The papers are reporting The Rangers have been in talks all day with Aberdeen over Wright. I'm hoping we sell Wright. I think he's a good player and has been a positive for us this season. Aberdeen will be wanting the sale to at least cover the McCrorie fee. I suspect we might go after Allan Campbell if he does go. Supposedly Motherwell want 350k for him. I think we'll be considering selling Ferguson in the summer. Cosgrove's recent form wasn't good enough and I'm amazed/delighted we sold him for 2 million+future sell on %. As the DR reported, Hornby is a definite upgrade. He's even taller then Cosgrove, faster and technically better. Main and Anderson to depart at the end of the season. Gives us the option to start a fresh and sign 2 new forwards. I really hope Watkins is one of them. I'd take Callum Hendry on loan until the end of the season over Bruce Anderson any day. This window, we've essentially trimmed the fat off the side by offloading some fringe players. Wright and Cosgrove are both replaceable. I hope we can extend Taylor, Greg Leigh (controversial but i like him) and Hoban's contracts. Sign two new strikers (Watkins) and an attacking midfielder (or Allan Campbell). I think we'd be good for next season. Sign Gary Woods permanently as our back up goalie.

Will we finally sign a player today.... McInnes wants 2 players ideally. Someone on AFC Chat claiming we have agreed terms for Hornby. Sadly I'd take Hendry over Anderson.

Agree with Tord. My thoughts are he's a near identical player to Cosgrove. He hasn't scored from open play this season and we can't afford to be dishing out 300k on a player who doesn't justify it. Hornby would be an exciting signing imo.

How are both the Edinburgh sides in a financial place to sign players especially Hearts who are in the Championship. Jack Ross' comments make no logical sense. Every club barring Hibs, Hearts, St Mirren and The Rangers are all coming out and being transparent about how this is crippling their club and they are forced to sell players etc. Aberdeen are just being smart and open about whats going on. Just read Hearts are preparing a fee of 350k for Campbell and that they will make him their highest paid player. Do they know there is a world pandemic?

Not true. Cosgrove had 6 months left on his contract and Carlisle were happy for him to leave in January as they didn't see a future for him at your club. We'd already agreed a pre-season contract with Cosgrove. Carlisle wanted 30k (development fees) for his immediate transfer in January. And as Dave Cormack told me 18 months ago, Carlisle are due NO % of any future fee we may receive for Cosgrove.

Absolutely delighted with the news. Would be even more delighted if we ended up with Watkins as his permanent replacement. Anderson and Main will be gone by the summer. Hopefully a decent striker to replace them will be inbound.

Horrendous display of football for both sets of fans. Wasn't much in it. Aberdeen had more of the possession but never really troubled St Johnstone. Cosgrove was absolutely shocking. Hayes' decision making was abysmal at times. Kennedy and Hedges were the only two that really got pass marks. Lewis' kicking gives me the scares - he leaves it far too late before he kicks it. McInnes should have subbed Cosgrove off. Main, McGinn, even Anderson for the final 10-15 mins. Fed up with us barely using the bench.

Where you hearing that? At least he's off the wages for the remainder of the season.

Im hoping we can sell Cosgrove and Ojo. Would be really good news. I like Scott Wright. Inconsistent but he is a good player. Although hes not in the same level as Maddison, McLean or Christie. He's also injury prone and has barely kicked a ball during his entire career.

Aberdeen turned down a bid for Cosgrove from Sheffield Wednesday. Apparently it was well below our asking price.

If the season hadn't been cut short last campaign Aberdeen would have finished third.

Incredibly pessimistic about todays match. Really disappointed by how this season has panned out. Started off so strongly and the inevitable seasonal injury crisis hit. Predicting a second week in a row where McInnes men get pumped by the league's bottom side.

Whats the bet we sign both Jones and Stewart. Stewart to replace McGinn and Jones for Scott Wright. Both very good players on their day. If Stewart is not just shoehorned in he'd be a good signing. McInnes just needs to utilize him appropriately. Cosgrove and Hernandez hopefully sold in the next week. Get Watkins and Ross Stewart signed on preseason contracts. That would make things look a little brighter after a miserable opening few weeks of January. Still hopefully Gallagher and Campbell on pre-season contracts too.

I cant believe hows many injuries we've had over the past 3 seasons. Imo its been the difference between us finishing 4th or 3rd.

We need to make some signings. We are short in depth if we lose Wright along with Edmundson and Watkins. 3rd place is financially important due to the potential in european placement. Cormack needs to make it happen. If we want to be a top 100 european side nows the time to act. Im firmly behind mcinnes. Hes a good manager and gas done well during his time here. Id personally be gutted if he were to leave.

Glass would be an utterly horrendous appointment. I dont think people eealise how well McInnes has done during his time here. We'd be better off going for Robinson who is now available.

Would be a huge boost if he along with a few over youngsters could come into the first team and be the real deal.

You're right he signed a 3 year deal last January.

I'd still suspect the occasional pre-contract. A fair number of players will be leaving the club at the end of the season. Cosgrove and Hernandez will most likely be sold. I think Fergie may leave in the summer to cover our losses. I see Lewis Morgan is available as a free agent. Edit: Can rule him out as well as we've no money.
