Anyone been to Salerno? Off to Sicily next month for 3 weeks, got a flat booked in Catania but intend to do a bit of travelling around. There's a fairly inexpensive ferry from Palermo to Salerno and reasonable flights back from Naples to Catania. There's obviously plenty to see in Sicily but I like boat trips.

P.S. Alternatively I see the bus from Naples airport to Sorrento is 10 euros and takes 70 mins, so might just fly both ways and find another boat trip.

It's a nice city to base yourself in for being in the Amalfi Coast but I wouldn't say there was a lot of sights there. Good place to get a meal though and it's clean, nice and not touristy.

    So with new rumours and a couple of additions, the transfer list for the senior squad looks like;

    • Colak        - 28 - 320 appearances
    • Lawrence - 28 - 300
    • Davies - 26 - 270
    • Souttar     - 25 - 230
    • Cutrone - 24 - 190
    • Matondo  - 21 - 80
    • Yilmaz - 21 - 50
    • Tillman     - 20 - 30

Worries about Cutrone aside that seems pretty decent business, replacing those transferred out and strengthening where needed? And getting Tav, Goldson and the rest signed back up.

It seems like good business to me. I'd prefer if Cutrone was a loan as I'm not convinced on him. As an option while Roofe and all are injured it makes sense though.

I'm desperate for at least one of Kent and Morelos to sign a new contract though. Would be huge.

  3. Go to Paestum for a day trip. Maybe an hour and 20 minute train or so from Naples. Has a 2500 year old Greek and Roman city ruin complex which is well worth seeing, farms if you want to try and see some fresh Burrata and the beaches there are good and much more untouched/quiet than you would get in the Amalfi coast.

I really disliked Naples but we were in the area near the veiled christ which was a bit manky and hectic. Supposedly the Spanish quarter is much better so I'd try there first.

Salerno is a great place to stay in that area. Cheaper than Sorrento but you can easily access everything especially by ferry. Clean, good restaurants and a lot less touristy than other places in the Amalfi coast. The tourists there are like all Italians.

    Rangers?

Aye, pumped out against Malmö, stumbled through against the Armenians, won 2/6 in the group stages, needed two goals chalked off to beat Red Star, needed extra time to beat Braga, and squeezed through against the Red Bull tossers, but aye "Rangers were fantastic".

Did you watch all Sevco's games in Europe? Is that how you know they were fantastic ye Quisling?

And you come on here sucking up to them to get some Sevco greenies...

On the one hand, they want to tell us all how they have one of the world's biggest supports, and then we're supposed to get down on our knees and praise them for beating Braga and a Red Bull team.

And if you just want to be 'fair-minded' then I wouldn't bother, when has Sevco, or Oldco for that matter, played fair?

    You're genuinely inadvertently hilarious.

I wonder if his performance is a combination of fighting for his place but also being happier having a fellow Croat there in Colak. Also Katic is back currently.

I saw they were at that new Croatian restaurant in Pollokshields together so there could be something in what you're saying. It's excellent as well by the way. Squid ink risotto goes down great with a glass of white there.

Of our out and out strikers, we’ve got Alfie, Roofe and Colak. There’s too many niggling injuries and an age profile that skews too old in that for me, think if we got something for Roofe I’d have him away and then bring in someone and promote a youngster.

I can't see us getting much worthwhile for Roofe while he's injured though.

Reading a lot on Twitter about Kent’s performance and the impact of the new signings tonight - but I’m not reading enough about the performance of Borna Barisic in the first half who I thought was Rangers star man until he went off. Jarod Bowen was one of the best wingers in the EPL last season and never got a sniff.

He was brilliant. Clearly working very hard to impress too. Even pressing their goalkeeper at one point if I remember correctly!

GvB said in his post match interview that we are looking to buy another left back though. Been linked with Yilmaz of Besiktas this morning.

I don’t want support from my children in my old age. I will organise my life and affairs to make sure it is not required.

Too often I have seen parents feeling that their adult children “owe” them in some way. My children owe me nothing and never will. It was not their choice to come into the world, it was mine and my wife’s.

So you wouldn't be upset or sad if your children didn't visit you at all in your old age? If they didn't bring their own children over so you could meet your grandkids?

    Aberdeen , Liverpool and ?

But seriously; they are wetting themselves at buying a guy for 800k never playing him, putting him out on loan therfor paying next to nothing for his keep then selling him for £4m. By all accounts he had a meh season out on loan to top it off.

I wasn't having a dig at The Rangers, just an observation.

He only had 6 months left on his deal when they paid that for him. I do think we've overpaid here especially if it's £4m as a full fee though. Sky Sports are reporting it as £3m + £1m in add-ons but The Times broke the story first.
