continue to focus on that aspect).

It’s the holidays, most people are at a loose end and will do anything to get out the house at this time of year. We have a local game that’s fairly easy to get to against the team we love to hate. I’d have expected nearer to the three thousand had we won the previous two games.

Some uptake for tickets for tomorrow, there will be blood and snotters on the pitch and the Cowdenbeath end will be bouncing.

I’m a wee bit disappointed with the uptake tbh. For a game just along the road when most people are off work, I thought there would have been more sold. I think the last two results have put a few off by the looks of things.

We had a few folk off the podcast on Inside Matchday, and it has to be said Grace and Ben are absolutely brilliant at what they're doing. One of those segments where it's quite easy to simplify but to get it done right is a different matter.

Part of the reason we managed to attract such a big crowd on Friday night, a fixture I thought would have been a tough sell so close to  Christmas, is down to the input people like them are coming up with week after week!

  12. I was massively impressed with Ayr United tonight and we were lucky to come away with a point.

They exposed the fact we only had Byrne in the deep lying midfield role time and time again. Mcgeady scored because of it and Amartey was lucky not to get one from the same area of weakness too!

Bad night at the office for a few of our players tonight but so pleased to see Vaughan get 3!

Slight concern that Byrne is now on 6 yellows, and needs to avoid one against Ayr or Arbroath to miss a suspension. Vaughan is on 4, and the only other player that can reach 6 within 18 games.

Thankfully we have Matthews and Brown able to do a job in that role should be need arise.

Sure someone said that Watson is back in training next week too! What a time to have a full squad back!

  14. A wet and cold December night up in Arbroath was never going to materialise into a football fest. It was always going to be a game we were going to have to grind out. We really needed Brown and Byrne in the middle of the park and could have put Corr in beside O’Reilly. I worry that if we only play one in the middle on Saturday then we might be in trouble.

Having said that, it’s very hard to criticise anything Murray is doing just now when he’s getting the results!

Was just going to post that too, I want to hear the managers take and indeed anything available on that performance.

Ended up next to the "choir" last night and thought it would break me for 90 minutes. Left smiling at kids getting exactly what a great football team should be giving them.

What a laugh it is watching Rovers.

You’ll get a good one on bbc iPlayer. Murray got asked about the bench celebrating the goal and replied with ‘better not tell Dunfermline about that’

Is the pitch not due for renewal soon? Hopefully the board has money ringfenced for it. Don't want it to end up like Livi's threadbare carpet

Livi’s pitch seems to come in for a lot of criticism by top flight clubs but I’m pretty certain it’s exactly the same surface as ours. Even installed by the same company.
