  1. A tough opening fixture for Aberdeen. Ramadani's energy and fight are certainly going to be missed in midfield. I'd probably prefer to see Polvara start ahead of Barron based on pre-season reports. Dadia is an option as he can play in the defensive midfield role. I'm mostly concerned by our current defence given the injuries we have. McDonald (teased he might play) playing would be a tremendous boost for us in defence. Livingston as always will be well up for it especially an opening day fixture at home. Unfortunately I can see it being a draw.
  2. I think it's likely we'll be spending a decent fee on a defensive midfielder before the window closes. On top of that, Aberdeen still haven't spent the cash they set aside for Teklic so we may potentially also see a fee spent on an attacking midfielder. Its gone very quiet on the killian Phillips front so may have just been agent talk. Regarding Scales, I was told eons ago we were signing him permanently. Clearly that didn't happen. I've always thought this might transpire into a Ryan Christie situation where Celtic string us along only for us to miss out on cheaper/better alternatives. I like Scales but 700k is a steep figure for what you are getting. Given our recent success recruitment wise in Europe I'd like to see if we could source a better alternative. Scott Burns today has claimed the club are looking to strengthen the midfield and forward areas. I predict 4 players to sign before the window SLAMS shut.
  3. Fully expected Hibs to win and thump that lot today. Levitt showing his quality. Opposition fans are hoping Boyle gets injured again and soon. The Swiss mob will be a completely different challenge. I think Hibs certainly have the firepower to win however even with the inclusion of Will Fish I think Hibs are still vulnerable at the back. Dylan Vente will also be available. The Doig cash windfall (may have already been used) could and maybe should be used to strengthen their backline. Overall, Hibs are shaping up nicely and for once I believe LJ in that hibs will have a strong season. Third is going to be a very tasty competition this season with Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts all strengthen their sides. St Mirren a potential dark horse too.
  4. We've just sold Ramadani for £1.2 million having spent only 75k (wasn't even the reported 100k) on him last summer. Miovski (scored more than any Hibs player) finished our top goalscorer with around 18 goals and will eventually be sold for a fair few million. The Balkan lads have been brilliant business for us and helped us finish 3rd. Your own Balkan signing, Cabraja, turned out rubbish and has already exited Hibs. You also signed Jeggo and Miller who haven't exactly set the heather alight. Plus a 37 year old in ALF from the A-League.
  5. https://www.aberdeenlive.news/sport/football/football-news/aberdeen-accept-11million-ylber-ramadani-8649462 That's Ramadani off. 1.2 million GBP (according to P&J). Btw we paid less than 100k for him. Well if the rumours are true his replacement may very well be a Balkan with some height. Let's see.
  6. I do recall Devlin doing very well in his first season and for what its worth I think Nieuwenhof will be a very good signing (and very possible a step up on Devlin) for Hearts. Your other target Sammy Silveria looked a promising player too. Clearly good players to found in the A-League. However I have to agree that the defensive recruitments we've seen SPL sides make from the A-League just appear physically overwhelmed by the Scottish game. Atkinson looks good going forward but weak physically. And whenever I think of Rowles, I just remember Main man handling him at Tynecastle. I'm anticipating much the same from McGarry in an Aberdeen top, unfortunately. I just hope the fee we've paid isn't that great. I really hope to eat humble pie as McGarry proves me wrong.
  7. Apparently, this new left back has only completed 90mins 3 times in the past 2 seasons. He's struggled to hold a regular spot anywhere he's played. At least Rowles, Devlin, Miller etc were all standouts in the A-League and like you've said, they are bang average. I don't know what to make of this signing if I'm being honest.
  8. Has 1 cap for New Zealand which he achieved in 2019. Has Irish citizenship. A left back. Hopefully he offers more than Hayes and Mackenzie. I haven't been terribly impressed by the A-League imports (Devlin, Rowles, Atkinson, Jeggo, Miller and Birighitti) in recent years however not going to judge until I've seen him play a decent number of games first.
  9. Just watched Slobodan Rubezic's interview on RedTV. He goes by the name of Rubi. Seems very level headed and a nice lad. Really excited to see what he can do. Possibly the most intriguing signing of the summer. Could be key to any success we have this season.
