  1. Just watched the highlights. Callum says that he was pleased with the performance up to the goal. Not quite sure why as we did nothing and creating nothing. The goal was coming the whole game up to then.

And apparently Aberdeen ‘sat in’ after they scored. He’s not watching the same game the rest of us are watching.

    As easy a 1-0 as you’ll get.
St Johnstone’s tactics of spoiling, niggling & kicking their way through games is tedious.
    Considine should’ve been sent off.

    Fantastic free kick.

    St Johnstone will be relegated.

Davidson gone before the break in November.

Hope your last point is true as it will make your second last point more unlikely! 👍🏻

Davidson is even more of a moron if not more.   He rightly went off as he got off with one right before half time.

The time wasting and utter shan fest of football you boys played at home to a poor Hibs team must be very miserable.

Your players went down all game.  Murphy especially.  30 mins after the red card was happening every 2 mins.

I never mentioned any conspiracy either.

You’re spot on about our time wasting after the red card. It was absolutely embarrassing and another thing we wouldn’t have seen (or certainly not to such an obvious extent) in Saints sides of recent past.

Just another thing to add to the current list of embarrassments with our club really!

Porteous is a p***k though mind. He’s ‘at it’ out to con the refs more than most. There can’t really be any argument with that.

  4. What the actual f**k is this guy doing? We don’t need fucking McGowan! Average footballer and I always remember him being a bit of a c**t on the pitch.

As others have said, it’s like we’re signing players you might have taken 5-10 years ago.

Mackay-Steven is another. He ripped us apart at times when he was with United years ago but I take it those days are gone for him too?

I made a smart-arse comment a week or two ago about folk being overly negative. Well I’m apologising for that now because I can see that others were seeing what I refused to at the time.

My head is well and truly gone. Truly raging at this signing. What the hell is going on? Where does he fit in? Is he actually ditching Cleary after a red card in an ‘early season’ game? Surely not?

How is this guy allowed to sign all this dross as if adding these players will make any difference, when Tommy had targets and was rarely allowed to bring them in when he wanted?

The point about Broon taking the step back and all this now happening may well be correct.

    f**k this.

I don't think they're anywhere as upset about it as the fans are. It would have been done in the summer if there was a desire to do so.

"Stay in the division is our aim"

Spot on. This boils my piss. ‘Staying in the division is our aim.’ Says it all about a club that doesn’t aim high enough, even on the back of a cup double.

  6. Help me out lads. Is he shoe-horning guys into this 5-2-3 again?

                  Parish

    Brown Mahon Considine

    Gilmour              Montgomery

          Davidson Hallberg

    Carey                   Crawford

                   May

What happens if we lose another defender? Will he just throw another player out of position to play at the back?

A section of our support seem to genuinely think fans being negative is what caused us problems last season, and if we all just think happy positive thoughts everything will be fine this season.

If you’re referring to my comment, you’re well off the mark. Our bad season has nothing to do with the attitude of the fans. If anything, the support from the stands was commendable and helped the team through in the end.

And I’m not a ‘section of the support’. I’m just one lifelong Saints supporter making an observation that reading some of the stuff on here over the summer would get the most positive Saints fan into the depths of depression about the upcoming season.

It may well be a bad one coming up but if this is what it’s like before a ball is kicked, god help us what you’ll be like if/when we’re rock bottom after the first round of games.

Those ST numbers are pretty incredible in the circumstances. Was fully expecting a huge fall off!

Good to see some positivity coming from a club official for a change!

If ticket sales are true that’s great news, maybe an indication that not everyone is as negative as the negative c***s on here! 😀

But seriously, the FCU factor could be something to do with it. Despite the crap football, the atmosphere made it a decent experience at a number of games last season which otherwise would’ve been complete torture.

Any Saints fan saying that Montgomery is a good signing either wasn’t at our last away game last season in Perth or had their eyes closed for the first hour. He was shite overall for us in his spell at Pittodrie, but he plumbed new depths that night in the hour or so that he was on the pitch. What was Calum Davidson watching? Awful player.

Oh my god, THAT GUY?!! The left back who Middleton had a field day with? Aww naw man!!!

On a serious note it is the benefit the Championship side has in these games.

Teams finishing near the top have, generally, seen their club come from behind before and have faith they can do it.

If we go 2-0 down on Monday then every home fan in the ground is thinking that's it for us, as we've shown absolutely nothing to suggest we can recover that.

It'll genuinely be toxic if we go down, our support have bottled up any rage towards Davidson all season in the name of blind faith. It came out at Kelty but he managed to hide while his players took the brunt, I don't think he can escape it at McDiarmid very easily.

Agree. It will be ugly. And I think it will happen. ICT won’t be as bad as the first hour again and if we go even one behind I fear for us.
