  1. Aberdeen won't be be hiring the likes of Lennon or Stubbs. I like Jim Goodwin (presently the best young manager in Scotland) but he's not the right person to replace McInnes. This is Cormack's first appointment since taking over the club. He'll want to set the tone. No one on that list could equal what Mcinnes' has achieved during his time with Aberdeen. I actually wouldn't be at all surprised if it was Jurgen Klinsmann.
  2. The job McInnes did is easier said then done. Far too many harping on about Hibs, Hearts, Dundee Utd and The Rangers not being in the league etc. So what. Thats football. You weren't good enough and were subsequently relegated. Hibs and Dundee Utd were in the exact same boat as ourselves when The Rangers went bust and Hearts entered administration. Hearts were punished for spending way way way beyond their means. If they hadn't, they wouldn't have been relegated however they also wouldn't have won the 2 Scottish cups the previous decade nor finished 2nd that one season. Hearts in recent years have spent a fair amount (mostly on utter dross) in an attempt to compete with Aberdeen. James Anderson has poured 9 million into the club over the past 7 years yet they found themselves relegated once more and don't look like they will be up to much upon their return to the top flight - certainly not with their current squad. Aberdeen had been poorly run ever since Milne took charge in1998. It's historically Aberdeen's worst period from 1998-2012. In that period we still managed to finish 3rd, a number of 4th place finishes, a couple of cup finals and also reached the last 32 of the UEFA Cup - a feat no other side outside of the OF has ever managed. We put up with the likes of Steve Paterson as a cost cutting exercise along with Mark McGhee and the cult figure that was Ebbe Skovdahl. McInnes came along and turned the entire club around. What he did was bring back our credibility. We were incredibly unfortunate that Celtic were so strong under Rodgers otherwise we probably would have added a few more trophies to the cabinet. We have been by far the most consistent side outside the OF during McInnes entire tenure. At last we have a training facility (regarded as the best in Scotland and will soon be adding indoor training pitches) and finally a Stadium (whether its by the beach or in Kingswell) is set to be delivered in the near future. We have a considerably more competent Chairmen in Cormack who has enlisted some serious investors from the US. This season has been completely derailed by injuries, Covid, the forced sale of players etc and has arguably been the main cause of McInnes recent demise. For a team currently going through historically one of their worst results runs - to only be 3 points of third ain't bad. Remember Hibs have spent more on their side this season then Aberdeen. Over 500k on transfer fees and in January strengthened with the signings of Irvine and Cadden both of whom will be on very decent wages. They also spent a nominal fee of a goalie from Arsenal. Turned down significant transfer bids for 2 players. This is the same club that was pleading poverty at the start of the season and threatening to close down their youth academy to facilitate the transfer signings of Nisbett and Magennis. They took a gamble for the elusive third spot in the hope of making returns in Europe all while their is a global pandemic going on. Hearts and Hibs fans in particular who think that Aberdeen will now revert back to the days of the 00's are grossly deluded. We have the infrastructure and backing of the board that any competent manager should be finishing third with the resources at Aberdeen. McInnes time was sadly coming to an end. Its time for a new era. Hopefully one with more trophies being added to the history records.
  3. They'll be a change of manager at the end of the season.
  4. That is an appalling result. Ferguson has been utter dire once more. Needs dropped. Theres just no quality.
  5. I myself also think McInnes is a good manager and would actually argue he's heavily under appreciated by our fans. I think he has been exceptionally unlucky with injuries, ref decisions, Covid, the forced sale of players etc that has affected the performance of the side. We'd have finished third last season had it not been cut short and we were incredibly unlucky not to finish third the season prior. This season we were cruising third up until both injuries and players missing matches due to Covid all happened at once. McInnes' connections to The Rangers doesn't help his case either. Many want him out just for that. We currently have a financial advantage on both Edinburgh sides (particularly Hibs) and really we should be finishing 3rd as a result. Once Aberdeen move into the new stadium I fully expect Aberdeen to be finishing third every season (minimum) along with winning the occasional cup (more frequently then any other side outside the OF). There would be no excuses for not achieving that given the forecasted revenue generated by the new stadium. Aberdeen are predicating an annual turnover of up to 26 million a year. That would mean a fair financial gap between ourselves and the Edinburgh sides.
  6. We'd be third if we hadn't suffered so many injuries. We were absolutely cruising it at the start of the season until Watkins became the first of many to spend the rest of the season on the side line.

