  1. Well, a BRE report a few years ago calculated savings of 80p to £4 per extrenal radiator (per year) depending on house construction. That's at normal energy prices too. Given that a roll of this stuff is under a tenner I'd say its worth it.
  2. If you can get sheets for a few quid they'll absolutely pay themselves. They'll last forever unlike lightbulbs so even a low% saving is absolutely worth it. The case gets stronger with a price 'cap' approaching £4k
  3. Happy to be corrected here but rads completely off possibly isnt the best advice. I'd read previously that the lockshield valves on each rad can be used to balance your system. Essentially the same idea you're suggesting but the upstairs rads get *some* flow through them but the majority of the hot water is 'pushed' downstairs. Ive noticed the benefit in my living room which has a radiator that is the last one in the loop and was often lukewarm at best. A quick search for balancing radiators on youtube will explain it. Also worth looking into deflector sheets to sit between external walls and radiators. Hope this is helpful.
  4. I don't think he's a bad driver, he's just not a great driver. I'm not sure his personality is all that great tbh. Comes across quite annoying imo.
  5. Tried two cask strength drams tonight. Glenfarclas 105 sample from a pal and Benromach 2012. Both very similar in cask make up/ABV/price/age Benromach... You could be convinced its Springbank. 105 is sweeter and not peated at all which is quite noticeable side by side. Benromach probably just edges it for me. Maybe a little older (10yr age statement) and all first fill bourbon/sherry casks. Both cracking drams though. Would recommend both. Also a wee picture from Benromach this week
  6. Who knows. I think IMD will be feeling the pinch with this project plus the energy prices biting hard. Their pricing has gone daft on Tamdhu in particular.
  7. They'll have decanted the bottles for sure. Its commonplace in bottling halls.
  8. They redesigned the labels so if its the standard label then yes. The new one is like the 10yo, bottom edge resembles the skye south coastline
  9. The 'stealth' of something like that freaks me out. Needs to be repeatedly mentioned such as posts like this. Thanks.
  10. Seeing quite a few of the boys tomorrow at a house warming. Followed by a week off work and a stag do next weekend. El vino will flow.
  11. Does my head in. Wear a fůckin jumper and stop being a boring arsehōle. The week it was 30degrees they were queuing up to moan about it being cold. The guys in the office have started wearing trainers and jeans in the office as we were the only ones previously making an effort.
  12. Im sitting sipping my open bottle i got last year. Its great but its not at the new price. Crazy money.
  13. Translation... We are risking Lewis' wellbeing rather than raising the ride height.
  14. Thats talisker 18 finally back out on shelves. An extra £100 now, £175 bandits man.
  15. Picked up a Glenturret 12 after a win at the bookies on Saturday. Id say its definitely a cut above your other 12yo drams. Wonderfully sherried whisky but a £60 price tag to match
  16. Let's be honest, if it weren't massively in favour of the dealership they wouldn't be pushing it. This feeling of the consumer 'winning' on the final value is just part of the bait. Extremely clever scheme.
  17. True, although there's no asset remaining and you'd be getting the bus. Once you're in these deals, unless you go car-less you'll be on the hook forever.
  18. No gloating from me. People who have an above average income and over extend are in my view asking for trouble. History tells you of crashes so its just a matter of time until one comes along. It's grim that people need to learn the hard way but its inevitable that those who are over exposed through unnecessary spending will suffer.
  19. If I'm honest, I don't have a huge amount of sympathy. Some people are totally irresponsible with how they spend their money and the exposure they create for themselves. Myself and the missus have always lived on one salary despite both bringing one in. Could have the fancy cars, new kitchen etc but it's just keeping up with the Jones' behaviour going down that route.
  20. Can't help but feel so many people are blindly walking into this winter period of even higher energy bills. Aside from the obvious poorest people suffering, you're going to see previously comfortable households feeling the pinch. They'll be nothing meaningful to cut from expenditure either, with 2x PCP cars in the drive and food prices draining the funds. Will be a hard lesson for people who really shouldn't be in a financially precariously position.
  21. Nice one! Well done on the PhD, your other half must have hunted to find this if it was bottled in 2015. I had a 19yo Signatory Longmorn a few years ago. They're pricey but exceptional drams. I still use the decanter as my infinity bottle.
  22. Im sure Alonso is quite happy with life. He's been at the top and now just enjoying racing for as long as he can with an enormous bank balance. Always looks pretty chilled in press interviews etc. Plus throw in the occasional shithousing of hamilton to keep things exciting.
  23. Backed Verstappen at 9/2 a few laps in, could see that coming a mile off.... easy money.
  24. This has been really good so far, calling it early but this will end up being an absolute classic if it rains here.
