Hopefully Glen-D will be patched for more traditional scouting, regardless if that's from any of the home nations or abroad. I think it was used to support L.B. who didn't seem to have built a network like Uncle Ian (or various other managers) had. I just hope this time isn't wasted and although I'm apprehensive around recruitment, I'm excited to see what happens....

At the Pars game Mathie said "Scottish players with Championship experience".

Glendinning recommends players based on data and the club then decide if they sign them. It’s not like Glendinning is wandering about public parks in England and the. Shipping players up that Ayr have to take like I think some people think.

The problem has been that there is no traditional scouting. They will get a report, watch some clips online and then get them up for a chat. In a lot of cases, the players have just been poor in Scottish football or played out of position.
If you were signing someone like Robbie Crawford, you have evidence of what he can do, you could phone someone at a previous club and find out what they are like as a person or chances are, one of your team may have played with them.

The loans Brown brought in were via contacts at short notice so the scouting was maybe sketchy.

This window may be different and Brown may be more sceptical of the players recommended than Bullen,  or he may sign any old shite from down south. It’ll still come with more risk than signing someone who has performed at this level or above.

Its also prudent to mention that Glendinning doesn't exclusively work for Ayr United .

wish we would kick off the rebuild with a bit of a marquee signing that will turn a few heads and a few further players our way.

Now, I know this doesn’t always guarantees success, but what does in the championship other than the biggest budget?

I feel it would be good for the fans and create a nice buzz that would get a few more season tickets sold.

Yes , like when the Moff and Geeg's returned from the Pars . Was buzzing for the season to start after those two came back .

Musonda is an excellent player at this level. He’s at the top of my list of players to keep. Him, Stanger, Mcginty and, if we sign him permanently, Sanders give us very solid options.  He’s got plenty of cover so I’m never bricking it when he’s out injured or away on international duty.
It’s the lack of cover at full back that’s the issue at the back.

Frankie is decent and maybe could be a first class sweeper if we go 3/5 at the back . He deffo has the touch and passing skills to play in behind two big lumps who like smashing everything . Its the missing 50% of our games that is the issue .... I guess we'll know how Brown feels about that pretty soon .

Very much want to see us really go for it here with an attacking line up, and that's what I expect Brown to go for. We were decent yesterday, but without Dowds up top it just wasn't clicking where it needed to in the final third.

Scored 50 goals this season ,only two behind Raith Rovers  and fourth overall in the division . Lost 58 , only team worse than us was Arbroath . Defence is  the main area of concern . However who doesn't like a striker that can get 20 goals or a midfielder that can get a dozen .

Seeing that's us safe who would you like to see coming in

Myself new cd winger Thomas from Queens Park &up front quitongo from Morton + a couple of squad players.

New Keeper .  Fullback that can play both sides . Two central midfielders : one a stopper like Adams the other a passer like Kerr ., A no 10 with goals . Dowds .

Not sure they would attract sufficient walk up’s to cover for the shortfall.

Let’s say we have what 900 season ticket holders who sign up yearly. If they all go 5 yearly, we get a shit load of extra money in year 1.

We throw a load of money at the team, gain promotion to the promised land. Attract some new fans and have a couple of years in the Premier League before doing a Livvy and coming back down.

We then find ourselves back the championship, probably with a significantly higher wage bill than we have now and still have 2 years with no season ticket money coming in and crowds that are in decline because those new fans we attracted during the good years don’t hang around.

It’s all hypothetical but we definitely wouldn’t be the first club to try to throw money at it and fail…..

Maybe the 5 year tickets are capped at so many per year to ensure a more steady income stream over time.

Your forgetting a cool £2.5 million in prize money for our 28 months in the top flight . Kind of make the landing less bumpy .

He's free to speak to other teams once he's less than six months left on his contract.

Anton is no spring chicken ,maybe four years left in his football career . I don't think its all about the money with him , as he'll make plenty in his career after the game ,so lets get him in on a three year deal with an option and the boy can just concentrate on playing every week with the Super Ayr . Hopefully Brown has the ability to get this done and get him a high end no10 to play beside .

Fans of the ‘small Uniteds’ (Ayr, Lochee, Manchester, etc) should never refer to themselves as “United fans”.

and you lot should stop kidding yourselves on that you are the main club in your home city ..

'm not renewing this season, well not at the moment.  Missed a few games for other reasons and missed a few because I just couldn't be arsed going along.  Value for money entertainment wise has just not been there and until I see some form of rectifying that in the summer (serious additions to the squad) I will just do PATG.  Been to 12 of our 16 home league games, 2 wins, 2 draws 8 defeats, scored 12 goals and conceded 20

You sound like a Livingston fan mate . Each to their own though .

There's around 800 seats in total with under 200 for hospitality.  Our hospitality will double in size which was the main aim.  New offices inside for the club with space to rent, new area for disabled section which is long overdue and will have a sensory room.  Think that was put on hold as the cost of the works almost doubled.

I think its more like quadruple .....

Good.  We need to get to a point where minimal incoming players are quality additions, rather than a wholesale influx of 'projects'

Tend to agree with this . If we can sign a quality full back that can play both side like Liam Smith we could just about get bye at fullback .

Bit of time on the bench might do him good but never been convinced by him. McGinty and Musonda are interchangeable for me too.

It was the Bryden, McKenzie for Chalmers and Murphy that raised the most eyebrows I think but yesterday shows that Brown actually has a plan even if we don't agree with it.

I've actually got high hopes for a big improvement next season.

Its all about the budget . If we free up the funds in the summer we could be in for a big season . The new stand will be open and the hospitality bucks will be flowing into the coffers .
