The St. Mirren FC 2023/24 thread
Ralstonite replied to djchapsticks's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
He's explained himself. FFS! If one of them definitely has the virus, which we know is correct, all he's essentially saying is he likes Scott Brown least amongst all the Celtic players. It's very unlikely to be harmful to someone under the age of forty with no health conditions, anyway. -

Oh dear! If that's the case then we will be relying on the charity of our core support, as will most clubs. Will it be enough, though? -

Interesting: I would be interested to see these stats sans the League Cup games. ETA: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/st-mirren/top-scorers -

My only fear is if there's no end to the lockdowns, will folk again go out and buy season tickets in numbers? I understand we sold ~3,500 this year. I hope folk back the club, but some may not be able to afford it and, if there's no sign of fans being able to return to the stadium, many others might not bother. -
Just tuned in, in the hope of seeing an upset! 'mon the Bonnyrigg...

As others have said, a fair result. Erhahon should have equalised with that almost unmissable sitter, but we got a bit of luck with the penalty. I've always had a lot of respect for Motherwell - a decent club, with a good set of fans. Play like that and you should stay up. I hope so.

How did we miss that?

Brophy on!

Wait, how did I miss this? I though Brophy had signed a pre-contract agreement? When did this happen?

I watched the game tonight and thought you weren't too bad, other than in the final third. QotS's first goal was taken very well, and down to a good bit of individual skill. Conceding just before the break is never good, and you were always chasing the game after that. You were playing a side two divisions above you, and given how you're fairing in your own league I can understand why expectations were high, but I wouldn't be too critical.

Why would we be thinking about off loading Connolly, he has been a major part of the upturn in form. Indeed. He was fantastic against Rangers, in the cup! -

Thanks for the cogent reply, and for not acting all offended. What happened to the lottery money you were gifted? Are you still going to be fan-owned? I think I asked before about that and I got an ambiguous answer. -

I've clearly hit a raw nerve! I should've realised you folks will be hurting, especially as you're likely to remain a third-rate side for the next few seasons. Best of luck for the rest of the season and beyond... -

St. Mirren and Thistle are of a similar size, in terms of support and infrastructure. You've also had millions donated to you by a generous benefactor. So how is it we've just signed Brophy on a pre-contract, recently beat Rangers (a feat achieved by no other club this season, including Benfica) to book a semi-final, have announced we have £1 million in the bank and are looking to become fan-owned later this year, whilst you're...shite? No offence intended, btw. I've said before that I'd like to see you back in the Premiership. I'm just thinking "there's us but for the grace of God..." -
