  1. Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh what fun it is to see Saint Mirren win away... Just seen the result, as been busy this afternoon. What a result! I think we might be alright this year, after all.
  2. He's right, though! They've done 9IAR and could still complete a quadruple treble. Their dominance wasn't going to last forever, and frankly if it had it would have ruined the Scottish game...
  3. Any chance you could explain what this is all about? I take it the club posted a statement and were inundated with complaints about the grammar, or something?
  4. Good to see another clean sheet and three points, and away from home. A four point cushion after seven games is not bad, and conceding only one goal in the league is amazing!
  5. I'm pissed off, too. But we didn't play badly at all. We created loads of chances against one of the top four teams in Scotland...
  6. Just watched the last twenty minutes, and the two sides look leagues apart.
  7. I like Tony's enthusiasm and his ambition, but with all due respect I'm not sure he's in the right role. As for the club, we're in a period of transition. Let's hope that once the dust settles we will get our act together. We've cocked up, and been punished very, very harshly for it. Let's hope the club can learn from this and move on. This has been a rubbish week, and I'm expecting a gubbing on Saturday now to round it off - doesn't bad luck come in threes?
  8. An excellent example! I have heard that before, regarding Dundee FC being the dominant club. I've always been fascinated with the Dundee clubs, simply because their grounds are so close and there's no apparent reason why a Dundonian would have an allegiance to one or the other.
  9. Aye, I made the same point on here recently regarding the Banter Years! As you say, four promotions in five years and decent cup runs that we would be envious of. I'd argue the biggest factor though, is that their fans could be certain they'd rise to the top of Scottish football. How many other clubs' fans can say the same? When Rangers fans tell me they've had it tough for the last few years, I laugh in their faces.
  10. We admitted to breaches of the Covid protocols on the coach and at a pre-match meal! We also admitted our liability. Aberdeen players got together and went to the pub, FFS! This is utterly infuriating. It would never be applied to the Old Firm. I'd absolutely love it if one of them cock up now.
  11. By the 'fringes of Paisley' what do you actually mean? Ralston or Glasgow itself - Hillington, Penilee, Crookston? As for your (laughable) claim that you weren't glory hunting, given that it was the late '70s: In the 1970s Rangers won: Four Scottish Cups: 1973, 1976, 1978, 1979. - they were runners up in 1971, 1977. Four League Cups: 1971, 1976, 1978, 1979 Three League Ttiles: 1975, 1976, 1978 - they were runners up in 1970, 1973, 1977, 1979 UEFA Cup Winner's Cup 1972 You might not be aware that St. Mirren have won the Scottish Cup three times since 1877, and have won the League Cup once.
  12. In many case they probably do! Have you seen the state of most Old Firm fans?
  13. Aye, one step at at time. However, the club is obviously ambitious. I was very surprised to read that you''d gone full-time - indeed, with all due respect, I thought it was unnecessary at your level. League One will be difficult to get out of as things stand - Partick Thistle, Falkirk, Airdrieonions and even Cove Rangers all appear to have decent sides. But yours is a club full of promise and potential. I really would love to see you in the Premiership or Championship. It would be great for the local area.
  14. I'm following your results with interest. I would love you to rise through the leagues, as I think it would be great for Scottish football. Out of interest, if you were to make it to the Premiership in five years time, would you have to start playing your games at (Greater) Hampden again?
  15. For once I share the consensus view. I have no time for glory hunters. @MS RR made a great point earlier - if someone's dad came from Peterhead, but they were raised in Glasgow, does anyone really believe they'd adopt Peterhead as their club? I know at least two Partick Thistle supporters who grew up supporting one of the Old Firm, but later adopted Thistle - one was ashamed of what they perceived as rank bigotry, and the other of the ridiculous gulf in resources between the Old Firm and the rest. Aye, loyalty to one's team is honourable, but there's a certain honour in admitting that you've made a mistake and that you no longer want to fund the Cheeks and will instead back Thistle or Queens Park. Certainly you can raise your kids to follow one of them.
  16. I voted in favour of the Kibble partnership. This potentially damages the club's reputation, but then again if it's only a small matter and it is being nipped in the bud, I suppose it's a good thing. I wish the club would provide more information.
  17. You seem to know what you're talking about. What's the penalty for something like that?
  18. Exactly! The press love to embellish these things. Fingers crossed this turns out to be nothing.
  19. From the indications I am getting from this and BAWA, it looks like it will be close between 2 and 4. I'm not especially keen on 4 at all.
  20. Let me work it out: €2.92m for participating in the group stages €1.90m at €0.57m per win & €0.19m per draw [supposing they draw their last two games] €0.50m for participating in the last 32 €1,357,170 for their coefficient = €6.68m I miscalculated earlier as I added the €1.1 million last 16 prize money, and also I was assuming they'd win their last two group matches, which would add (2.66-1.90) another €0.76 million to the total. So if they were to win their remaining two group games, and progress to the last 16 they would amass €8.54m The quarter finals would take that up to €10.04m.
