  1. Whenever someone says Smith's name, the first thing that comes into my head is that moment. I think it was the big centre back ?David Lilley? he pushed. Lilley, or whoever it was, looked to be foaming at the mouth in anger.
  2. Hi Darren. *waves* For what it's worth, I wouldn't punt Smith and if I were McGlynn I would play him whenever I could, I'm a big fan of the boy. He's not utterly fantastic, but he is a gutsy wee player who doesn't run around like a headless chicken (that was a dig at Ryan Borris). Instead, Smith whips in some great balls from out wide and can beat the full back on many an occasion.
  3. Fair enough, I always thought that John was on the board, or at least at some point he had. Agree Michael, it sounds like the board weren't happy with John, however, if his brother is on the board then maybe John is now just focusing on his other job?
  4. John Drysdale has left the club. I'd guess Whistle Blower will be happy with this due to John being on the board when Rovers nearly ceased to exist, but what is everyones view on this? Can't say I expected it myself.
  5. That is a fantastic phrase that I am going to steal off you. I don't have anything against the posters on fan talk and neither do I think they're stupid or that I'm better than them, but I have to say, I too, rely on the few posters on here that post any decent news that emerges from fan talk. I'm not even sure if I could believe that. He skulks around the pitch and every now or then he gets bored, pretends to karate kick a ball and instead goes right through an opposition player. He never seems to accept the blame for any of his wrong doings, his head appears to drop quicker than most players when we concede a goal and he makes me cringe when he flies up to a referee with his arms flapping and his eyes bulging. Apart from that, I don't rate his 'talent'. I wonder how many 'passes' of his have gone flying down Pratt Street? 100% agree. Unfortunately Simmons is quite often being an idiot, especially in the second half of this season. I would describe myself as having this attitude too. I don't even sigh or swear when I look at the teamsheet and see Simmons and Davo in the middle of midfield, I just turn a blind eye and hope it goes away (in the nicest possible way).
  6. I still watch those two goals every now and then. Miss you Gary. xxx
  7. Temper Trap were awesome. Picture House has a shite sound system, but Temper Trap did a good job with the resources on hand.
  8. Temper Trap at the Picture House in Edinburgh tonight. Should be good, although the guy's voice seems a little weak and out of tune on live youtube videos.
  9. Couldn't remember the goal, so had a wee look at the official site but still can't recollect it. We'd be able to see it if Ayr didn't charge money for being able to watch their highlights. Yeh I agree with that. For me, it was the highest point of this season. Haven't celebrated a goal like that since Mark Ferry's 93rd minute winner against Arbroath last season. Laurie's goal sent a mixture of emotions through me. A hell of a lot of surprise, pleasure of seeing such a beautiful goal and the joy of being so much closer to seeing Raith play in a Scottish Cup semi final. Obviously Bert's goal was class, it was in the first league game against the Pars in so long and he rarely scores, so I can see why it was chosen.
  10. Yeh, that's where I tend to agree as well. Rovers don't need someone who is going to run around a lot and has the option of being punted onto the wings whenever needed (like Johnny Russell), we need someone who can hold the ball up and get into positions where he can find the net regularly, like what Kris Boyd does and what Kevin Smith did.
  11. Yeh, I wasn't very optimistic of him being a success in a Rovers shirt when I saw him play this season, even in the 3-0 defeat at Broomfield where he scored two goals IIRC. However, as we have seen from such cases as Gregory Tade and Dougie Hill, who knows how much McGlynn can get out of him?
  12. Website has now announced who McGlynn has released and who is staying next season. Edited to add: It's interesting that Joe Dunbar has 'left' the club when he supposedly left last season. What is the true story with this lad? I thought we released him at the end of last season to play for a junior team. Then the SFL last summer bizarrely placed an article on their site claiming that he was up for sale, yet I thought he was already gone. Did he just sign for a junior team on loan or something?
  13. Just thought I'd post my second favourite Bobby Sloan goal. There was a picture in the Sunday Mail the day after of Sloan celebrating with Craig Winter after the goal which I still have to this day. Sloan picks the ball up, runs forward with the ball and then at the edge of the box pings a shot with his right foot in off the bar. Fantastic. The video also shows his usual neat passes too throughout the match. Great servant to the club. All the best Bobby. The goal is about 3 minutes in.
  14. 50 games Grant Murray?! I actually saw the headline on the home page of the official website, but it didn't click that all those 50 came in just one season. What an absurd amount of games to have played already! Incredible.
  15. I'm very unsure about Thierry. In patches, he looks a class above this level and in others he looks god damn awful. If McGlynn feels he can get the best out of him consistently then I think we'll see Thierry next season, otherwise, it's Division 2 or oblivion for Thierry.
  16. Yeh, the extremely petty side of me gets slightly annoyed that people sing 'home'. Although when we're away from home, 'home in Kirkcaldy' sounds better as obviously we aren't 'here in Kirkcaldy'anymore. But yeh, the petty side of me.