  10. Over 4,000 away tickets sold for this one. We certainly travel in numbers.
  11. Decent left sided centre backs are hard to come by. I think we may consider a 700k fee IF Ramadani is sold for the right price. Lecce have reportedly spent 12 million Euros this summer. If they really want Ramadani they'll have to cough up the money. Gone are the days of Aberdeen (and Scottish sides) being ripped off. Cormack/Gunn/Burrows have already proven to be shrewd negotiators. 1.4 million Euros and we'll deal. And I suspect we'll have a suitable replacement lined up in the event he is sold. Possibly another Balkan region target.....
  12. The Gordon family has seriously backed Johnson. They've made (on paper) some very solid signings and have got to be considered serious contenders for finishing third this season. I'm surmising here but Hibs would appear to have spent more on their side this summer than both Aberdeen and Hearts. Certainly on transfer fees. Fair play to them.
  13. If true, that would be a fantastic signing. Although I think St Mirren could hold out for a decent fee from an English side if they are patient. A very good player. Probably St Mirren's most valuable asset at the moment. I think St Mirren would be more willing to negotiate a deal if you were leave out Andy Halliday.
  14. https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/6002779/exclusive-aberdeen-reject-1-1m-bid-for-ylber-ramadani-from-lecce/ Aberdeen have rejected a bid of 1.1 million for Ramadani.
  15. Scott Burns claiming we are hopeful of securing Scales this week. Just waiting on the green light from Celtic. Not sure if that's on loan or a permanent signing. Apparently he's available for 700k. An excess valuation given Scales has only played 2 seasons of full time football. Most of his appearances coming for us last season. I'm ok with Scales on loan for the season as it gives Jordan Miles a season to source someone for next summer. Rubezic + Scales would surely mean Stewart is leaving.
  16. Cormack said we are close to confirming two defenders (Rubezic being one). Hopefully both available for the Livingston match. A further 2-3 players being targeted after the 2 defenders are signed. Ramadani is a good player. I think it would be rather telling if we could see his stats/metrics compared to the rest of the SPL. I honestly think 1 million is far too low for Ramadani. He still has 2 years left on his current contract. 1.5 million minimum.
  17. According to the Italian sports media, we've turned down a bid of 1 million for Ramadani. I honestly think we could get 1.2 to 1.5 million for him. He's a full international with 27 caps. Decent age. No need to sell. Only a month left for us to source a replacement. I also think he's somewhat of an underrated player amongst our fanbase.
  18. #Transfer market | #Lecce, contact #Aberdeen to find an agreement for #Ramadani Apparently, Ramadani has liked this tweet and is following the account. Sounds like he's wanting away. I think we could get 1.2 million for him.
  19. https://www.pianetalecce.it/news/169726086662/lecce-avanza-la-trattativa-per-ylber-ramadani-e-sul-futuro-di-hjulmand Lecce: the negotiation for Ylber Ramadani is advancing. Ylber Ramadani and Lecce: a combination that is now taking hold. The fixed point of the Albanian national team impressed Corvino and Trinchera and from the polls they moved on to negotiations. During the week, the Giallorossi made a one million euro offer for Aberdeen, the club that owns his card, which is stalling. A push and pull: Lecce wants to guarantee the performance of the class of 1996 and could sink the blow. Ylber Ramadani: who is the midfielder who impressed Lecce Ramadani is the more concrete name for the midfield, he would provide experience and geometries to the department. He has a contract until 2025 with the Scottish club, has great charisma and boasts 27 appearances for the selection of Albania. Data set to increase. He was not included in the holders of the last friendly. Lecce: the Ramadani operation is not linked to the future of Hjulmand Ramadani is a defensive midfielder, but he has characteristics that are not present in the squad. For this reason, Lecce intend to sign him regardless of Morten Hjulmand's future. The Salento's goal is to increase the technical rate of the squad and the Albanian was considered an interesting profile in this perspective.
  20. Planning ahead for next season! A championship side in England will pick him up if he continues to impress. He's caught the eye every time we've played St Mirren. Definitely a good player. Is Baccus a realistic target for Aberdeen in the event Ramadani does leave. Bolton reportedly agreed a fee of 275k however pulled out of the deal. There were images of Baccus in crutches during the summer spurring questions of whether or not he failed a medical. Is he a good replacement for Ramadani? Would St Mirren accept the same fee they'd agreed with Bolton? I don't know much about Baccus however St Mirren fans appear to feel his form dropped after a great start to last season. Personally I would like to see some height added to the middle of the park and would be pleased to see us dip back into the Balkan pool of players we seem to have knowledge of.
