Celtic are looking fragile at the moment. Hibs unlucky to not get anything the other night. Don’t want to get ahead of myself… just please don’t give up two goals in first 10 or get a sending off.

Scottish Cup was always a special occasion in my mind so it's a bit of surprise to see how low ticket sales are. Hopefully sales will pick up in the next two days.

I hope that doesn't include Ayr as quite a few of us come on that line.

Check out Scot Rail web site. Reading replacement busses will be used on parts of the Ayr line. If I was to get the replacement bus from Wemyss Bay it's giving a travel time of 1.5 hours to Paisley. Buses have to stop at all stations the train would stop. The car it is for me then.

During the 1980s Paisley was an absolutely buzzing town renowned for its nightlife and people travelled from all over (including Glasgow) for a night out. Brilliant clubs and bars and a tremendous atmosphere. In the 90s and early to mid 00s, it well and truly earned its reputation for being a bit of a dangerous place to spend a night. Since then it’s got its act together and whilst it’ll never regain the heights of the 80s, it’s back to being a good, friendly wee toon with some no frills but fun bars full of happy punters.

What it has NEVER been in my opinion is a shitehole.

Paisley has an impressive live scene and the current buddies team is not bad either.

  4. Admire what Tony Docherty has done for Dundee they have been a basket case club for too long.  Just hope they working within their means given their owners were knocked backed by Saints on due - diligence . Robinson is the best manager Saints have had in decades I'm going for a home win Saints will need to work hard to get the three points.

No replay in play due to a new SFA ruling.

Most memorable Scottish cup games for me between the two sides below.

St Mirren were very unfortunate not to win the first tie.

Zicos leg was broken by McGrain in the replay. That particular injury severely damaged our charge for the title that year which was Fergies first league title at Aberdeen.

The Love St ground capacity that night was tested. I’d say there was many more in the crowd that night than officially reported.

Thousands were locked out. Biggest crowd I was ever in at Love St.

    Date and time updated

I remember St Mirren and Celtic fans lifting fellow fans over their heads to safety as fans were getting crushed against the walls next to the turnstiles . Eventually fans just jumped through the turnstiles many got in for nothing. For sure the attendance was way above official figures. The second game was that the one the ref played extra time around 9 minutes? Until Celtic got the winner when in fact the game had not stopped much during the 90 minutes.

  6. Funnily when I took my seat the guy next to me said the pitch was looking a bit cut up. In fact from the QOS Cup game he reckons the cold spell and that game caused it. Normally our pitch is A1. On the game though we deserved at least a point. Gogic was Saints man of the match what a lad. Special mention for Craig Kiltie can see him moving onto bigger things . That Rangers number nine he would be hard pressed to get a game with St Mirren he won't last long at Ibrox.

Worst draw for the cup we could have gotten.

Against a team we wouldn't be expecting to beat, and with the way the gate receipts or TV money are worked out it's hardly a bumper pay day to offset any lack of possible progress. At least if it was an away draw we would get both more money and no need to cater for their fans.

What's more, we lose our loan player for the game. If Celtic had to pick who they'd play, they'd want a premiership team (thus no part time bar worker snapping their million pound player's legs) and if it's away they'd want one with a decent surface. While we might be 5th in the league, I genuinely feel they will be pretty happy with the draw, even with it being away.

It is what it is, and as Mowbray knows, we can pull the odd upset, but literally any other draw would have been better.

Is it just me who thinks we have a chance. I seen us beat Celtic in the cup at home a no d Hampden. We also beat a strong Rangers at home in the cup. Cups are different to league games players know it's a chance of glory in a one off game.

  8. Queens put Dundee United out the cup I don't see this as a forgone conclusion though Saints rightly are favourites. Safe journey to the Queen's faithful. Across from the main stand in a small industrial estate is a fixed food outlet should you arrive early and need a bite to eat and a warm drink their stuff is decent.