  9. I'm occasionally in contact with someone on the AFC board and we recently discussed the potential new stadium. As you can imagine the project is currently on hold. The stadium cost is closer to 60 million however they have already secured some funding. Cormack appears confident we will source the remaining amount. The club project that the new stadium will increase our revenue stream to roughly 25 million annually. As things stand, they have no desire to remain at Pittordrie. The sale of Pittordrie is worth roughly 20 million which of course would goes towards the construction of the new stadium. Its imperative Aberdeen move away from Pittordrie as it's hemorrhaging money, literally falling apart and no longer meets UEFA requirements. The new stadium will have an 18,000 capacity. Standing areas will be included if given the green light. The club believes that having a smaller capacity will generate a greater demand for tickets as Aberdeen supporters will realise they are limited, especially for OF games and European matches. The cost of constructing 1,000 seats is roughly 1.2 million. The club don't feel its worth it simply to keep the current Pittordrie capacity. They are confident that certainly within the first 2-3 years Aberdeen will have its highest average attendances (certainly competing with the Edinburgh sides) for many years. Away supporters including the OF will only be given 500 away tickets. There are plans to increase the stadium size in the future which is why Kingswell (due to the space available) is their ideal location. On a side note, Aberdeen have plans (once Covid passes) to build an indoor roof (retractable) for the training pitches at Cormack park.

  11. I actually agree. If/when Aberdeen move to a new stadium. Aberdeens total annual revenue would go above 20 million. At that stage Hibs and Hearts wouldn't be able to compete with us. A new stadium would help bring the attendances back up.
  12. Aberdeen will win. 2-0. Kamberi and Hornby. The players will be fired up and desperate to prove McInnes is still the man. Aberdeen will go on a winning run and overtake Hibs to finish third.
  13. Aberdeen are the third biggest club in Scotland. Aberdeen have the third largest revenue stream and are the third most successful club in Scotland despite other clubs being in existence for over 20 odd years longer. As such anything below 3rd is viewed a failure. 1998-2012 was historically Aberdeen's worst period. The occasional third/4th finish in that period wasn't good enough. Calderwood got sacked for only finishing top 6 every season. I don't expect to win the league but the financial resources we possess should equate to third place finishes. 4th at worst. Anything below that is disastrous.
  14. I'm strangely fully behind McInnes and the team to prove everyone wrong. I have an odd feeling the Hibs result was a sliver lining and a catalyst to us getting back onto a winning run starting this weekend. Beat Hibs (remember we'll be at home when we play them again) in the top 6 split, let them Hibs it for the remainder of the season and we start winning our remaining games beginning this weekend. We can finish 3rd.
  15. Morning everyone Now time for a rant. Lewis has been a bit of a calamity this season. I honestly believe had he not scored that OG it would have been a different outcome. The players heads just dropped and it set the tone for the rest of the game. Having said that, Livi were by far the better side at that stage so probably would have scored anyway. Aberdeen are so frustrating to watch. We seem to just pass the ball around the back - to a centre mid - back to defence and redo that over and over again. This aimless lumping forward from the defence infuriates me too. Hayes' crossing has been abysmal this season. We currently have no players in the top 12 assisters in the league and only one player with over 3 goals in our side (Ferguson with 8). Thats appalling. Especially given our budget etc. McInnes and his men owe the fans some bloody decent performances and results. 3 wins in 15 is shocking. Relegation stuff.
  16. Lewis' kicking frightens me at times. He often leaves it to the last moment to kick the ball.
  17. Sorry what was that you guys said? I can't hear you with the sound of the revolving door and all these quality players entering and imposters leaving.
  18. Is this potentially the best striker options we've had under McInnes?
  19. I'd be delighted with that. I didn't realize how tall Kamberi is. He's 6,2. He's also only 25 . A good age. He's been a handful when we've played against him. A Fast player with a lot of technical ability and seemingly good in the air. I'd say we've improved our strike force big time. Anderson Out - Hendry In Main Out - Kamberi In Cosgrove Out - Hornby In
  20. Looking forward to Hendry signing just for the meltdown. Going to be a very busy day.
  21. So who will be joining alongside Hornby today. Going to be a busy day.
  22. I agree its seems odd that you want him now. Wright would be cup tied for your Europa League fixtures in a fortnight too. According to the Daily Record, its been confirmed Aberdeen are due compensation from The Rangers when he's joins you in the summer. The only difference now is we aren't in as much pressure to sell Wright after the sale of Cosgrove. Also Aberdeen will see Wright as an important player if he remains in our bid for a European spot for next season. 300k prize difference for 3rd and 4th spot too. When you signed Kamara none of these were factors in the sale.
