Been one of those seasons where very little has gone well and everything’s a struggle.

Just got to suck it up and make sure we don’t go down - which would be catastrophic!!!

Imagine our first home league game, opening the new stand with Cove Rangers our guests!!!

Really need a bit of a shuffle of the cards in January as it looks like no amount of coaching is going to help some of those guys unfortunately

I don't see us doing much in the window unless some pretty decent long term options land in our lap .This team has mid table to fourth written all over it . Can't see us burning any of next seasons budget on more of the same .

I could make up loads of stuff to prove a point, or I could look at the facts and see that Ayr have conceded on average 1.8 goals a game.

Much better than 2 a game, silly me, what am I like?

hhahhahahahhahhaha yup . However where you do have a point is we are going to struggle tomorrow night . Regardless of Thistle's selection issues .

  3. Queens will come down and try to play . That suits us much more ,should be a decent game with a better chance of a positive result then yesterday . For the younger posters on here , our current place in Scottish football can be glassed as "all right" , there has been much worse over the last few decades . When McCall came in we were staring L2 right in the face and we were also part time . A little before that time we were getting whacked at home by Cowdenbeath and Forfar . Compared to that our current position is lofty . The good news is we are in transit and our destination is the Premiership , we all just need to remain calm ,it will happen . Enjoy the journey fella's bumps and all . Teams like Morton we can forget about all together very shortly .

  4. Think we have to all understand that we just ain't good enough to win every week , its going to be an up and down season , hopefully we can get our shit together for the cup to a degree . The championship will be won by Dundee United , Thistle and Rovers will occupy the next two slots . The rest is much of a muchness with Morton going down and the rest scrapping it out to avoid one play off slot and trying to get into the other play off slot .

Pleased to see Dowds has done well so far at Ayr. I thought after watching our game, where Ayr had plenty of the ball but no end product that he could be an astute signing. So far, that has been the case.

I don't see him coming back to Firhill as he is down the pecking order and not particularly suitable for the way Thistle line-up.

Would be very glad to take him of your hands at Christmas on a full time basis . However that would mean he would line up against Aero a couple of times . I doubt Thistle would allow that .

The problem with both players is that Ayr fans aren’t likely to be the only ones to notice their performances should they continue.

Both parent clubs have made it pretty clear that the players have no future with them and both are trying to impress other clubs this season.

There are probably 12 clubs fishing the same waters when it comes to players, across the top 3 leagues and we will have to come up with something special to keep one or both.

It’s a bit like the McInroy situation. We give him a platform and he gets a move to the top flight on twice the wage we offer.

The club can’t officially offer anything until January to the player, so the best bet would be to pay fees before January to ensure we are getting them. The problem with that would be, can we afford it ? And have the players gone from looking for any way out of their clubs to looking for a way upwards.

Dowds is a good Championship centre forward who's had a tough time of it at Thistle and Falkirk ,perhaps a three year contract at Ayr where he is going to play every week will suffice . Obviously we'll have to pay the going rate , I think this guy is worth it .

Logan is entirely different case . If he continues to show case himself with us it will be another McInroy situation . He could move up to a bottom half Premiership side with out much problem .However would he play every week ? For him to stay with us Smith would need to push the boat out a bit . The question is are we at that stage come the season's end ????

My only slight nip pick with both the good wins are we are a counter attacking team so QP suited us. Airdrie clearly want to be pressed and we haven’t pressed much in each of the games so far, particularly the Raith game was noticeable as they pressed us and we weren’t. The next few games will be interesting to see how we adapt and push on. Same team for me v Dunfermline.

We still have issues at full back so we're not free of problems yet . However the young English boys in central midfield are growing game by game, love to see young players improving with game time. The signing of Dowds turned out better than anyone could have been expected , which as really pushed us on . Maybe some optimism can be enjoyed now . Hopefully we have plans in play to mitigate any moves by Thistle and United at Christmas to mug us off . Pars next ...

I have felt, and voiced in on here for a while that we were heading in this direction and we needed to change things to halt the decline. I took some amount of abuse for it, as did some others. I notice some of the most vocal have been absent from here in recent weeks.

We are now at our lowest point since Hopkin left and its about fixing it now. So I am strangely not arsed about sacking Bullen currently. It is obvious that Rose is not up to it currently and we have brought in Dowds. We still have a couple of weeks of the loan window to shift players about.

The problems are bigger than Bullen, underperforming players, poor recruitment, an obvious lack of learning from individuals, particularly in defence.

Results will dictate what happens now and if they continue, I think Bullen will walk, I have gotten the impression from the last two post match interviews that he is deflated rather that frustrated. He needs points quickly.

Has there ever been a manger you've not attempted to hound out ? It seems you seek cult status as some kind  of thinking man's Ayr fan . In reality though your just a rebel who missed the punk era . You and your little gang of like minded dweebs outed yourselves on here long ago . Continue shaking your fists in this virtual reality cyber world . The real world isn't for you . Trot on Percy .

Folk love an event, something they can build up to, like the races, a concert or even Scotland games. There isn't any excitement about going to an Ayr game unless it is a massive game. Alcohol is the incentive for most of that though.

You need extended groups of friends to go, male and female and that doesn't happen. There just doesn't seem to be a massive presence in the town

Maybe the new stand will help with some of that.

Once the new hospitality is open they should be looking at a Ladies Day . The Rugby Club do one and its probably their main event of the year . With Presidents Day being a close second . Plenty of way to bring in the money once the building is finished .

am sorry if I'm overreacting and/or being overdramatic, but it has been years since I have felt as pessimistic about a season. The squad, tactics, management and recruitment are all garbage.

Nice new stand is getting built though. Here's a nice wee picture of some diggers.

Not over reacting , just dumb and short sighted with the last comment .
