No, no, no, you're all wrong, I'm afraid. Dad's Army wasn't the inspiration behind Star Wars. It's actually what inspired Bram Stoker to create Dracula. Ya know, when Monty Python's Terry Jones was making Bram Stoker's Dracula back in the early '90s, he originally wanted an entirely different cast. Instead of Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, and Winona Ryder, he wanted Pamela Anderson as Dracula, Roy 'Chubby' Brown as Van Helsing, the yucca plant from that episode of One Foot in the Grave as Jonathan Harker, and, as Mina, he'd originally cast a VHS copy of Spaceballs, but had to bring in Winona Ryder instead when the tape got eaten up in Saddam Hussein's video recorder. I think ya all just got Spaceballs and Star Wars confused.
