  1. Two broken knees and a broken nose. Impressive indeed! :-)
  2. Sparky was interviewed in a newspaper the other day and said he had his nose broken in a bounce match against Livingston the other week. Also turns out this is the same match that Davo lost his captaincy because of a few actions. Sounds like there could have been a mass brawl at that match!
  3. Where have I said that McGlynn has already gone? If you read my above post which I wrote around half two this afternoon, I said that I wasn't 'entirely sure' that Aberdeen would hire McGlynn because of the compensation involved. I also do not believe that Aberdeen directors would be fully convinced that McGlynn has the experience that they are looking for. I don't want McGlynn to leave and I certainly haven't 'replaced him'. I'm simply speculating about Andy C's post where he stated who would take over if McGlynn and Paul Smith were to leave the club.
  4. While I agree that Murray & Ellis could possibly act as caretaker managers, I don't imagine they would be in charge for longer than a week or two, until the board appoint a proper manager.
  5. After spending £300,000, or more, getting rid of McGhee and his two assistants, I'm not entirely sure Aberdeen would want to fork out another £75,000 (ish) to take McGlynn. Although I have to admit, he would probably do a fantastic job up there. He's good at motivating and doesn't accept laziness. Although in that sense, Yogi Hughes wouldn't be much better or worse at that either. It just when tactical awareness comes into it that the two afore-mentioned mangers fail a bit... However, Aberdeen are in a relegation fight and at the moment Yogi & McGlynn would be good options to steer them away from relegation. Anyway...incase Aberdeen directors read this (you never know)...MCGLYNN'S PISH! PLEEEEASE TAKE HIM ABERDEEN!
  6. I understand where you're coming from, but when we played three up front in Division 2 I didn't see the other two strikers as playing in wingers positions, but actually running alongside Smith, although to be fair, if need be, running into the channel too. Right now, I see it as McBride and Williamson playing a normal wingers role and rarely partnering Mole up at the top. It doesn't really matter as right now, McGlynn will play the way you've suggested if Wales and Baird get a game at the same time.
  7. In my mind, we did not play that way in latter stages of the Second Division, we clearly had three strikers up front. The situation you're describing is the only way that McGlynn would play in the First Division.
  8. some of my favourite days with those three up front in the Second Division. Mon' the Wales!
  9. He's back! http://raithroversfc.com/cgi-bin/latestnews.cgi?id=3532
  10. I know he hasn't signed or anything yet and it's only talk, but part of me doesn't want Wales to sign on. I pretty much idolised the guy when he played for us in the Second Division as I felt he was just a class above everyone else, but he's getting on a bit now and has never really been all that successful at another club, so I almost don't want him to come back, be shite, and start not being able to say the guy was brilliant.
  11. He was maybe so pissed off with the ban that he didn't pose for a picture with the October award, because the picture on the Rovers website is the same one as the August manager of the month picture. You can even seen 'August' on the trophy.
  12. Edinburgh Capitals coach Brad Gratton resigned yesterday. Not sure how I feel about it. Results haven't been great, but the team actually seem better than last season in spells. Reports of player unrest which led to him leaving. I'm just a bit 'meh' about it all.
  13. At least we'll get to see if it's Paul Smith or McGlynn himself who orders stupid substitutions. Also, how silly must have McGlynn have been to get himself so worked up at a penalty in a reserve fixture?! I don't know what happened, but it was most likely needless by McGlynn.
  14. I think a PA reporter said that Dougie would be out for around 3 months after speaking to McGlynn so I hope that's true, rather than 'the majority of the season'.
  15. I don't think we'll be seeing Sparky playing in the first team for some time. To be honest I'm still not 100% convinced he'll make a full recovery from his accident.
  16. Just thought I'd add this as I can't believe no one has pointed it out yet on here (although to be fair I can't be bothered to look on Fan Talk to see if anyone has brought it up). Marvin Andrews signed for Wrexham yesterday, a team who play in the Blue Square Premier League. It should be interesting to see how he gets on there. Wrexham played today but Andrews doesn't appear to have been in the squad. Link.
