They probably justify it by the the UK having hijacked what was a geopolitical term far older  than … well … either GB or the UK. And then it proceeded to make the term a bit of a public enemy (nowadays more of a laughing stock) across the globe.

I suppose “British” is easier for them to type than United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelandish”, which would at least be accurate. Even United Kingdomish would be truer than “British”, as not all of the British Isles (or their inhabitants) are owned by the UKInc.

    “British Isles”

Scottish Cup day with all the fascinating fixtures. The World Cup is on too. Looking forward therefore to five hours of chat about who will replace “Gio” and why VAR should be monitored by people who left formal education at the age of 9.

Ah but you get to watch English FA cup action instead on the BBC

I wouldn't go that far, they were clarifying something that had obviously been raised by complaints and had a duty to be transparent about.

Should the BBC really be publicly disclosing someone’s personal information like that though?

Or they recognised he improved our year on year, culminating in an unbeaten title win?

I’m not saying his name has nothing to do with it, but if you think a Premier League team are going to gamble their Premier League survival by appointment a manager based solely on his name then I think you’re clutching.

Remind me how he done at Villa again?

Winning a title against Neil Lennon behind closed doors isn’t the achievement you seem to think it is, and one that isn’t worthy of an EPL job

Hence why he got found out very quickly, firstly up here by both Rodgers and Ange and secondly at Villa

  5. Apparently he shat it when approached by Wolves about the job, he didn’t think he could handle the step up

Has a very poor record in Scotland as an assistant , and with fans allowed back into the stadium and no Neil Lennon I struggle to see how that record of failure will improve

I’m getting the impression no manger of merit of interested in taking over the clown show both on and off the pitch, hence why you’re going for someone with less than 12 months of experience

McInness called it right when he knocked them back
