A Dunfermline win would be good for Scottish football.
No result today is going to change the fact that United will win the title.
As they should.

However the game goes on Saturday, it’s really positive to see a Fife derby with a good crowd in.
My experience of matches at Starks tells me it will not be a technically pleasant match but we just have to see a better level of performance. I’d obviously take a positive result but play shite but last two games have been concerning.
Seems McPake is mulling over whether to risk Bene and I think he really should. A real shame that neither Todd or KRH will make it back in time but not unsurprising.

It’s staggering how much Matty Todd has rattled an entire football club.

At least the women’s team showed a bit of fight at the weekend!

Couple of defeats and suddenly we’re just shite. Following a couple of wins where everyone had us pushing for the Top 4.
No matter how much football changes, fans will remain as fickle as ever.

Can see me buying a gilet at this rate!
Went to firhill instead but kept an eye on a dodgy stream - a good laugh all round.
I'm beginning to wonder if we got lucky with those midfield injuries and have (after a settling in period) upgraded in there.
Dunfermline were just rubbish, how were the boos?
Easily the most vociferous of the McPake era.
Nowhere near Grant/Hughes levels though.

There’s a guy at the back of the Norrie who has the most consistent terrible shouts I’ve heard at a Pars game in some time.
Best one yesterday was when Wighton played a good through ball to McCann in the second half and this brain donor started complaining that Wighton wasn’t already in the middle for the cross.

I’d play Bene even if he’s still wearing the fucking moon boot.

Pars head to Kirkcaldy following a couple of extremely disheartening performances/results and we simply have to play better or we will get swallowed up.
It’s not a crisis but this is probably the first time McPake has anything approaching a sticky spell and I’m really hoping we see a much-improved display.
Rovers have had an impressive start and unfortunately we’re playing them just before the clocks go back.

We play Rovers and United in our next three games. If we perform in those games like we’ve done in our previous couple of efforts then we will get battered.

Big fella at the back, captains armband, was on the winning side.

I *guess* we improved in the second half and certainly should have scored but that was a very poor performance and a well deserved defeat.
We were awful but Ayr played really well at times and could easily have scored a bagful if it wasn’t for a combination of poor finishing, smart saves and last-ditch tackles. Felt Logan Chalmers absolutely ran us ragged.
The players and coaching staff needed a reaction to the Thistle defeat and despite having three weeks to prepare, that was what was delivered. Really not good enough and already fearful for next week’s derby…

Are we playing well or are Dunfermline really poor so far??
Both.

This game should be all over.
1-0 flatters us to an incredible degree. No exaggeration that Ayr should be 3 or 4 goals clear. Fair play to them, they’ve looked very good.
Not even sure what to say about us. Easily the worst 45 minutes under McPake and one of the worst performances I can remember so far.
Hooking Chalmers and Hamilton at least shows McPake is fully aware what a debacle it’s been but the changes have made zero impact.

If the pitch is playable now then game should be on IMO. Worst of the weather has been and gone, although it did rain heavily all day yesterday.
There has been no mention of an inspection so fingers crossed!

Telling ye, Dunfermline are shitting themselves at the thought of McGinty coming to town
Genuinely no idea who that is.

Maybe Friday will be worse but don’t think it’s been too bad in Dunfermline today tbh.

Much like the game at Tannadice earlier in the season, if you disagree with the pricing of a game then don’t buy a ticket.
Crying about the cost but purchasing a ticket anyway is just a complete waste of time.

Seriously have a look at your own club before commiting on our finances. It'd been stated we are on budget for the season, but your club won't refund ticket money from the Arbroath game and couldn't afford Wotherspoon.
Of course they won’t refund Arbroath tickets until a new date has been arranged?
It is funny that we get years of Rovers fans criticising Pars for overspending and now it’s apparently also bad that we’re not chucking the money around.

ScotRail binning loads of services between tomorrow and Saturday…

Proactive move would be to switch this to Sunday afternoon or Tuesday night tomorrow.
It’s going to be torrential downpours from first thing tomorrow until Saturday night. Not a chance this goes ahead as scheduled IMO.

Don’t want to be “that guy” but the weather is once again looking atrocious heading into the weekend.
Provided we don’t get another waterlogged pitch, it doesn’t look like the conditions are going to be very enjoyable.

I remember as a kid being absolutely devastated when we lost 3-0 (?) at Ayr in the Scottish Cup.
Gus McPherson scored an OG.

A poor spectacle overall but not a game we ever should have lost. However, got what we deserved for attempting to settle for a goalless draw with half an hour to go.
Goal was terrible defending and it allowed Rovers to nick three points when they’d barely threatened all afternoon. Just asking for it when you sit back like that.
Felt we were actually pretty decent for the first hour or so and certainly should have been in front. McCann’s knock seemed to hurt us and the injuries for Bene and Fisher are real blows as well.
Three defeats in a row now and haven’t scored a goal during that spell. With a tricky game at Cappielow on Friday - followed by free-scoring United arriving at EEP - could be fast approaching a really tricky spell for McPake.
Have to say, scenes before the game in town were just ridiculous, as were the handbags from players and coaching staff at the end. Reflects poorly on all involved.
