  1. Please don't make this like, BAWA - all bickering and name calling. Hamilton seem to have found some form, which is a bit worrying. On the plus side, Livingston seem to have lost their stride.
  2. Happy with a point today. That leaves us six points behind fifth-placed Livingston, with a game in hand and four home games to play this month...one of which is against Livingston! It's all in our hands!
  3. Hasn't Obika been guilty of this on at least two occasions in recent weeks?
  4. Saints already have a Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer. Unfortunately this sort of role didn't exist in the past, and it wasn't taken seriously enough. It would seem that paedophiles sought out positions in football clubs, the cub scouts, etc, where they had access to children.
  5. Each to his own. There was a time I enjoyed English football, but the money down south has ruined the game. The FA Cup is no longer shown the respect it deserves, with clubs fielding reserve teams and games scheduled for midweek. Fewer games than ever are played at 3 pm on a Saturday, and VAR is utterly contemptible. I pray to God we never get that shite up here. I do tend to enjoy the Scottish games, and even quite like watching the Championship fixture on a Friday.
  6. Well they both play in black and white, so it would save them money on scarves! I say forget about English football, and just stick with the Saints!
  7. The injuries have come at a bad time, given the fact we'll have four home games including Hamilton, Motherwell and Ross County. We should collect nine points from the next four home fixtures, but with a depleted squad and possible formation changes it will be tough.
  8. The scoreline flattered Celtic. We gave them a game, and up until the penalty we were always in it. I thought the ref was biased, but.
  9. I can't see the second image you posted, but it's bizarre that these clubs get more TV money than us. I f**king hate the English game...I have even saved the Scottish football page on the BBC to my favourites now, so that I don't even get a glimpse of it.
  10. You're right! The likes of Oxford Utd, Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham attract far larger crowds than us. Wow! Except for the Old Firm, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs, they're all arguably bigger clubs than us. I suppose England does have >10 times our population, to be fair.
  11. Ach, I would've said the minimum requirement was for each team to have played every other team once. The home advantage is not material really, as there are no crowds. I would suggest that for financial reasons - e.g. sponsorship - it would make more sense to call the league and have one club promoted/relegated, within the SPFL structure.
  12. I don't follow the English game, at all. But we average crowds of ~4,500. I didn't know English lower league clubs attracted that number. Also I would have thought Scottish first tier football had a more lucrative sponsorship deal than English tier clubs.
  13. How can lower league English clubs, i.e. those below the Championship, possibly have bigger budgets than us?
  14. If every side has played each other, wouldn't that be sufficient, given the pandemic? I suppose it's the clubs that have finished bottom who would vehemently oppose it. However, I think that so long as each club has played every other club, that would be sufficient.
  15. Do you not think Queen's Park will be promoted if the league's called?
  16. That's a good point. Aye, we need to be in the top half of the split in order to finish fifth. Europe would be fun, and would also entitle us to a bye in the League Cup, too. But I was considering the potential merits of a sixth place finish!
  17. That's a fair bit of money. Obviously it's good for the club's esteem to be a top-six side, and it proves Tony's detractors wrong. But finishing sixth won't qualify us for Europe. So the only tangible benefit seems to be the money, which is not to be sniffed at, of course.
  18. I know this might seem like a stupid question, but if we were to finish seventh rather than sixth, what material benefit would that provide? I think it would slightly increase our prize money, which is great, but anything else? Ordinarily it would mean we'd benefit from an extra home game against one of the Old Firm, which brings in a decent amount of cash, but obviously that doesn't apply this year.
  19. To be fair, I don't think he had much choice but to come out of his box, really.
  20. A wee reminder that polls close on the SMISA £2 fund tomorrow. Two excellent causes - lassies' kits & new equipment for St. Mirren TV.
  21. I remember when I was about fourteen or fifteen and delivering newspapers, The Daily Sport, I think it was, had a count down to Lindsey Dawn McKenzie's sixteenth birthday so they could show her with her baps out. Have things changed?
  22. The BBC hasn't listed us as one of the clubs likely to announce a last minute signing. So I don't expect anything, now.
