Nah that’s bollocks.   There’s been a good mutual respect between him and the club/fans after he’s left, he was announced as being subbed and started to do the standard slowish walk you expect from a player 2-0 up before a quite audible boo came from the NW and I’m twice the distance as he’d have been from it, he’s quite entitled when walking off the winning player to hush that, I doubt he has any hard feelings

Maybe he just doesn’t like Fifers. Winds up Raith fans all the time too.

Truth be told I’m here for it.

I’m at home with a cracked rib.   Talksport’s coverage of this test is absolutely dire.  Any enjoyment I get from the action dissipates whenever Darren Gough comes on.

It’s really poor. The way Gough & Harmison gush you’d think England were 3-0 up in this series. The last test at least David Lloyd made it bearable.

  3. Feeling a bit more positive that Megwa is back. Hopefully Fordyce is back as he’s the only defender we have that can deal with the physicality of Oakley. Failing that, shove Ballantyne over to left back with Hancock and Watson at centre half.

Going to be a tough one, though!

  4. Fwiw I think Airdrie actually played well yesterday but gifted Ayr their goals. Dowds simply won’t have easier goals given to him this season. Just shows how big a miss Fordyce is when he’s not available - clearly he is an massive component behind the organisation of our defence - and his absence most likely forced our hand into playing Ballantyne when he’s not quite up to full speed yet. I think if Fordyce plays, we win that match.

Fair play to Ayr, they certainly do have our number this season. Hopefully we can do them over at Somerset on the telly next month to stop a whitewash.

Did any non 1924 members have any success on securing tickets for the celebration dinner?

Looks like it was virtually a Man Utd fan sell out before it was announced!

    FTFY.

In what is probably going to be the biggest event for the club to commemorate the 1924 Cup Success, it will be an absolute tragedy if rumours are to be believed and Man Utd fans have snapped up the tickets. Would’ve though the club would have ways and means to filter tickets through to our actual fans instead of just a “first come first served” type basis.

All fine in hindsight but would probably have been worth leaving the guest announcements until after tickets had been sold. Yer die hards are going to go to these events regardless of who is on stage.

Think we are just to tidy ,hard game to judge as they are miles ahead of us  and most teams in Scotland, back to league business on Sat ,need to get a bit more ruthless, not trying to knock us but definitely need end product or all the nice on the eye football is out the window ,back to playing like we did against the rover with big Toddy challenging everything ,

Heard that PH put a £6million bid in for Shankland on Sunday night, and £10million for Miovski.

A list of players to be released if we get promoted would arguably be a stranger list to have though

Not necessarily. Heard from quite early on last season that there were a number of Airdrie players who wouldn’t be kept on if we went up, but would be offered new terms if we stayed in League One.

Funnily enough I'm also the one complaining about the decision to close an entire section of the stand to accommodate hospitality and shunt people who have been supporting the club, financially and vocally, away from that entire area. I'll make clear I'm not far away from that part of the stadium anyway but for me the matchday experience is about more than watching football, partly due the football being so shite for so long, and is more a social thing. Seeing the people who are in that general area who you've got to know over the years and have plenty of chat with and who will now be scattered around the stand. Again not a huge thing but the whole way that this was done in conjunction with the closure of car parks to supporters leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Probably because I've seen enough instances over the years of regular support being taken for granted. Again I'm fortunate in that I'm fit, mobile and can drive through from Stirling in plenty of time, find a place to abandon the car and walk to the ground. Not everyone is that fortunate and not everyone of those people will have the blue badges that the club will accommodate. Rounding off the statement with advice to give consideration to using public transport, on a Sunday, was just the icing on that particular cake.

A venerable stance on B-teams but I think the whole faux outrage over using the middle section for hospitality is a bit daft - but maybe that’s because we managed to get our usual seats. I also assume that it was a police decision to close the car parks after the broadcaster claimed their part for trucks and production vehicles and the polis decided what part of the car park they wanted for their wagons, by the time you include players, officials and disabled spaces there wouldn’t be much space left for anyone else.

As I said previously it’s been a long time since there’s been a match of this magnitude at the Shyberry, possibly since Rangers were in League One with us? But if we continue on an upward trend there’s going to be some bed wetting when this happens six or eight times a season.

ETA: need to remember the amount of income that the club are making from this cup run could be enough to sustain us in the Championship a bit longer or push us on that bit more to bigger things. Worth the pain of 90 minutes in a different seat, I’d think.

  9. I know merch prices have been daft for years but I was just about to buy a new Williams t-shirt, added to cart and hit pay… was just doing the verification thing via the bank app and find that they’ve added £10 on top of the displayed price “tax”. So to keep the t-shirt under £50 they’re displaying a price excluding VAT which is a bit naughty.
