  1. You’ll tend to find that’s what 5 seasons in league one does to a club with a premiership fan base. I really don’t think anyone should be disgraced for their negative opinions anymore. If they are proved wrong and we finally have a decent season, fair enough. However it’s reasonable to have serious doubts going into this season 100%
  2. Problem for me is that I don’t believe any average fan has any idea what they’re actually doing and it will be a massive guessing game. I still feel we need to open to larger investment and accept that there is always potential for another group to do a better job. I understand that the board is made up of different expertise, however I don’t think financially or from a football pov this model will work particularly well going forward.
  3. The problem is that the first 4 on that list are the same first team options we had last season who just weren’t good enough consistently. Morrison for me is arguably the most over rated player I’ve actually ever seen at Falkirk. Most games he’s way below average and actually makes our attack weaker. Probably not a shocking statement but I’d have much rather kept Kennedy. Obviously we have to give new players like Miller a chance but he doesn’t fill me with confidence. We do absolutely still need one more attack minded midfielder.
  4. The one thing I can not understand is people still thinking our fans whine and moan more than the average fan base would in our situation. the utter dross we have been subjected to over the last 5 years would have seen most clubs lose almost all their home fans, yet we still come in brilliant numbers. if we don’t start the season well and continue where we left off last season (playing utter pish) the fans will be more than within their rights to let it be known.
  5. This has taken a battering for dislikes, but why does this seem unlikely to anyone in here? Our (failed) recruitment policy for the last 4 years has been to sign guys from the championship who haven’t been offered new deals and hope they can hit their best form for us. How often has that actually worked? I think it’s the furthest thing from exciting just taking players from the league above who aren’t wanted. For me we really need to start thinking outside the box a bit more because ultimately a team of championship rejects will not win you league one.
  6. Utterly wrong. I won’t be getting political however clearly playing an amateur football match is in no way disrespectful to queen Elizabeth. I defy anyone to accuse me of being thick for thinking so.
  7. That’s the exact mentality that saw us stay 18 months in a pointless lockdown. They’ve done the right thing and only followed their logic rather than ridiculous rules.
  8. And the truth is of course that it is a penalty and a red card.
  9. Gets me every time when people try to put Petravivious in the same category as the likes of Lewis, Haber and Fasan. For me he was our best player that season due to the fact that he was a trier and had genuine pace. Only slight form of excitement in that team anyway.
  10. This debate ties into the problem with the world now. All abuse is actually bad, yes. However, there are times where you absolutely have to look at the situation in isolation. The song is a bit of a pointless throw away, it doesn’t hold any real malice and it isn’t specifically attacking anyone as it’s such a ridiculously broad statement. If you’re offended by that song you really really do need to get a grip of yourself. How anyone could compare that to throwing a banana at Someone is far beyond me
  11. I think at this point it would be acceptable to be a bit concerned. We still have an enormous amount of guff in our squad, the signings so far haven’t been amazing and ultimately I can’t see us attracting all that high a quality of player to the club given our situation. It really will be a huge job for Mcglynn this season.
  12. Muirhead was a funny one. He was never a RB yet was forced to play there for almost his whole time at the club. I’d say he had two seasons where you could say he was solid and doing a job, after the 16/17 season he was a complete bomb scare. Liked an argument with supporters as well, not for me as a player.
  13. Game was absolutely rotten. Neither team are anything special. Falkirk put Arbroath to bed last season and I’m fairly sure with any sort of decent recruitment this season coming, we won’t be far behind you soon enough.
  14. I hope Dunfermline sack Hughes. They will no doubt bring in some textbook Scottish manager who will be absolutely rotten. Yogi has the ability to get a tune from that team I think, awful end to the season but he’s still a better shout than most in this country.
  15. Any revisionism on Yogi is ridiculous tbh. I’m 23 years old, I’ve not seen anything better than what Hughes offered. It was exciting and progressive at the time. He might not be pulling trees up for other clubs but for us he was brilliant.
  16. having listened to that mess of an interview last night and seeing both the Cove and Peterhead game, I’m fairly willing to write off Rennie already. He mentions that we need to protect ourselves defensively better when we are attacking for a winner, at home, against Peterhead? f**k me show some ambition. I know it’s not as simple as we wish it was, however, we should not be having to worry about keeping the back door shut against the bottom side at home, let alone being pummelled by them. in my view our season is now totally finished and it’s another manager I can’t wait to see the back of.
  17. How ridiculous can you be? He used it as an example presumably because it is a massive building with a huge capacity. Not everything has to be bigoted or racist ffs
  18. One thing that got me with the Q&A was the constant banging on about the new scouting and recruitment system. If it’s so good and groundbreaking then why are we signing the exact type of player that has shafted us for the last 2 seasons. Barely professional jobbers who are clinging on to pro football. The board are so hopeless and Holt is the tip of the iceberg.
  19. I 100% stand by this, Airdrie have some good players but Murray has very little to do with current success. Would be a total disaster at Falkirk.
  20. Just to be clear, Ian Murray plays drivel football and basically relies on poor opponents to pick up points, the opposite of what we need. I'd actually much rather have Taylor/Grant and I'm about 75% sure that won't work either.
  21. Fair play MSRR. Got @johnnydun on strings here, and we're supposed to be the team getting the piss ripped out us
  22. I think that majority of fans know we are utter gash from top to bottom, that doesn't change the fact we are FAR too big a club for league one, and with our budget shouldn't be there at all let alone for 3 seasons. Other fans can deservedly point and laugh but it's not entitled thinking that we don't belong in fucking league one.
  23. I'm not saying he would. The argument I was seeing was that MSRR was a moron for suggesting Pressley would be a better bet than Holt for this role. I was talking hypothetically, I'm aware he more than likely is still delusional enough to think he can get a premiership gig. His record after Falkirk is indefensible, I'm purely talking about what he done for us. Which I believe is massively underestimated.
  24. A lot of managers would have just sat in and hoped for the best with young players. Pressley from the beginning tried to play football. And in doing so, he put the young players on the shop window, it was brave and it played off. A team with an average age of 19 finishing 3rd, reaching a semi final and winning a trophy was a great achievement. It's fairly annoying how dismissive some of our fans are about Pressley. Falkirk were a club with style and he adhered to that. I'm not sure any manager since has in all honesty.
  25. Are we seriously suggesting that Pressley didn't recruit better than Holt? I'm afraid Holt found his style when he brought in big Beck and it was hoof ball. He's continued that at Livi and I'm sure he will take it here. Our team is drivel at best atm so we will need a large turnover. Guys like Farid, Vaulks, Leahy and Miller were discovered by Pressley, not to mention all the young players he brought through, which brought money in that effectively saved our club. The football was also probably considerably better than anything we've seen since. The pride you feel when your own youngsters are beating Rangers and making national semi finals can't be beaten by anything, especially not bottling a league title with the best squad in the league by a mile like Holt did. I can understand the hesitance towards Pressley because of his management history after Falkirk, however looking at what he done for us as a manager, I would think a DOF role would suit him perfectly.
