  1. Really need to get Telfer pushed up to play closer to Nesbitt. Ruth far better today though, looks lively
  2. Shame for Sammy today, he's been far more effective than McGuffie
  3. Sounds like Williamson might be ready to start s i'd go with.. Mutch Williamson McKay Dixon McCann Krasniqi McDaid Telfer McGuffie Nesbitt Keena
  4. Let's be honest though, if Wilson is ever going to score, its going to be against Dumbarton
  5. Have they confirmed whether this is a Holt or Sheerin signing so we know who to abuse at 4.45pm?
  6. There's potential there but Keena has been a bit of a letdown so far. Great goal at Airdrie but not getting into nearly enough goalscoring situations.
  7. No. The fans aren't 'the problem' and there are no such things as 'happy clappers' and 'critical supporters' just a whole load of Falkirk fans with different opinions who want the best for the club. The problem has been years of terrible decision making from the end of Yogis time onwards. Some of these decisions have been reactionary off the back of fan criticism/lobbying some have tried to curry favour and others have been plain mind boggling. Fans get it wrong all the time. I can't be bothered to look back but I'm certain there were plenty on here keen on Peter Grant and Stuart Taylor as our new manager. There were definitely plenty happy with the Hartley appointment as another example. Discussing all things Falkirk is interesting but its extremely easy to sit back and criticise. For me that time may well come but its far far too early under Sheerin to be there yet.
  8. 100% this. Some of the comments on here post Saturday have been ridiculous. We lost a game. Did we think we weren't going to lose any games or play poorly at all this season? Would expect these reactions if we're still behind after 9/18 games not 6 when we've barely been able to field a settled XI but still looked capable in all games bar one. Folk more or less writing off Ruth after Saturday too is equally crazy. Give the guy a chance FFS.
  9. David Holmes stayed 1 year & gave us George Deans... how did that work out? The point I'm making is that its far too soon to be drawing conclusions on Sheerin and how this season will go. Next few games are crucial.
  10. At the risk of getting a torrent for suggesting we shouldn't panic yet, can you imagine what reaction would have been like on here if a manager plucked from Berwick took 1 pt from 12 as happened at the start of the 1990/91 season? Now clearly we're a league below where we were then but we shouldn't need a Stainrod to start picking up results in League 1. Sheerin may work out, he may not but its far too early to be chucking in the towel. We were poor on Saturday which hasn't been the case in most of our other games. Sheerin also seems to know it (much more than M&M or McKinnon ever admitted) so let's see whether we get a reaction on Saturday. At the very least the team looks like it has a plan this year. I do agree a lot of weight now on Ruth & Keena to perform after the Wilson debacle and for guys like Williamson and Morrison to be back soon. He also needs to realise that tactical changes are needed to bring Krasniqi in, push Telfer on, Nesbitt in the centre etc. Start picking up wins and confidence should come back quickly. If we get into October and it becomes clear Saturday wasn't a blip then some of the panic will be justified.
  11. I've been supportive so far due to the fact we've been playing well (against QP we were very unlucky) but have to admit we were worryingly poor yesterday. A lot depends on how Sheerin reacts nest week. Against QP he got his tactics wrong playing Nesbitt out wide and yesterday he doubled down with a few bizarre choices. Injuries are hampering up but no excuse for not being up for the battle. Starting the season we looked strongest down the right and are now missing both Williamson & Morrison which is crippling us and until they're back we need to find a way to cope. Next week Nesbitt has to be moved centrally and Telfer pushed up to be more of a goal threat even if it means pushing him wider than would like. If he's available Krasniqi needs to come in for Hetherington and McKay for Hall. Would also start both Keena & Ruth and drop McGuffie. Mutch Miller McKay Dixon McCann Krasniqi Ross Telfer Ruth Nesbitt Keena On a positive note Sheerin in his interview seems angrier than M&M or McKinnon ever did - time will tell how quickly he learns.
  12. Its a bold argument to make at the start of September that none of our strikers will hit 15 goals so we should be panic signing the likes of Greig Spence. Especially when one of our strikers hasn't played a single game yet and we've only gone 1 game without scoring at least once. How many goals had Lyle Taylor or Rory Loy scored when they signed? Its still very possible 2 from Keena, Ruth and Morrison will score 15+ this season.
  13. Its a ridiculous debate. If we'd signed 36 year old Liam Buchanan this place would have (rightly) gone into meltdown. We had a lot of experience last year (Miller, Gomis, Sammon, L.Miller etc) and that didn't exactly work. We've been screaming out for young, pacey fresh legs for the last 3 years and now have to give that a chance. Confident Ruth will turn out well - if he doesn't then questions will arise over whether maybe all signings should be left to Holt instead of Sheerin...
  14. "Good luck with the shower of jobbers we have signed. Outside the two full backs we have not improved the squad" "This squad couldn’t stuff a fucking turkey" "I don’t need to watch them to see at the moment the squad is a mile off" Hmmm...
  15. Sheerin saying he can play out wide too so potentially competition for McGuffie as well as Keena
  16. Exactly. So far this season there have been far more positives than negatives but you wouldn't think it on here. Even on the striker front its clear from his interviews Sheerin knows this and is trying to get someone in (I'm assuming the two he lost out on at the start of last week were Reilly and Shaw). Its highly unlikely we'll not have a new striker in by the end of September and hopefully another loan signing or two as well. Morrison already has 5 this season and if he stays fit should hit 15+
  17. Everyone who is disagreeing that on form so far we are the best team in the league. Unless its Montrose of course we all think are far better which there may actually be more of an argument for given we haven't played them yet.
  18. Only if you choose to wilfully ignore the fact that we've played the supposed Top 3 rivals. Cove after 0 days training post Covid, Airdrie where we strolled it until going down to 10 men and still won and QP where we completely outplayed them and are unlikely to be so unlucky over another 90mins this season. Also we still haven't managed to start a game with more than 2 of our first choice back 4 who we know will improve us further. Of course none of this is a guarantee we'll stroll the league but judging the games and teams so far, what exactly do you fear about QP & Cove so much?
  19. 3 of which were penalties. Morrison has scored more from open play. Again not saying we don't need another striker but the manic desire of some on here to make out we're worse than Cove & QP have been so far is baffling.
  20. No evidence apart from the actual games which I guess you're still not bothering to watch. Not much between us and Airdrie? A team we beat with 10 men whose other league results have been a 3 nil defeat to Montrose, a hard fought 3 points against Peterhead and a draw with Dumbarton. I mean honestly.. I'm not saying we're not going to drop points but on the evidence of the games so far we're the best team in the league. Yes, we need a striker (thats obvious) and we need to steer clear of injuries to our best players but at this moment in time we're not watching M&M or McKinnon standards of sh*te. My opinion may change if we descend into that but can only go on the league games I've seen so far and I've seen nothing to suggest QP or Cove are "miles" better than us as one poster keeps belting out.
  21. We haven't played a single team in the league yet who look better than us. 9 times out of 10 the way we played against QP is good enough to win. Still very confident we'll win the league comfortably. Don't disagree we need another striker but expect us to win games without one against the dross we're up against most weeks.
  22. Megginson and Murray are good players. McAllister is past it and even Cove fans don't rate McIntosh. Telfer, Morrison, Dixon, Williamson (the good one) and Nesbitt are better than QP or Cove have in those positions which is why we're not done for in this league.
  23. Another strange one was Kjartan Finnbogason - banged them in for Reykjavik after leaving us and got a move to Ferencvaros but useless at us.
