My new addition to this trophy. Would be to add teams from Brittany to a Celtic Nations Club Cup. There are massive sides in Brittany, such as Rennes and Nantes, Also the big Welsh sides in the English league should be in the trophy. these are Wrexham, Merthyr Town, Cardiff City, Swansea City and Newport County, Also I think it is vital to have one team each from Cornwall and the Isle of Man. I know they would not be massive sides but they are as big as clubs in Scottish League One, so it would not be small sides by Scottish standards. Plus Cornwall and the Isle of Man are proud Celtic nations, so should have a side each in the trophy, I think it would be a group stage trophy in the first phase followed by single leg knockout rounds, leading to a final at one of the competing sides stadia My idea would be a to replace the Scottish League Cup with a Celtic Nations Club Football Cup. Where the big Celtic club sides play each other. Imagine games like Glasgow Celtic v Swansea City,. Aberdeen v Nantes, Dundee United v Newport County, Glasgow Rangers v Cardiff City, Shamrock Rovers v Nantes, Wrexham v Linfield, and Motherwell v Cork City. This could awaken sleeping giant sides in Wales, Ireland and Cornwall. It would be a decent trophy. I accept it would not be like Real Madrid v Barcelona, or Juventus v PSG. But most Scottish Premiership games are like Ross County v St Mirren or Dunfermline v Greenock Morton. Which are big games. But that is a typical Scottish Premiership or Scottish Championship game,. So Wrexham, Newport County, Shamrock Rovers, Cardiff City, Swansea City, Nantes, Rennes, Swansea, Linfield, would be good additions to the roster of teams to play for Scottish Premiership sides, I would love Aberdeen to play a few competitive games each year against Irish, Welsh, and Breton club sides, It would mean great trips to beautiful parts of the Celtic nations countryside. My view would be all Scottish Premierships sides, the big Welsh sides in the English league would be automatically in the trophy., Plus the big Breton sides, plus selected sides from Northern Ireland, the Welsh Premier, and the Republic of Ireland. Teams would need to finance their own travel costs. So you do not get tonnes of part time sides in the trophy. This should be a full time professional trophy for all the elite sides in the Celtic nations, This trophy would be on top of the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and European games. UEFA allowed Irish and Welsh sides in the Scottish Challenge Cup. So UEFA should allow this idea. People will say what about travel? But look at the trips teams have to do in European trophies, the MLS, North American sports leagues, or the Australian, Chinese, Indian, and Brazilian sports leagues. One trip to Brittany, Ireland, and Cornwall a season is not too much to ask. The Celtic lands cover a population of 20 million people. So this would be a good market for Scottish clubs to enter.

My worry is that by this time next season Aberdeen FC could be playing league derby matches against Cove Rangers FC. Cove Rangers look like they could be promoted from League One this season, while Aberdeen FC are on relegation form, so could be relegated from the Scottish Premiership to the Scottish Championship. I want Aberdeen FC to improve. They need to start winning games against the bottom 6 sides, We could have Aberdeen derbies in the the Scottish Championship next season. I do not want Aberdeen to be relegated. I want Aberdeen to win games.

It would be fun to see the Old Firm playing massive French sides like PSG, Lyon and Lens. Nobody would think Scotland was part of France. So it would not annoy me so much. The Old Firm fans would get beautiful places to visit.

The problems of the Clan v Clan Cup; 1) What happens when someone of one surname is selected to play for a team because he has distant ancestors from that clan, but is playing against a team with his own surname? So for instance imagine a MacLeod is selected for the MacDonald Clan side then they play the MacLeod Clan. Imagine the confusion from the commentator. ‘And MacLeod passes to MacDonald who passes to MacLeod. And MacLeod scores against MacLeod for MacDonald. The confusion would mount. 2) What if 7 or eight of the players all have the same surname? How would you differentiate quickly between the players in a fast action match? 3) Where would the games be played? 4) Would the trophy whip up tribal division in Scotland? ------ For note; The Clans of Robertson, Thomson, Smith and Wilson have tended to have produced the most internationals for Scotland, so would historically be the strongest. I think the Ferguson clan would be the strongest in terms of management.

Rangers B side are doing well in the Lowland League. I know Celtic and Rangers have self interest. But it will help the national side to give young Rangers and Celtic players early experience of competitive soccer. We should take advantage of the self interest clubs to make them develop more top Scottish players. We need the top clubs to develop more top players for Scotland. And having B sides in the Lowland League helps that.

