  1. If all we add now is a left back and one useful midfield/utility player I'd think we could be just fine with that. Less concerned with keeping Leighfield in goals with better cover in front of him; he might even improve his game as a result.
  2. I don't think saving a few shitty weekly wages is the issue. Either we just can't get signing targets over the line or (hopefully) some business has been done and news withheld for a bit longer for whatever reason. Then again, it is Clyde, the club where bad news and disappointment is always just round the corner.
  3. Any Dons fans having a peek at this forum/thread must be astonished to see that the match is effectively "of zero interest" to us - financial implications apart!
  4. With 3 points for a win I would rather we don't test that theory!
  5. You are entitled to your opinions - whether they be negative, negative or negative - but now that you have done so ad nauseum and nearly everyone is blocking you what is left for you to "achieve" here? Surely there must be something or someone else that you have a genuine and meaningful passion for where you don't get up the nose of everyone you interact with.....or perhaps not...
  6. Bonnyrigg 0 Dumbarton 1 East Fife 1 Clyde 3 Forfar 2 Elgin 2 Stranraer 1 Peterhead 0 Spartans 1 stenhousemuir 1
  7. This Xmas I told lots of children there's no such thing as Santa Claus - just being honest. Can I be your friend, Mr Choo?
  8. No harm to Whyte in a general sense but hope his return to match fitness is delayed while we try to overtake Forfar. Also, I take the point about goal differences between us and the other stragglers but ultimately it only matters if teams end on similar points tally. A 1-0 win following a humping still trumps two goalless draws!
  9. You could be right, specky. Honours usually do get dished out to the least deserving twats in society.
  10. Every fan knew before the season kicked off we would be in trouble with a squad full of guys with neither experience nor ability. Blame lies entirely with an incompetent board and Jim Duffy who had completely lost the plot with his signings. We are putting things right but have little to no leeway to bed in whoever we are able to sign given our precarious situation. I believe we will come through, but only because there is enough dross in this league to make this possible.
  11. As a Clyde fan I've got to be pleased that we are (hopefully) building a useful squad now......but as a regular punter on Bet365 I will miss the easy money made from backing early and/or late goals scored which make Clyde an automatic pick every week unfortunately.

  13. Football is the main sport in Scotland and the only one I personally care to watch. But we are not world leaders at it - or even close - so if there are alternative routes to world recognition that's fine by me. Anyway, if people prefer other sports why knock it, their choice!
  14. Business is business. Let's call it bias rather than corruption. That being the case and bearing in mind we have to stay on good terms with the bhoys at GCC let's invite their most "businesslike" Councillor onto the Clyde board and only THEN make another application for a suitable site under their control. The time to act was in the 60s when it was clear the fan base was being decanted to the likes of EK and the club were clearly no longer wanted by their landlords. We are currently the diddy clubs' diddy club and unless there is some coherent gameplan and clear route out of this mess we may as well call it a day and join Third Lanark as another football sob story.
  15. If there is external funding as well as 30% unused budget being mooted it certainly begs the question why we have nothing whatsoever to show for it. Either lack of transparency or lying- take your pick!
  16. Wouldn't be my first choice but if Mark Lamont was still playing and available on loan he could be worth having to the end of the season at this level.
  17. I'd say Wylde might be the one dodging a bullet by going anywhere other than us!
  18. We "might" get Crownpoint; we "might" see investment money from this anonymous donor; we "might" get a pleasant surprise with McLean; we "might" see the injuries to key players clear up in near future; we "might" see some of the so-called duds improve; we "might" get a result from loanees in the window and a couple of experienced guys in January. I don't say the above with heavy sarcasm, but with the view (even if it sounds naive or over-simplified) that unless all the "mights" become "cannots" we have to keep the faith. Being bottom anytime isn't nice, but it is still much too early to write us off.
  19. Not Clyde's greatest player but "Breenger" sure gave it his all.
  20. I guess Jim Duffy isn't having a going-away bash....or if he is we aren't being invited? Let's hope (nay, pray) he keeps us in mind when scouting for players at his unfortunate new club.
  21. If Mr Chairman does not accept he has failed totally I invite him to itemise and quantify his "achievements". As far as I can see, only a claim that he has "stabilised" the club is valid and that is only because being rock bottom is as stable as you can get!!!!
  22. We might even suffer the ultimate humiliation of Stirling Uni's keeper joining the attacks to relieve his boredom!
  23. Somewhat ominously I was just re-reading the story of a GLASGOW club who wore RED SHIRTS AND WHITE SHORTS who were ONCE GREAT but after a period of GROSS MISMANAGEMENT and FAST DWINDLING CROWDS then DROPPED OUT OF DIVISION 2 and DISAPPEARED.. Sad, but that's what happens to a team run by a DUFFer.......
  24. Knowledge is power and fans have disadvantage of having to guess what goes on in the. Boardroom. But if Mr Thomson has an ounce of commercial awareness he needs to recognise that in any business if the product is useless then customers will not buy. If that product is meant to be entertainment and it is completely absent then there is no business and therefore no customers. Loyalty is admirable but it won't be sustained to the extent of crass pointlessness. Ps sorry for screeds of emptiness at foot of post - I am NOT leaning on space bar. Suggestions welcome please.