A Clan V Clan Scottish Trophy. I think a cool idea for a football trophy in Scotland would be clan v clan matches. We all know the history of Scotland with clans as a vital part of our history and identity. We know of famous clans like the Clan Campbell, Clan Smith, Clan Macpherson, Clan Sinclair, Clan Mackenzie, Clan MacDonald, Clan Ferguson, Clan Anderson, Clan Douglas, Clan Wallace, Clan MacNab, Clan MacLean and Clan MacLeod. Well my idea would be a football trophy between the different clans of Scotland. It could be held at the same location, or like a Scottish FA Cup, or European Champions League. Teams could be drawn at home and away in a knockout trophy or league trophy. I would not want this idea to support racism. So people of any race could play for the clan sides. People could qualify for sides by surname, even if it means looking back many generations to find a family link to the surname. Like they have the grandparent rule in international soccer. So if you looked back 5 generations, and found a ancestor who was a Ferguson you could play for the Ferguson side. It would be a interesting trophy. In New Zealand they have the New Zealand Maori rugby union side. And people can qualify due to distant family connections. My idea would be for clan teams to play each other. It could be a fun trophy, playing on a major part of the Scottish identity. There could be other sports trophies like this in other nations where there are tribes or family groups, like the USA, Poland, China or India. Also other sports could try this such as shinty, hurling, Gaelic football, motor racing, rugby union, golf, bowling, volleyball, Highland Games, penalty shootout trophies, basketball, snooker, darts, athletics and other sports. This would be a fun trophy to have. It could be supported by major companies, governments, sports organisations. I think names for the trophy could be like the CLAN V CLAN SOCCER CUP. Games could be played at Hampden, Murrayfield, Celtic Park, Ibrox, Dens Park, Pittodrie or any other Scottish stadia. What does everyone think of this crazy idea?

What Is Your Priority for Scottish Football? My priorities are in order; 1. To have a strong national side that qualify for major tournaments and win trophies. 2. To have Scottish clubs that do well in Europe. 3. Scottish clubs to develop and attract great players to Scottish football. 4. That Scotland is not seen as a region of England. So no merger with the English league. And no Old Firm joining the English League. I am not anti-English. But I want Scotland to be seen as a nation whether it is part of the UK or not. So that part time clubs can win the league. 6. Sporting integrity. This means letting our clubs do rubbish or the league become rubbish on some drivel concept of sporting integrity. We need to have all big sides playing colt teams in the lower leagues. This is about making sure Scottish players develop. They do it in Croatia, and they have reached a World Cup Final, and just knocked us out of the EURO 2020. They do it Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands and Portugal. Hope Aberdeen qualify for the group stages. It will be tough to get there. Hopefully the squad is built up before the European games start. Sometimes teams seem to build teams after the European games have been played. Aberdeen need to hit the ground running to do well.

I think Celtic should appoint Paul Lambert. He is a Celtic and Scotland legend. He has a long record as a manager. I accept it is a mixed record. But so what. Nobody is perfect. That is the point I am making. The Spanish, Belgians, Croats, Germans, Portugal, and France all play colt teams in lower divisions. How is it an insult to the Lowland League or Highland League to say this is the potential breeding ground for Scottish internationals. It is a compliment to the Highland League and Lowland League to want colt sides in those leagues. I am not suggesting Motherwell Colts or Ross County colts, would be a huge draw in terms of attendances, but I think if we gave Motherwell a colt side in the Lowland League it would increase the number of opportunities for young Scottish players. And there is no shame in proper sides playing colt sides. There is no shame at all. The point in the col idea is to produce more top quality Scottish players. That is the priority of Scottish football. Grassroots main job is to develop top players.

Scottish football should prioritise winning the European Conference League. It would be great if a Scottish side won it. We have not had a Scottish team win a UEFA trophy since 1983. Lets hope St Johnstone, Hibernian, or Aberdeen can win the Europa Conference League.

I support having colt sides in the lower leagues. They do it in Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and most aptly in Croatia,. It does not take away from their integrity or morality. I would rather be like Croatia, and have Scotland in a World Cup Final, than have the sporting integrity of 2 decades without qualifying for the World Cup. I would rather increase the chances of Scotland beating England at football. I would say it is far more immoral and lacking in integrity to put a part time team finishing 5 places higher in the league, higher in priority than the development of Scottish internationals to make the Scottish international side do well. I want Scottish football to do well. I want all Scottish clubs to do well in Europe, It is a crime to want Scottish football talent to go to waste. That is is the immoral attitude. Some people would cut off their nose to spite their face when it comes to Scottish football. Support the Scottish national side.
